E havvi in Gerusalemme la piscina probatica, che in lingua Ebrea si chiama Betsaida, la quale ha cinque porticati.
Y hay en Jerusalem á la puerta del ganado un estanque, que en hebraico es llamado Bethesda, el cual tiene cinco portales.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

Ne' quali giaceva gran turba di malati, di ciechi, di zoppi, di paralitici, i quali aspettavano il movimento dell'acqua.
En éstos yacía multitud de enfermos, ciegos, cojos, secos, que estaban esperando el movimiento del agua.
In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

Imperocché l'Angelo del Signore in un certo tempo scendeva nella piscina, e l'acqua era agitata. E chiunque fosse stato il primo a scendere nella piscina dopo il movimento dell'acqua, restava sano, qualunque fosse la malattia, dalla quale era detenuto.
Porque un ángel descendía á cierto tiempo al estanque, y revolvía el agua; y el que primero descendía en el estanque después del movimiento del agua, era sano de cualquier enfermedad que tuviese.
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
for an angel went down at certain times into the pool and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.
Ed eravi un uomo il quale avea passati trentotto anni nella sua infermità.
Y estaba allí un hombre que había treinta y ocho años que estaba enfermo.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
A certain man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
E Gesù mirato avendo costui, che se ne stava a giacere, e conoscendo, che era di età avanzata, gli disse: Vuoi tu essere risanato?
Como Jesús vió á éste echado, y entendió que ya había mucho tiempo, dícele: ¿Quieres ser sano?
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”
Risposegli l'infermo: Signore, io non ho uomo, che mi getti nella piscina, quando l'acqua è agitata: il perché quando io mi vi accosto, un altro vi scende prima di me.
Señor, le respondió el enfermo, no tengo hombre que me meta en el estanque cuando el agua fuere revuelta; porque entre tanto que yo vengo, otro antes de mí ha descendido.
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”
Dissegli Gesù: Alzati, prendi il tuo letticciuolo, e cammina.
Dícele Jesús: Levántate, toma tu lecho, y anda.
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”
E in quell'istante colui diventò sano, prese il suo letticciuolo, e camminava. Or quel di era sabato.
Y luego aquel hombre fué sano, y tomó su lecho, é íbase. Y era sábado aquel día.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now that day was a Sabbath.
Dicevan perciò i Giudei all'uomo risanato: E sabato, non è a te lecito di portare il tuo letticciuolo.
Entonces los Judíos decían á aquel que había sido sanado: Sábado es: no te es lícito llevar tu lecho.
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
So the Jews said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”
Ed egli rispose loro: Colui, che mi ha risanato, mi ha detto: Prendi il tuo letticciuolo, e cammina.
Respondióles: El que me sanó, él mismo me dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’ ”
Domandarongli adunque chi fosse quell'uomo, che gli avea detto: Prendi il tuo letticciuolo, e cammina?
Preguntáronle entonces: ¿Quién es el que te dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda?
Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat and walk’?”
Ma l'uomo risanato non sapeva, chi quegli fosse; perché Gesù si era scansato dalla turba, che era in quel luogo.
Y el que había sido sanado, no sabía quién fuese; porque Jesús se había apartado de la gente que estaba en aquel lugar.
And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.
Dopo di ciò trovollo Gesù nel tempio, e gli disse: Ecco che se' risanato: non peccar più, perché non ti avvenga qualche cosa di peggio.
Después le halló Jesús en el templo, y díjole: He aquí, has sido sanado; no peques más, porque no te venga alguna cosa peor.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
Quegli andò a dar nuova a' Giudei, come Gesù era quello, che l'avea risanato.
El se fué, y dió aviso á los Judíos, que Jesús era el que le había sanado.
The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Per questo i Giudei perseguitavan Gesù, perché tali cose faceva in giorno di sabato.
Y por esta causa los Judíos perseguían á Jesús, y procuraban matarle, porque hacía estas cosas en sábado.
And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
Ma Gesù rispondeva loro: Il Padre mio opera sino a quest'oggi, e io opero.
Y Jesús les respondió: Mi Padre hasta ahora obra, y yo obro.
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”
Per questo sempre più i Giudei cercavano di ucciderlo: mentre non solo rompeva il sabato, ma di più diceva, che Dio era il Padre suo, facendosi eguale a Dio. Rispose adunque Gesù, e disse loro:
Entonces, por tanto, más procuraban los Judíos matarle, porque no sólo quebrantaba el sábado, sino que también á su Padre llamaba Dios, haciéndose igual á Dios.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
In verità, in verità vi dico: Non può il Figliuolo far da se cosa alcuna, se non l'ha veduta fare dal Padre: imperocché quello, che questi fa, lo fa parimente il Figliuolo.
Respondió entonces Jesús, y díjoles: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada de sí mismo, sino lo que viere hacer al Padre: porque todo lo que él hace, esto también hace el Hijo juntamente.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Jesus therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
Imperciocché il Padre ama il Figliuolo, e a lui manifesta tutto quello, che egli fa: e farà a lui vedere opere maggiori di queste, onde voi ne restiate stupefatti.
Porque el Padre ama al Hijo, y le muestra todas las cosas que él hace; y mayores obras que éstas le mostrará, de suerte que vosotros os maravilléis.
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
Conciossiachè siccome il Padre risuscita i morti, e rende ad essi la vita: così il Figliuolo rende la vita a quelli, che vuole.
Porque como el Padre levanta los muertos, y les da vida, así también el Hijo á los que quiere da vida.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
Imperocché il Padre non giudica alcuno: ma ha rimesso interamente nel Figliuolo il far giudizio,
Porque el Padre á nadie juzga, mas todo el juicio dió al Hijo;
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,
Affinchè tutti onorino il Figliuolo, come onorano il Padre: chi non onora il Figliuolo, non onora il Padre, che lo ha mandato.
Para que todos honren al Hijo como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, no honra al Padre que le envió.
That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.
In verità, in verità vi dico, che chi ascolta la mia parola, e crede in lui, che mi ha mandato, ha la vita eterna, e non incorre nel giudizio, ma è passato da morte a vita.
De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que oye mi palabra, y cree al que me ha enviado, tiene vida eterna; y no vendrá á condenación, mas pasó de muerte á vida.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
“Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
In verità, in verità vi dico, che verrà il tempo, anzi è adesso, quando i morti udiranno la voce del Figliuolo di Dio: e quei, che l'avranno udita, viveranno.
De cierto, de cierto os digo: Vendrá hora, y ahora es, cuando los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios: y los que oyeren vivirán.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.
Imperocché siccome il Padre ha in se stesso la vita: così ha dato al Figliuolo l'avere in se stesso la vita:
Porque como el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así dió también al Hijo que tuviese vida en sí mismo:
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
E gli ha dato podestà di far giudizio in quanto è Figliuolo dell'uomo.
Y también le dió poder de hacer juicio, en cuanto es el Hijo del hombre.
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Non vi stupite di questo, perché verrà tempo, in cui tutti quelli, che sono ne' sepolcri, udiranno la voce del Figliuolo di Dio:
No os maravilléis de esto; porque vendrá hora, cuando todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz;
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
E usciranno fuora quelli, che avranno fatto opere buone, risorgendo per vivere: quegli poi, che avran fatto opere male, risorgendo per essere condannati.
Y los que hicieron bien, saldrán á resurrección de vida; mas los que hicieron mal, á resurrección de condenación.
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
Non posso io fare da me cosa alcuna. Giudico secondo quel, che mi vien detto: e il mio giudizio è retto: perché non cerco il voler mio, ma il volere del Padre, che mi ha mandato.
No puedo yo de mí mismo hacer nada: como oigo, juzgo: y mi juicio es justo; porque no busco mi voluntad, mas la voluntad del que me envió, del Padre.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
Se io rendo testimonianza a me stesso, la testimonianza mia non è idonea.
Si yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio no es verdadero.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
“If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.
Evvi un altro, che rende a ne testimonianza: e so, che è idonea la testimonianza, che egli a me rende.
Otro es el que da testimonio de mí; y sé que el testimonio que da de mí, es verdadero.
There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.
Voi avete mandato a interrogare Giovanni: ed egli ha reso testimonianza al vero.
Vosotros enviasteis á Juan, y él dió testimonio á la verdad.
Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
Io però non ricevo testimonianza, da un uomo: ma queste cose dicovi per vostra salute.
Empero yo no tomo el testimonio de hombre; mas digo esto, para que vosotros seáis salvos.
But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.
Quegli era lampana ardente, e luminosa. E voi avete voluto per pochi momenti godere della sua luce.
El era antorcha que ardía y alumbraba: y vosotros quisisteis recrearos por un poco á su luz.
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
Io però ho una testimonianza maggiore di quella di Giovanni. Imperocché le opere, che mi ha dato il Padre da adempire, queste opere stesse, le quali io fo, testificano a favor mio, che il Padre mi ha mandato:
Mas yo tengo mayor testimonio que el de Juan: porque las obras que el Padre me dió que cumpliese, las mismas obras que yo hago, dan testimonio de mí, que el Padre me haya enviado.
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
E il Padre, che mi ha mandato, egli stesso ha resa testimonianza a favor mio: e voi ne avete udita giammai la sua voce, né veduto il suo volto.
Y el que me envió, el Padre, él ha dado testimonio de mí. Ni nunca habéis oído su voz, ni habéis visto su parecer.
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
E non avete abitante in voi la sua parola: perché non credete a chi egli ha mandato.
Ni tenéis su palabra permanente en vosotros; porque al que él envió, á éste vosotros no creéis.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
You don’t have his word living in you, because you don’t believe him whom he sent.
Voi andate investigando le Scritture, perché credete di avere in esse la vita eterna: e queste sono quelle, che parlano a favor mio:
Escudriñad las Escrituras, porque á vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.
E non volete venir a me per aver vita.
Y no queréis venir á mí, para que tengáis vida.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
Io non accetto la gloria, che viene dagli uomini.
Gloria de los hombres no recibo.
I receive not honour from men.
I don’t receive glory from men.
Ma vi ho conosciuto, che non avete in voi amore di Dio.
Mas yo os conozco, que no tenéis amor de Dios en vosotros.
But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
But I know you, that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves.
Io son venuto nel nome del Padre mio, e non mi ricevete: se un altro verrà di propria autorità, lo riceverete.
Yo he venido en nombre de mi Padre, y no me recibís: si otro viniere en su propio nombre, á aquél recibiréis.
I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
Com'è possibile, che crediate voi, che andate mendicando gloria gli uni dagli altri, e non cercate quella gloria, che da Dio solo procede?
¿Cómo podéis vosotros creer, pues tomáis la gloria los unos de los otros, y no buscáis la gloria que de sólo Dios viene?
How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
Non vi pensate, che sia per accusarvi io presso del Padre: havvi già chi vi accusa, quel Mosè, in cui voi vi confidate.
No penséis que yo os tengo de acusar delante del Padre; hay quien os acusa, Moisés, en quien vosotros esperáis.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
“Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope.
Imperocché se credeste a Mosè, a me ancora credeste: conciossiaché di me egli ha scritto.
Porque si vosotros creyeseis á Moisés, creeríais á mí; porque de mí escribió él.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.
Che se non credete a quel, che egli ha scritto, come crederete voi alle mie parole? Con cinque pani, e due pesci sazia cinque mila uomini. Flegge da coloro, che volevano farlo re. Camminando sul mare va a trovare i discepoli agitati dal vento. Discorre del pane del cielo, e dice, se esser pane di vita, e la carne sua cibo, che dee essere mangiato, e il sangue bevanda, che dee essere bevuta. Alcuni discepoli disgustati del suo discorso lo abbandonano. Gli Apostoli restano con lui, de’ quali però egli dice, che uno è un demonio.
Y si á sus escritos no creéis, ¿cómo creeréis á mis palabras?
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
