1Das Wort, welches der Prophet Jeremia zu Baruch, dem Sohne Nerijas, sprach, als dieser im vierten Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, diese Worte nach dem Diktat Jeremias in ein Buch schrieb, lautet also:
2So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu dir, Baruch:
3Du hast gesagt: «O wehe mir, der HERR hat zu meinem Schmerz noch Kummer hinzugefügt! Ich bin müde vom Seufzen und finde keine Ruhe!»
4Sage zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, was ich gebaut habe, das breche ich ab, und was ich gepflanzt habe, das reiße ich aus, und zwar das ganze Land!
5Und du begehrst für dich Großes? Begehre es nicht! Denn siehe, ich bringe Unglück über alles Fleisch, spricht der HERR; aber dir will ich dein Leben zur Beute geben allenthalben, wohin du gehen wirst.

2Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel, á ti, oh Baruch:
3Tú dijiste: ¡Ay de mí ahora! porque me ha añadido Jehová tristeza sobre mi dolor; trabajé en mi gemido, y no he hallado descanso.
4Así le has de decir: Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que yo destruyo los que edifiqué, y arranco los que planté, y toda esta tierra.
5¿Y tú buscas para ti grandezas? No busques; porque he aquí que yo traigo mal sobre toda carne, ha dicho Jehová, y á ti te daré tu vida por despojo en todos los lugares adonde fueres.

3Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.
4Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.
5And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

3‘You said, “Woe is me now! For the LORD has added sorrow to my pain! I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.”’
4“You shall tell him, the LORD says: ‘Behold, that which I have built, I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.
5Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says the LORD, ‘but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’”
