Job 1

Era un uomo nella terra di Hus per nome Giobbe, e quest'uomo era semplice, e retto, e timorato di Dio, e alieno dal mal fare.

HUBO un varón en tierra de Hus, llamado Job; y era este hombre perfecto y recto, y temeroso de Dios, y apartado del mal.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.

Ed egli ebbe sette figliuoli, e tre figliuole.

Y naciéronle siete hijos y tres hijas.

And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

E possedeva sette mila pecore, e tre mila cammelli, e cinquecento paia di bovi, e cinquecento asine, e gran numero di servi: e quest'uomo era grande tra gli Orientali.

Y su hacienda era siete mil ovejas, y tres mil camellos, y quinientas yuntas de bueyes, y quinientas asnas, y muchísimos criados: y era aquel varón grande más que todos los Orientales.

His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

E i suoi figliuoli andavan facendo de' conviti nelle case loro, ciascuno nel suo giorno, e mandavano a invitare le tre loro sorelle a mangiare, e bere con essi.

E iban sus hijos y hacían banquetes en sus casas, cada uno en su día; y enviaban á llamar sus tres hermanas, para que comiesen y bebiesen con ellos.

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

E quando era finito il giro dei giorni di convito Giobbe mandava a chiamarli, e li purificava, e alzatosi innanzi giorno offeriva olocausti per ciascuno di essi: perocché diceva: Chi sa, che i miei figliuoli non abbian fatto del male, e non abbiano disgustato Dio ne' loro cuori? Così faceva Giobbe ogni giorno.

Y acontecía que, habiendo pasado en turno los días del convite, Job enviaba y santificábalos, y levantábase de mañana y ofrecía holocaustos conforme al número de todos ellos. Porque decía Job: Quizá habrán pecado mis hijos, y habrán blasfemado á Dios en sus corazones. De esta manera hacía todos los días.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Or un dato giorno essendo venuti i figliuoli di Dio per istar davanti al Signore, vi si trovò con essi, anche Satan.

Y un día vinieron los hijos de Dios á presentarse delante de Jehová, entre los cuales vino también Satán.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Now on the day when God’s sons came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan also came among them.

E il Signore disse a lui: Donde vieni? E quegli rispose: Ho fatto il giro della terra, e la ho scorsa.

Y dijo Jehová á Satán: ¿De dónde vienes? Y respondiendo Satán á Jehová, dijo: De rodear la tierra, y de andar por ella.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

E il Signore gli disse: Hai tu posto mente al mio servo Giobbe, com' ei non ha sulla terra chi lo somigli, uomo semplice, e retto, e timorato di Dio, e alieno dal far male?

Y Jehová dijo á Satán: ¿No has considerado á mi siervo Job, que no hay otro como él en la tierra, varón perfecto y recto, temeroso de Dios, y apartado de mal?

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.”

Ma Satan gli rispose: Forse che Giobbe teme Dio inutilmente?

Y respondiendo Satán á Jehová, dijo: ¿Teme Job á Dios de balde?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?

Non hai tu messo in sicuro lui, e la sua casa, e tutti i suoi beni all'intorno? Hai benedette le fatiche delle sue mani, e i suoi beni si sono moltiplicati sulla terra.

¿No le has tú cercado á él, y á su casa, y á todo lo que tiene en derredor? Al trabajo de sus manos has dado bendición; por tanto su hacienda ha crecido sobre la tierra.

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Haven’t you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Ma stendi un po' la tua mano, e tocca tutto quel ch'ei possiede, e vedrai s'ei non dirà male di te in faccia.

Mas extiende ahora tu mano, y toca á todo lo que tiene, y verás si no te blasfema en tu rostro.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”

Il Signore adunque disse a Satan: Su via. tutto quel ch'ei possiede, è in tua balia: solamente non stendere la tua mano contro la sua persona. E Satan partì dalla presenza del Signore.

Y dijo Jehová á Satán: He aquí, todo lo que tiene está en tu mano: solamente no pongas tu mano sobre él. Y salióse Satán de delante de Jehová.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

The LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Or mentre un giorno i figliuoli di lui, e le figliuole mangiavano, e beveano del vino in casa del fratello loro primo genito,

Y un día aconteció que sus hijos é hijas comían y bebían vino en casa de su hermano el primogénito,

And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

It fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

Venne un messo a Giobbe per dirgli: I buoi aravano, e le asine pascevano vicino a quelli,

Y vino un mensajero á Job, que le dijo: Estando arando los bueyes, y las asnas paciendo cerca de ellos,

And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

that a messenger came to Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys feeding beside them,

I Sabei hanno fatta una scorreria, e han portato via ogni cosa, e hanno uccisi di spada i servi, e io solo ho avuto scampo per recarti questa nuova.

Acometieron los Sabeos, y tomáronlos, é hirieron á los mozos á filo de espada: solamente escapé yo para traerte las nuevas.

And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

and the Sabeans attacked, and took them away. Yes, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

E prima che questi avesse finito di dire, venne un altro, e disse: Un fuoco grande è caduto dal cielo, e ha percosse, e consunte le pecore, e i servi e mi son salvato io solo per recarti tal nuova.

Aun estaba éste hablando, y vino otro que dijo: Fuego de Dios cayó del cielo, que quemó las ovejas y los mozos, y los consumió: solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

E mentre anche questi parlava, sopraggiunse un altro, e disse: I Caldei divisi in tre squadre hanno predati, e menati via i cammelli, e uccisi i servi a mano armata, e son fuggito io solo per recarti questa nuova.

Todavía estaba éste hablando, y vino otro que dijo: Los Caldeos hicieron tres escuadrones, y dieron sobre los camellos, y tomáronlos, é hirieron á los mozos á filo de espada; y solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Questi non finì di dire, che venne un altro, e disse: Mentre i tuoi figliuoli, e le figliuole mangiavano, e beveano il vino in casa del loro fratello primogenito,

Entre tanto que éste hablaba, vino otro que dijo: Tus hijos y tus hijas estaban comiendo y bebiendo vino en casa de su hermano el primogénito;

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

Si è levato ad un tratto un vento impetuoso dalla parte del deserto, e ha scossi i quattro angoli della casa, e questa è caduta, ed ha oppressi i tuoi figliuoli, e sono morti, e sol'io sono scappato per recarti tal nuova.

Y he aquí un gran viento que vino del lado del desierto, é hirió las cuatro esquinas de la casa, y cayó sobre los mozos, y murieron; y solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

and behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young men, and they are dead. I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Allora Giobbe si alzò, e stracciò le sue vesti, e tosatosi il capo si prostrò per terra, e adorò Dio,

Entonces Job se levantó, y rasgó su manto, y trasquiló su cabeza, y cayendo en tierra adoró;

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.

E disse: Ignudo uscii dal seno di mia madre, e ignudo tornerò laggiù. Il Signore avea dato, il Signore ha ritolto; è stato quello, che è piaciuto al Signore: il nome del Signore sia benedetto.

Y dijo: Desnudo salí del vientre de mi madre, y desnudo tornaré allá. Jehová dió, y Jehová quitó: sea el nombre de Jehová bendito.

And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD’s name.”

A tutte queste cose Giobbe non peccò colle sue labbra, e non disse parola men sana contro il Signore. Satana ottenutane la permissione dà Dio, affligge Giobbe con ulcera pessima: lo insulta anche la moglie: e i tre amici, che vanno a visitarlo, per sette giorni seggono taciturni con lui sulla terra.

En todo esto no pecó Job, ni atribuyó á Dios despropósito alguno.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

In all this, Job didn’t sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.
