1DAS Wort, das vom Herrn an Jeremia erging:
2Tritt ins Tor des Hauses des Herrn und predige dort dieses Wort und sprich: Höret das Wort des Herrn, ihr alle aus Juda, die ihr durch diese Tore hineingeht, den Herrn anzubeten!
3So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Bessert euren Wandel und eure Taten, so will ich euch an diesem Orte wohnen lassen. (a) Jer 18:11; 26:13; Jes 1:16
4Verlasst euch nicht auf täuschende Worte wie diese: "Der Tempel des Herrn, der Tempel des Herrn, der Tempel des Herrn ist hier!"
5sondern bessert euren Wandel, bessert eure Taten! Wenn ihr wirklich Recht schafft zwischen den Leuten,
6wenn ihr Fremdling, Waise und Witwe nicht bedrückt und nicht unschuldiges Blut vergiesst an dieser Stätte und nicht andern Göttern nachlauft, euch selbst zum Unheil,
7so will ich euch an diesem Orte wohnen lassen, in dem Lande, das ich euren Vätern gegeben habe von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit.
8Seht, ihr verlasst euch auf die täuschenden Worte, die nichts nützen.
9Wie? da stiehlt man und mordet, bricht die Ehe und schwört Meineide, opfert dem Baal und läuft andern Göttern nach, die man nicht kennt -
10und dann kommt ihr und tretet vor mein Angesicht in diesem Hause, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, und sprecht: "Wir sind geborgen!" - um all diese Greuel (auch ferner) zu treiben!
11Ist denn dieses Haus, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, in euren Augen eine Räuberhöhle geworden? Auch ich, fürwahr, ich sehe es, spricht der Herr.
12Geht doch einmal zu meiner Stätte in Silo, wo ich meinen Namen zuvor habe wohnen lassen, und seht, was ich ihr um der Bosheit meines Volkes Israel willen getan habe! (a) Jos 18:1; 1Sa 1:3; Ps 78:60
13Und nun, weil ihr all diese Dinge tut, spricht der Herr, und weil ihr nicht hören wolltet, ob ich auch früh und spät zu euch redete, und nicht antworten wolltet, ob ich auch rief, (a) Jer 25:3; Jes 65:12
14so werde ich dem Hause, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist und auf das ihr vertraut, und dem Orte, den ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben, ebenso tun, wie ich Silo getan habe. (a) Jer 26:6
15Und ich will euch von meinem Angesichte verstossen, wie ich all eure Brüder, das ganze Geschlecht Ephraims, verstossen habe.
16Du aber, bete nicht für dieses Volk, erhebe für sie kein Flehen, kein Gebet, und dringe nicht in mich; denn ich erhöre dich nicht. (a) Jer 11:14; 14:11; 2Mo 32:10
17Siehst du nicht, was sie treiben in den Städten Judas und in den Gassen Jerusalems?
18Die Kinder lesen Holz auf, und die Väter zünden das Feuer an; die Frauen kneten den Teig, um der Himmelskönigin Kuchen zu backen, und fremden Göttern spendet man Trankopfer, um mir wehe zu tun. (a) Jer 44:19
19Tun sie denn mir wehe, spricht der Herr, nicht vielmehr sich selbst, dass ihr Antlitz erröten muss?
20Darum spricht der Herr also: Siehe, mein grimmiger Zorn ergiesst sich über diesen Ort, über die Menschen und über die Tiere, über alle Bäume des Feldes und über alle Früchte des Ackers - ein brennender, nie erlöschender Zorn.
21So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Häuft nur eure Brandopfer zu euren Schlachtopfern und esset Fleisch! (1) der Prophet brandmarkt den Wahn, als könnte der Mensch durch das blosse Essen von Opferfleisch bei den üblichen Opfermahlzeiten Gott näher kommen.
22Denn ich habe euren Vätern, als ich sie aus dem Lande Ägypten herausführte, nichts von Brandopfern und Schlachtopfern gesagt noch geboten, (a) Ps 40:7
23sondern dieses Gebot habe ich ihnen gegeben: Höret auf meine Stimme, so will ich euer Gott sein, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein, und wandelt ganz auf dem Wege, den ich euch gebiete, damit es euch wohl ergehe. (a) 3Mo 26:12
24Aber sie gehorchten nicht, schenkten mir kein Gehör, sondern wandelten nach den Ratschlägen ihres bösen Herzens, wandten mir den Rücken zu und nicht das Antlitz. (a) Jer 2:27; 11:8; 32:33
25"Von dem Tage an, da eure Väter auszogen aus dem Lande Ägypten, bis auf den heutigen Tag sandte ich zu euch all meine Knechte, die Propheten, Tag für Tag, früh und spät." (a) 2Ch 36:15
26Aber sie gehorchten mir nicht, schenkten mir kein Gehör, sondern waren halsstarrig, trieben es ärger als ihre Väter. (a) Jer 16:12
27Du wirst jetzt alle diese Worte zu ihnen reden, aber sie werden nicht auf dich hören; du wirst ihnen rufen, aber sie werden dir nicht antworten.
28Darum sollst du zu ihnen sagen: Das ist das Volk, das nicht hören wollte auf die Stimme des Herrn, seines Gottes, das keine Zurechtweisung annahm. Dahin ist die Wahrhaftigkeit, entschwunden ist sie aus ihrem Munde. (a) Jer 5:3
29Schere dein Haupthaar und wirf es hin, auf den Höhen erhebe die Klage; denn der Herr hat verworfen, verstossen das Geschlecht seines Grimms.
30Denn die Söhne Judas haben getan, was mir missfällt, spricht der Herr. Sie haben in das Haus, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, ihre Scheusale gestellt, es zu entweihen. (1) d.h. Götzen. (a) Jer 32:34; 2Kön 21:4
31Sie haben die Höhe des Thopheth im Tal Ben-Hinnom gebaut, um ihre Söhne und Töchter zu verbrennen, was ich ihnen niemals geboten habe und was mir nie in den Sinn gekommen ist. (a) Jer 19:5; 2Kön 23:10
32Darum siehe, es werden Tage kommen, spricht der Herr, da wird man nicht mehr "Thopheth" und "Tal Ben-Hinnom" sagen, sondern "Mordtal", und man wird im Thopheth begraben müssen, weil sonst kein Raum mehr ist. (a) Jer 19:6
33Und die Leichname dieses Volkes werden den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren der Erde zum Frasse dienen, und niemand wird sie verscheuchen. (a) Jer 19:7; 34:20; 5Mo 28:26
34Dann mache ich in den Städten Judas und in den Gassen Jerusalems ein Ende dem Freudenjubel und Jauchzen, dem Jubel des Bräutigams und dem Jubel der Braut; denn das Land wird zur Wüste werden. (a) Jer 16:9; 25:10; Jes 24:8

1PALABRA que fué de Jehová á Jeremías, diciendo:
2Ponte á la puerta de la casa de Jehová, y predica allí esta palabra, y di: Oid palabra de Jehová, todo Judá, los que entráis por estas puertas para adorar á Jehová.
3Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Mejorad vuestros caminos y vuestras obras, y os haré morar en este lugar.
4No fiéis en palabras de mentira, diciendo: Templo de Jehová, templo de Jehová, templo de Jehová es éste.
5Mas si mejorareis cumplidamente vuestros caminos y vuestras obras; si con exactitud hiciereis derecho entre el hombre y su prójimo,
6Ni oprimiereis al peregrino, al huérfano, y á la viuda, ni en este lugar derramareis la sangre inocente, ni anduviereis en pos de dioses ajenos para mal vuestro;
7Os haré morar en este lugar, en la tierra que dí á vuestros padres para siempre.
8He aquí vosotros os confiáis en palabras de mentira, que no aprovechan.
9¿Hurtando, matando, y adulterando, y jurando falso, é incensando á Baal, y andando tras dioses extraños que no conocisteis,
10Vendréis y os pondréis delante de mí en esta casa sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre, y diréis: Librados somos: para hacer todas estas abominaciones?
11¿Es cueva de ladrones delante de vuestros ojos esta casa, sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre? He aquí que también yo veo, dice Jehová.
12Andad empero ahora á mi lugar que fué en Silo, donde hice que morase mi nombre al principio, y ved lo que le hice por la maldad de mi pueblo Israel.
13Ahora pues, por cuanto habéis vosotros hecho todas estas obras, dice Jehová, y bien que os hablé, madrugando para hablar, no oísteis, y os llamé, y no respondisteis;
14Haré también á esta casa sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre, en la que vosotros confiáis, y á este lugar que dí á vosotros y á vuestros padres, como hice á Silo:
15Que os echaré de mi presencia como eché á todos vuestros hermanos, á toda la generación de Ephraim.
16Tú pues, no ores por este pueblo, ni levantes por ellos clamor ni oración, ni me ruegues; porque no te oiré.
17¿No ves lo que estos hacen en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalem?
18Los hijos cogen la leña, y los padres encienden el fuego, y las mujeres amasan la masa, para hacer tortas á la reina del cielo y para hacer ofrendas á dioses ajenos, por provocarme á ira.
19¿Provocaránme ellos á ira, dice Jehová, y no más bien obran ellos mismos para confusión de sus rostros?
20Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí que mi furor y mi ira se derrama sobre este lugar, sobre los hombres, sobre los animales, y sobre los árboles del campo, y sobre los frutos de la tierra; y encenderáse, y no se apagará.
21Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Añadid vuestros holocaustos sobre vuestros sacrificios, y comed carne.
22Porque no hablé yo con vuestros padres, ni les mandé el día que los saqué de la tierra de Egipto, acerca de holocaustos y de víctimas:
23Mas esto les mandé, diciendo: Escuchad mi voz, y seré á vosotros por Dios, y vosotros me seréis por pueblo; y andad en todo camino que os mandare, para que os vaya bien.
24Y no oyeron ni inclinaron su oído; antes caminaron en sus consejos, en la dureza de su corazón malvado, y fueron hacia atrás y no hacia adelante,
25Desde el día que vuestros padres salieron de la tierra de Egipto hasta hoy. Y os envié á todos los profetas mis siervos, cada día madrugando y enviándolos:
26Mas no me oyeron ni inclinaron su oído; antes endurecieron su cerviz, é hicieron peor que sus padres.
27Tú pues les dirás todas estas palabras, mas no te oirán; aun los llamarás, y no te responderán.
28Les dirás por tanto: Esta es la gente que no escuchó la voz de Jehová su Dios, ni tomó corrección; perdióse la fe, y de la boca de ellos fué cortada.
29Trasquila tu cabello, y arrójalo, y levanta llanto sobre las alturas; porque Jehová ha aborrecido y dejado la nación de su ira.
30Porque los hijos de Judá han hecho lo malo ante mis ojos, dice Jehová; pusieron sus abominaciones en la casa sobre la cual mi nombre fué invocado, amancillándola.
31Y han edificado los altos de Topheth, que es en el valle del hijo de Hinnom, para quemar al fuego sus hijos y sus hijas, cosa que yo no les mandé, ni subió en mi corazón.
32Por tanto, he aquí vendrán días, ha dicho Jehová, que no se diga más, Topheth, ni valle del hijo de Hinnom, sino Valle de la Matanza; y serán enterrados en Topheth, por no haber lugar.
33Y serán los cuerpos muertos de este pueblo para comida de las aves del cielo y de las bestias de la tierra; y no habrá quien las espante.
34Y haré cesar de las ciudades de Judá, y de la calles de Jerusalem, voz de gozo y voz de alegría, voz de esposo y voz de esposa; porque la tierra será en desolación.

1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
3Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
5For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
8Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
10And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
12But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
13And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
14Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
15And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
16Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
17Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
20Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
21Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
22For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
24But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
26Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
27Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
28But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.
31And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
32Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.
33And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
34Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2“Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim this word there, and say, ‘Hear the LORD’s word, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.’”
3The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says, “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4Don’t trust in lying words, saying, ‘The LORD’s temple, the LORD’s temple, the LORD’s temple, are these.’
5For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;
6if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt,
7then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forever more.
8Behold, you trust in lying words that can’t profit.

22For I didn’t speak to your fathers or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices;
23but this thing I commanded them, saying, ‘Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. Walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’
24But they didn’t listen or turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.
26Yet they didn’t listen to me or incline their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their fathers.
27“You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.
28You shall tell them, ‘This is the nation that has not listened to the LORD their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’
29Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30“For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight,” says the LORD. “They have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
31They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I didn’t command, nor did it come into my mind.
32Therefore behold, the days come”, says the LORD, “that it will no more be called ‘Topheth’ or ‘The valley of the son of Hinnom’, but ‘The valley of Slaughter’; for they will bury in Topheth until there is no place to bury.
33The dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. No one will frighten them away.
34Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a waste.”
