"Escucha cuidadosamente mis palabras y permite que éstas sean el consuelo que tú me ofreces a mí.
Oid atentamente mi palabra, y sea esto vuestros consuelos.
Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
“Listen diligently to my speech. Let this be your consolation.
Sopórtame y yo también hablaré; después de que yo haya hablado, sigue mofándote.
Soportadme, y yo hablaré; y después que hubiere hablado, escarneced.
Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
Allow me, and I also will speak. After I have spoken, mock on.
En cuanto a mí, ¿es mi queja a una persona? ¿Por qué yo no debería ser impaciente?
¿Hablo yo á algún hombre? y ¿por qué no se ha de angustiar mi espíritu?
As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn’t I be impatient?
Mírame y espántate y coloca tu mano sobre tu boca.
Miradme, y espantaos, y poned la mano sobre la boca.
Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.

Cuando yo pienso acerca de mis sufrimientos, yo estoy aterrorizado, y temblores se apoderan de mi cuerpo.
Aun yo mismo, cuando me acuerdo, me asombro, y toma temblor mi carne.
Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
When I remember, I am troubled. Horror takes hold of my flesh.
¿Por qué gente malvada continúa viviendo, envejecen, y crecen podesoros en poder?
¿Por qué viven los impíos, y se envejecen, y aun crecen en riquezas?
Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
“Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, and grow mighty in power?
Sus descendientes están establecidos con ellos a su vista y su descendencia está establecida delante de sus ojos.
Su simiente con ellos, compuesta delante de ellos; y sus renuevos delante de sus ojos.
Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
Their child is established with them in their sight, their offspring before their eyes.
Sus casas están protegidas del temor; tampoco está la vara de Dios sobre ellos.
Sus casas seguras de temor, ni hay azote de Dios sobre ellos.
Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

Su toro engendra; no falla al hacerlo; su vaca pare y no pierde su becerro prematuramente.

Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and don’t miscarry.

Ellos cantan al tamborín y al arpa y se regocijan con la música de la flauta.
Al son de tamboril y de cítara saltan, y se huelgan al son del órgano.
They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.

Ellos pasan sus días en prosperidad y ellos bajan silenciosamente al Seol.
Gastan sus días en bien, y en un momento descienden á la sepultura.
They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol.
Ellos le dicen a Dios: 'Aléjate de nosotros porque no deseamos ningún conocimiento de Tus caminos.
Dicen pues á Dios: Apártate de nosotros, que no queremos el conocimiento de tus caminos.
Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
They tell God, ‘Depart from us, for we don’t want to know about your ways.
¿Qué es el Todopoderoso, que nosotros deberíamos adorarlo? ¿Qué ventaja nosotros tendríamos si oramos a Él?
¿Quién es el Todopoderoso, para que le sirvamos? ¿y de qué nos aprovechará que oremos á él?
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?’
Ves, ¿no está su prosperidad en sus propias manos? Yo no tengo nada que ver con el consejo de personas malvadas.
He aquí que su bien no está en manos de ellos: el consejo de los impíos lejos esté de mí.
Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
¿Cuán a menudo es que la lámpara de personas malvadas se apaga, o que su calamidad viene sobre ellos? ¿Cuán a menudo ocurre que Dios distribuye penas a ellos en Su ira?
¡Oh cuántas veces la lámpara de los impíos es apagada, y viene sobre ellos su quebranto, y Dios en su ira les reparte dolores!
How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
“How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out, that their calamity comes on them, that God distributes sorrows in his anger?
¿Cuán a menudo es que ellos se vuelven como el residuo de la cosecha delante del viento o como paja que la tormenta se lleva lejos?
Serán como la paja delante del viento, y como el tamo que arrebata el torbellino.
They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?
Tú dices: 'Dios amontona la culpa de uno para que sus hijos paguen.'
Dios guardará para sus hijos su violencia; y le dará su pago, para que conozca.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
You say, ‘God lays up his iniquity for his children.’ Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.
Deja que él mismo la pague para que él pueda conocer su culpa. Deja que sus ojos vean su propia destrucción y deja que él beba de la ira del Todopoderoso.
Verán sus ojos su quebranto, y beberá de la ira del Todopoderoso.
His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Let his own eyes see his destruction. Let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Pues, ¿qué le importa a él su familia después de él, cuando el número de sus meses se ha cortado?
Porque ¿qué deleite tendrá él de su casa después de sí, siendo cortado el número de sus meses?
For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
For what does he care for his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
¿Puede alguien enseñarle a Dios conocimiento, puesto que Él es quien juzga incluso a aquellos que están en lo alto?
¿Enseñará alguien á Dios sabiduría, juzgando él á los que están elevados?
Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
“Shall any teach God knowledge, since he judges those who are high?
Un hombre muere en su completa fuerza, estando completamente callado y en quietud.
Este morirá en el vigor de su hermosura, todo quieto y pacífico.
One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
Su cuerpo está lleno de leche y la médula de sus huesos está húmeda y en buena salud.
Sus colodras están llenas de leche, y sus huesos serán regados de tuétano.
His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
His pails are full of milk. The marrow of his bones is moistened.
Otro hombre muere en amargura de su alma, uno quien nunca ha experimentado nada bueno.
Y estotro morirá en amargura de ánimo, y no habiendo comido jamás con gusto.
And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
Another dies in bitterness of soul, and never tastes of good.
Ellos se acuestan igual en el polvo; los gusanos los cubren a ambos.
Igualmente yacerán ellos en el polvo, y gusanos los cubrirán.
They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.

Ves, yo conozco tus pensamientos y las maneras en las cuales tú deseas hacerme daño.
He aquí, yo conozco vuestros pensamientos, y las imaginaciones que contra mí forjáis.
Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
“Behold, I know your thoughts, the plans with which you would wrong me.
Pues tú dices: '¿Dónde está ahora la casa del príncipe? ¿Dónde está la tienda en la cual el hombre malvado una vez vivió?'
Porque decís: ¿Qué es de la casa del príncipe, y qué de la tienda de las moradas de los impíos?
For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
For you say, ‘Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’
¿Nunca le has preguntado a personas viajeras? ¿No conoces la evidencia que ellos pueden contar,
¿No habéis preguntado á los que pasan por los caminos, por cuyas señas no negaréis,
Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
Haven’t you asked wayfaring men? Don’t you know their evidences,
que el hombre malvado es guardado del día de calamidad, y que él es llevado lejos del día de la ira?
Que el malo es reservado para el día de la destrucción? Presentados serán en el día de las iras.
That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, that they are led out to the day of wrath?
¿Quién condenará el camino del hombre malvado a su cara? ¿Quién le pagará el mal que él ha hecho?
¿Quién le denunciará en su cara su camino? Y de lo que él hizo, ¿quién le dará el pago?
Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
Who will declare his way to his face? Who will repay him what he has done?
Sin embargo, él será llevado al sepulcro; hombres mantendrán vigilancia sobre su tumba.
Porque llevado será él á los sepulcros, y en el montón permanecerá.
Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men will keep watch over the tomb.
Los terrones del valle les serán dulce; todas las personas seguirán tras él, así como hubo innumerables personas delante de él.
Los terrones del valle le serán dulces; y tras de él será llevado todo hombre, y antes de él han ido innumerables.
The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
The clods of the valley will be sweet to him. All men will draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
¿Cómo entonces tú me consuelas con tonterías, si en tus respuestas no hay nada más que falsedad?"
¿Cómo pues me consoláis en vano, viniendo á parar vuestras respuestas en falacia?
How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
So how can you comfort me with nonsense, because in your answers there remains only falsehood?”
