1Als nun Jeremia dem ganzen Volke alle Worte des Herrn, ihres Gottes, mitgeteilt hatte, alle jene Worte, mit denen ihn der Herr, ihr Gott, zu ihnen gesandt,
2da sprachen Asarja, der Sohn Hosajas, und Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und die andern Männer zu Jeremia: Es ist nicht wahr, was du da sagst! Der Herr, unser Gott, hat dich nicht gesandt, zu sagen: "Geht nicht nach Ägypten, um dort in der Fremde zu wohnen!"
3sondern Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, reizt dich gegen uns auf, um uns in die Hand der Chaldäer zu geben, dass sie uns töten oder nach Babel in die Verbannung führen.
4So hörten denn Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und alle Heeresobersten und das ganze Volk nicht auf den Befehl des Herrn, im Lande Juda zu bleiben,
5sondern Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und alle Heeresobersten nahmen den ganzen Rest von Juda, alle, die aus allen Völkern, unter die sie sich zerstreut hatten, heimgekehrt waren, um im Lande Juda zu wohnen:
6Männer, Frauen und Kinder, und die Prinzessinnen, kurz, alle Seelen, die Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, bei Gedalja, dem Sohne Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans, gelassen hatte, auch den Propheten Jeremia und Baruch, den Sohn Nerias,
7und zogen nach dem Lande Ägypten; denn sie waren dem Befehl des Herrn nicht gehorsam. Und sie kamen bis Thachpanhes. (1) d.i. Daphne.
8UND es erging das Wort des Herrn in Thachpanhes an Jeremia also:
9Nimm grosse Steine zur Hand und grabe sie heimlich ein am Eingang des Hauses des Pharao in Thachpanhes vor den Augen jüdischer Männer
10und sage zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich sende hin und hole Nebukadrezar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht, und er wird seinen Thron über diesen Steinen, die du vergraben hast, aufstellen und seinen Prachtteppich darüber ausbreiten.
11Und wenn er kommt, wird er das Land Ägypten schlagen: dem Tode verfällt, was dem Tode gehört, der Gefangenschaft, was der Gefangenschaft, dem Schwerte, was dem Schwerte gehört. (a) Jer 15:2
12Und er wird Feuer legen an die Tempel der Götter Ägyptens, wird jene verbrennen, diese aber gefangen wegführen. Und er wird das Land Ägypten lausen, wie der Hirte sein Gewand laust, und darnach wird er wohlbehalten von dannen ziehen. (a) Jer 46:25
13Die Obelisken von Beth-Semes im Lande Ägypten wird er zerbrechen, und die Tempel der Götter Ägyptens wird er verbrennen. (1) hebr. Name der ägyptischen Stadt On, die bei den Griechen Heliopolis heisst.

1Y ACONTECIÓ que como Jeremías acabó de hablar á todo el pueblo todas las palabras de Jehová Dios de ellos, todas estas palabras por las cuales Jehová Dios de ellos le había enviado á ellos mismos,
2Dijo Azarías hijo de Osaías, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los varones soberbios dijeron á Jeremías: Mentira dices; no te ha enviado Jehová nuestro Dios para decir: No entréis en Egipto á peregrinar allí.
3Sino que Baruch hijo de Nerías te incita contra nosotros, para entregarnos en mano de los Caldeos, para matarnos y para hacernos trasportar á Babilonia.
4No obedeció pues Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra, y todo el pueblo, á la voz de Jehová para quedarse en tierra de Judá;
5Antes tomó Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los oficiales de la gente de guerra, á todo el resto de Judá, que de todas las gentes adonde habían sido echados habían vuelto para morar en tierra de Judá:
6A hombres, y mujeres, y niños, y á las hijas del rey, y á toda alma que había dejado Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia con Gedalías hijo de Ahicam hijo de Saphán, y á Jeremías profeta, y á Baruch hijo de Nerías;
7Y entraron en tierra de Egipto; porque no obedecieron á la voz de Jehová: y llegaron hasta Taphnes.
8Y fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías en Taphnes, diciendo:
9Toma con tu mano piedras grandes, y cúbrelas de barro en un horno de ladrillos que está á la puerta de la casa de Faraón en Taphnes, á vista de hombres Judíos;
10Y diles: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo envío, y tomaré á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y pondré su trono sobre estas piedras que he escondido, y tenderá su dosel sobre ellas.
11Y vendrá, y herirá la tierra de Egipto: los que á muerte, á muerte, y los que á cautiverio, á cautiverio, y los que á cuchillo, á cuchillo.
12Y pondré fuego á las casas de los dioses de Egipto; y las quemará, y á ellos llevará cautivos; y él se vestirá la tierra de Egipto, como el pastor se viste su capa, y saldrá de allá en paz.
13Además, quebrará las estatuas de Beth-semes, que es en tierra de Egipto, y las casas de los dioses de Egipto quemará á fuego.

1And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
2Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
3But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.
4So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
5But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations, whither they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;
6Even men, and women, and children, and the king’s daughters, and every person that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
7So they came into the land of Egypt: for they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: thus came they even to Tahpanhes.
8Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
9Take great stones in thine hand, and hide them in the clay in the brickkiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;
10And say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
11And when he cometh, he shall smite the land of Egypt, and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.
12And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
13He shall break also the images of Beth-shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.

1When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, with which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
2then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, “You speak falsely. The LORD our God has not sent you to say, ‘You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’
3but Baruch the son of Neriah has turned you against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death or carry us away captive to Babylon.”
4So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn’t obey the LORD’s voice, to dwell in the land of Judah.
5But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces took all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah—
6the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.
7They came into the land of Egypt, for they didn’t obey the LORD’s voice; and they came to Tahpanhes.
8Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
9“Take great stones in your hand and hide them in mortar in the brick work which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah.
10Tell them, the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
11He will come, and will strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death will be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.
12I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt. He will burn them, and carry them away captive. He will array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he will go out from there in peace.
13He will also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh that is in the land of Egypt; and he will burn the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.’”
