1O dass mein Haupt mir zerflösse, mein Auge mir würde zum Tränenquell! Weinen wollte ich Tag und Nacht um die Erschlagenen meines Volkes! (1) die Lutherbibel hat für 9,1-26 die Zählung 8,23; 9,1-25.
2O dass ich eine Herberge hätte fern in der Wüste! so wollte ich mein Volk verlassen, wollte von ihnen gehen! Denn alle sind sie Ehebrecher, eine Rotte von Treulosen. (a) Jer 5:7
3Sie spannen ihre Zunge wie einen Bogen: die Lüge, nicht die Wahrheit, führt im Lande das Regiment; denn sie schreiten von Frevel zu Frevel, mich aber kennen sie nicht, spricht der Herr.
4Ein jeder hüte sich vor dem Freunde, und keiner traue dem Bruder; denn jeder Bruder treibt es wie Jakob, und jeder Freund verleumdet. (a) Jer 12:6; Mi 7:5; 1Mo 27:36
5Einer betrügt den andern, und keiner redet ein wahres Wort; ans Lügen gewöhnt ist ihre Zunge, sie freveln und mögen nicht umkehren.
6Gewalttat über Gewalttat, Trug über Trug! sie wollen mich nicht kennen, spricht der Herr.
7Darum spricht der Herr der Heerscharen also: Siehe, ich will sie schmelzen, will sie prüfen. Ja, ich muss einschreiten ob der Verworfenheit meines Volkes.
8Ein tödlicher Pfeil ist ihre Zunge, Trug die Rede ihres Mundes; friedsam redet man mit dem Nächsten, aber im Herzen hegt man gegen ihn Arglist. (a) Ps 12:3; 28:3
9Sollte ich dergleichen nicht an ihnen ahnden? spricht der Herr. Sollte ich mich nicht rächen an einem solchen Volke? (a) Jer 5:9 29
10Über die Berge muss ich anheben Weinen und Totenklage, über die Auen der Trift das Trauerlied. Wüste liegen sie, da geht kein Wandrer; man hört keinen Laut der Herde. Die Vögel des Himmels und das Wild, fort sind sie alle, entflohen.
11"Ich will Jerusalem zum Trümmerhaufen machen, zur Behausung der Schakale, und die Städte Judas wandle ich zur Wüstenei, wo niemand wohnt." (a) Jer 10:22; Jes 34:13
12Wo ist der Mann, so weise, dass er dies verstehe, so unterrichtet durch den Mund des Herrn, dass er es erkläre, warum das Land zugrunde gegangen, warum es verheert ist wie die Wüste, sodass niemand hindurchzieht?
13Und der Herr sprach: Darum, weil sie mein Gesetz verlassen haben, das ich ihnen vorgelegt; weil sie auf meine Stimme nicht hörten und nicht darnach wandelten,
14sondern der Verstocktheit ihres Herzens folgten und den Baalen, zu denen ihre Väter sie gewöhnt haben!
15Darum spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, also: Siehe, ich will sie mit Wermut speisen, will sie mit Giftwasser tränken. (a) Jer 8:14; 23:15
16Ich will sie unter die Völker zerstreuen, die weder ihnen noch ihren Vätern bekannt waren, will das Schwert hinter ihnen her schicken, bis ich sie aufgerieben habe. (a) 3Mo 26:33; 5Mo 28:64
17So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Rufet die Klagefrauen, sie sollen kommen; nach den weisen Frauen schicket, dass sie wehklagen.
18Sie sollen eilen und über uns anheben das Trauerlied, dass unsre Augen von Tränen fliessen, unsre Wimpern von Wasserströmen.
19Horch! von Zion her hört man Klage: "Wie sind wir verwüstet! wie sind wir mit Schmach bedeckt! denn wir müssen das Land verlassen, unsre Wohnstätten sind zerstört!"
20So hört denn, ihr Frauen, das Wort des Herrn, euer Ohr vernehme das Wort seines Mundes! Lehrt eure Töchter die Klage, eine jede die andre den Trauergesang:
21"Der Tod ist uns durchs Fenster gestiegen, ist eingedrungen in unsre Paläste. Er schlägt das spielende Kind auf der Gasse und den jungen Mann auf dem Markte,
22und es liegen die Leichen der Menschen wie Mist auf dem Felde, wie Halmbüschel hinter dem Schnitter, die keiner sammelt." (a) Jer 7:33
23So spricht der Herr: Der Weise rühme sich nicht seiner Weisheit, der Starke rühme sich nicht seiner Stärke, der Reiche rühme sich nicht seines Reichtums;
24sondern dessen rühme sich, wer sich rühmen will: einsichtig zu sein und mich zu erkennen, zu wissen, dass ich, der Herr, es bin, der Gnade und Recht und Gerechtigkeit auf Erden übt; denn an solchen habe ich Wohlgefallen, spricht der Herr.
25Siehe, es kommen Tage, spricht der Herr, da suche ich heim alle Beschnittenen, die doch unbeschnitten sind:
26die Ägypter, Juden und Edomiter, die Ammoniter und Moabiter und alle, die sich den Haarrand stutzen, die in der Wüste wohnen; denn alle Völker sind unbeschnitten, und das ganze Haus Israel ist unbeschnittenen Herzens.

1¡OH si mi cabeza se tornase aguas, y mis ojos fuentes de aguas, para que llore día y noche los muertos de la hija de mi pueblo!
2¡Oh quién me diese en el desierto un mesón de caminantes, para que dejase mi pueblo, y de ellos me apartase! Porque todos ellos son adúlteros, congregación de prevaricadores.
3E hicieron que su lengua, como su arco, tirase mentira; y no se fortalecieron por verdad en la tierra: porque de mal en mal procedieron, y me han desconocido, dice Jehová.
4Guárdese cada uno de su compañero, ni en ningún hermano tenga confianza: porque todo hermano engaña con falacia, y todo compañero anda con falsedades.
5Y cada uno engaña á su compañero, y no hablan verdad: enseñaron su lengua á hablar mentira, se ocupan de hacer perversamente.
6Tu morada es en medio de engaño; de muy engañadores no quisieron conocerme, dice Jehová.
7Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que yo los fundiré, y los ensayaré; porque ¿cómo he de hacer por la hija de mi pueblo?
8Saeta afilada es la lengua de ellos; engaño habla; con su boca habla paz con su amigo, y dentro de sí pone sus asechanzas.
9¿No los tengo de visitar sobre estas cosas? dice Jehová. ¿De tal gente no se vengará mi alma?
10Sobre los montes levantaré lloro y lamentación, y llanto sobre las moradas del desierto; porque desolados fueron hasta no quedar quien pase, ni oyeron bramido de ganado: desde las aves del cielo y hasta las bestias de la tierra se trasportaron, y se fueron.
11Y pondré á Jerusalem en montones, por morada de culebras; y pondré las ciudades de Judá en asolamiento, que no quede morador.
12¿Quién es varón sabio que entienda esto? ¿y á quién habló la boca de Jehová, para que pueda declararlo? ¿Por qué causa la tierra ha perecido, ha sido asolada como desierto, que no hay quien pase?
13Y dijo Jehová: Porque dejaron mi ley, la cual dí delante de ellos, y no obedecieron á mi voz, ni caminaron conforme á ella;
14Antes se fueron tras la imaginación de su corazón, y en pos de los Baales que les enseñaron sus padres:
15Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que á este pueblo yo les daré á comer ajenjos, y les daré á beber aguas de hiel.
16Y los esparciré entre gentes que no conocieron ellos ni sus padres; y enviaré espada en pos de ellos, hasta que yo los acabe.
17Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Considerad, y llamad plañideras que vengan; y enviad por las sabias que vengan:
18Y dense prisa, y levanten llanto sobre nosotros, y córranse nuestros ojos en lágrimas, y nuestros párpados en aguas se destilen.
19Porque voz de endecha fué oída de Sión: ¡Cómo hemos sido destruídos! en gran manera hemos sido confundidos. ¿Por qué dejamos la tierra? ¿por qué nos han echado de sí nuestras moradas?
20Oid pues, oh mujeres, palabra de Jehová, y vuestro oído reciba la palabra de su boca; y enseñad endechas á vuestras hijas, y cada una á su amiga, lamentación.
21Porque la muerte ha subido por nuestras ventanas, ha entrado en nuestros palacios; para talar los niños de las calles, los mancebos de las plazas.
22Habla: Así ha dicho Jehová: Los cuerpos de los hombres muertos caerán como estiércol sobre la haz del campo, y como manojo tras el segador, que no hay quien lo recoja.
23Así dijo Jehová: No se alabe el sabio en su sabiduría, ni en su valentía se alabe el valiente, ni el rico se alabe en sus riquezas.
24Mas alábese en esto el que se hubiere de alabar: en entenderme y conocerme, que yo soy Jehová, que hago misericordia, juicio, y justicia en la tierra: porque estas cosas quiero, dice Jehová.
25He aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, y visitaré sobre todo circuncidado, y sobre todo incircunciso:
26A Egipto, y á Judá, y á Edom, y á los hijos de Ammón y de Moab, y á todos los arrinconados en el postrer rincón, que moran en el desierto; porque todas las gentes tienen prepucio, y toda la casa de Israel tiene prepucio en el corazón.

1Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
2Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
3And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
4Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
5And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.
7Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?
8Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
9Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
11And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
12Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
13And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
14But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
15Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.
16I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
17Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come:
18And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.
20Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
21For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.
22Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.
23Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
25Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.

3“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says the LORD.
4“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.
5Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.
6Your habitation is in the middle of deceit. Through deceit, they refuse to know me,” says the LORD.
7Therefore the LORD of Armies says, “Behold, I will melt them and test them; for how should I deal with the daughter of my people?
8Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.
9Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says the LORD. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?
10I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.
11“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
12Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
13The LORD says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways,
14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.”
15Therefore the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says, “Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood and give them poisoned water to drink.
16I will scatter them also among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them.”
17The LORD of Armies says, “Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come. Send for the skillful women, that they may come.
18Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, ‘How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.’”
20Yet hear the LORD’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing. Everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.

26Egypt, Judah, Edom, the children of Ammon, Moab, and all who have the corners of their hair cut off, who dwell in the wilderness, for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.”
