“Mi aliento se agota, mis días se apagan, y el sepulcro me aguarda.
MI ALIENTO está corrompido, acórtanse mis días, y me está aparejado el sepulcro.
My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
“My spirit is consumed. My days are extinct and the grave is ready for me.
No hay conmigo sino escarnecedores, y mis ojos deben tolerar su provocación.
No hay conmigo sino escarnecedores, en cuya acrimonia se detienen mis ojos.
Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?
Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
“Dame fianza, oh Dios; sea yo avalado contigo. ¿Quién habría de darme la mano si no fueras tú?
Pon ahora, dame fianza para litigar contigo: ¿quién tocará ahora mi mano?
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
“Now give a pledge. Be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
Porque has cerrado el corazón de ellos al entendimiento; por tanto, no los exaltarás.
Porque á éstos has tú escondido su corazón de inteligencia: por tanto, no los ensalzarás.
For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding, therefore you will not exalt them.
Al que denuncia a sus amigos por una parte del botín, aun los ojos de sus hijos desfallecerán.
El que denuncia lisonjas á sus prójimos, los ojos de sus hijos desfallezcan.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He who denounces his friends for plunder, even the eyes of his children will fail.
“Él me ha puesto como refrán de los pueblos, y me han escupido en la cara.
El me ha puesto por parábola de pueblos, y delante de ellos he sido como tamboril.
He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.
“But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
Mis ojos se han oscurecido por el dolor, y todos mis miembros son como una sombra.
Y mis ojos se oscurecieron de desabrimiento, y mis pensamientos todos son como sombra.
Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

Los rectos se asombrarán de esto, y el inocente se levantará contra el impío.

Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Upright men will be astonished at this. The innocent will stir himself up against the godless.
No obstante, el justo se mantendrá en su camino, y el limpio de manos aumentará su fuerza.

The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Yet the righteous will hold to his way. He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
Mas volved todos vosotros, y venid ahora, que no hallaré entre vosotros sabio alguno.

Pasaron mis días, y mis planes se desbarataron, aun los deseos de mi corazón.

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

Ellos cambian la noche en día, y dicen que la luz está cerca frente a las tinieblas.
Pusieron la noche por día, y la luz se acorta delante de las tinieblas.
They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
They change the night into day, saying ‘The light is near’ in the presence of darkness.
Si yo espero el Seol como mi casa, y tiendo mi lecho en las tinieblas;
Si yo espero, el sepulcro es mi casa: haré mi cama en las tinieblas.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness,
si a la corrupción digo: ‘Tú eres mi padre’, y a los gusanos: ‘Mi madre’ y ‘Mi hermana’,
A la huesa tengo dicho: Mi padre eres tú; á los gusanos: Mi madre y mi hermana.
I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
if I have said to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ and ‘My sister,’
¿dónde estará entonces mi esperanza? Y mi esperanza, ¿quién la verá?
¿Dónde pues estará ahora mi esperanza? y mi esperanza ¿quién la verá?
And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
where then is my hope? As for my hope, who will see it?
A las puertas del Seol descenderán, y juntos descansaremos en el polvo”.
A los rincones de la huesa descenderán, y juntamente descansarán en el polvo.
They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
Shall it go down with me to the gates of Sheol, or descend together into the dust?”
