1Am dritten Tage fand zu Kana in Galiläa eine Hochzeit statt. Die Mutter Jesu war dabei;
2auch Jesus war mit seinen Jüngern zur Hochzeit geladen.
3Als der Wein ausging, da sagte ihm die Mutter Jesu: "Sie haben keinen Wein."
4Und Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen, Weib? Meine Stunde ist noch nicht gekommen."
5Da sagte seine Mutter zu den Dienern: "Tut alles, was er euch sagen mag."
6Nun waren dort sechs steinerne Wasserkrüge aufgestellt für Reinigungen, wie sie bei den Juden üblich waren; ein jeder faßte zwei oder drei Maß.
7Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Füllt die Krüge mit Wasser!" Sie füllten sie bis zum Rande an.
8Er sprach zu ihnen: "Schöpft jetzt und bringt es dem Speisemeister!" Sie brachten es.
9Der Speisemeister kostete das Wasser, das zu Wein geworden war. Er wußte nicht, woher er war; die Diener wußten es, sie hatten ja das Wasser eingeschöpft. Der Speisemeister rief den Bräutigam und sprach zu ihm:
10"Ein jeder setzt den Gästen zuerst den guten Wein vor, und erst wenn sie trunken sind, den geringeren; du aber hast den guten Wein bis jetzt zurückgehalten."
11So machte Jesus zu Kana in Galiläa den Anfang seiner Zeichen. Er offenbarte seine Herrlichkeit, und seine Jünger glaubten an ihn.
12Darauf zog er nach Karpharnaum hinab mit seiner Mutter, seinen Brüdern und seinen Jüngern; sie blieben aber nur ein paar Tage dort.
13Das Osterfest der Juden war nahe, und Jesus zog nach Jerusalem hinauf.
14Im Tempel traf er solche, die Rinder, Schafe und Tauben zu verkaufen hatten, und Geldwechsler, die sich dort aufhielten.
15Er flocht eine Geißel aus Stricken und trieb sie alle, samt den Schafen und den Rindern, aus dem Tempel, verschüttete das Geld der Wechsler und stieß deren Tische um.
16Und zu den Taubenhändlern sprach er: "Schafft das hinweg und macht das Haus meines Vaters nicht zu einer Markthalle!"
17Da erinnerten sich seine Jünger an das Schriftwort: "Der Eifer für dein Haus wird mich verzehren."
18Die Juden aber traten ihm entgegen mit den Worten: "Mit welchem Zeichen beweist du uns, daß du dies tun darfst?"
19Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Reißt diesen Tempel nieder, und in drei Tagen will ich ihn wieder aufrichten."
20Da sagten zu ihm die Juden: "Sechsundvierzig Jahre hat man an diesem Tempel gebaut, und du willst ihn in drei Tagen wieder aufrichten?"
21Er aber sprach vom Tempel seines Leibes.
22Als er dann von den Toten auferstanden war, erinnerten sich seine Jünger, daß er davon gesprochen hatte. So glaubten sie der Schrift und auch dem Worte, das Jesus gesprochen hatte.
23Während er beim Osterfest in Jerusalem weilte, glaubten viele an seinen Namen, weil sie die Zeichen sahen, die er wirkte.
24Doch Jesus selbst vertraute sich ihnen nicht an; denn er durchschaute sie alle.
25Er hatte ja nicht nötig, daß ihn jemand über Menschen belehre; er selber wußte, wie es mit Menschen sich verhält.

1Y AL tercer día hiciéronse unas bodas en Caná de Galilea; y estaba allí la madre de Jesús.
2Y fué también llamado Jesús y sus discípulos á las bodas.
3Y faltando el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: Vino no tienen.
4Y dícele Jesús: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, mujer? aun no ha venido mi hora.
5Su madre dice á los que servían: Haced todo lo que os dijere.
6Y estaban allí seis tinajuelas de piedra para agua, conforme á la purificación de los Judíos, que cabían en cada una dos ó tres cántaros.
7Díceles Jesús: Henchid estas tinajuelas de agua. E hinchiéronlas hasta arriba.
8Y díceles: Sacad ahora, y presentad al maestresala. Y presentáronle.
9Y como el maestresala gustó el agua hecha vino, que no sabía de dónde era (mas lo sabían los sirvientes que habían sacado el agua), el maestresala llama al esposo,
10Y dícele: Todo hombre pone primero el buen vino, y cuando están satisfechos, entonces lo que es peor; mas tú has guardado el buen vino hasta ahora.
11Este principio de señales hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y manifestó su gloria; y sus discípulos creyeron en él.
12Después de esto descendió á Capernaum, él, y su madre, y hermanos, y discípulos; y estuvieron allí no muchos días.
13Y estaba cerca la Pascua de los Judíos; y subió Jesús á Jerusalem.
14Y halló en el templo á los que vendían bueyes, y ovejas, y palomas, y á los cambiadores sentados.
15Y hecho un azote de cuerdas, echólos á todos del templo, y las ovejas, y los bueyes; y derramó los dineros de los cambiadores, y trastornó las mesas;
16Y á los que vendían las palomas, dijo: Quitad de aquí esto, y no hagáis la casa de mi Padre casa de mercado.
17Entonces se acordaron sus discípulos que está escrito: El celo de tu casa me comió.
18Y los Judíos respondieron, y dijéronle: ¿Qué señal nos muestras de que haces esto?
19Respondió Jesús, y díjoles: Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.
20Dijeron luego los Judíos: En cuarenta y seis años fué este templo edificado, ¿y tú en tres días lo levantarás?
21Mas él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.
22Por tanto, cuando resucitó de los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron que había dicho esto; y creyeron á la Escritura, y á la palabra que Jesús había dicho.
23Y estando en Jerusalem en la Pascua, en el día de la fiesta, muchos creyeron en su nombre, viendo las señales que hacía.
24Mas el mismo Jesús no se confiaba á sí mismo de ellos, porque él conocía á todos,
25Y no tenía necesidad que alguien le diese testimonio del hombre; porque él sabía lo que había en el hombre.

1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
13And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
18Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21But he spake of the temple of his body.
22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

1The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there.
2Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding.
3When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
4Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
5His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.
7Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.
8He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom
10and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
13The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
15He made a whip of cords and drove all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money and overthrew their tables.
16To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
17His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”
18The Jews therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20The Jews therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
21But he spoke of the temple of his body.
22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
24But Jesus didn’t entrust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
25and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
