Ich schaute auf die Erde - siehe da, lauter Öde! schaute auf zum Himmel - dahin war sein Licht!

Miré la tierra, y he aquí que estaba asolada y vacía; y los cielos, y no había en ellos luz.

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
