Jeremías 35

1Parole adressée à Jérémie par l'Eternel au temps de Joïakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, en ces termes:
2Va trouver la famille des Rêkhabites, adresse-leur la parole, et amène-les au temple du Seigneur, dans une des salles; et là tu leur offriras du vin à boire.
3J'allai donc chercher Yazania, fils de Jérémie, fils de Habacinia, avec ses frères, tous ses fils et toute la famille des Rêkhabites,
4et je les amenai au temple du Seigneur, dans la salle des fils de Hanan, fils de Ygdalia, l'homme de Dieu, salle qui était proche de la salle des grands et au-dessus de la salle de Masséya, fils de Challoum, le gardien du seuil.
5Je plaçai devant les membres de la famille des Rêkhabites des calices remplis de vin et des coupes, et je leur dis: Buvez du vin.
6Mais ils répondirent: "Nous ne buvons pas de vin! car notre père Jonadab, fils de Rêkhab, nous l'a défendu en disant: Vous ne boirez jamais de vin, ni vous ni vos enfants.
7Vous ne bâtirez pas non plus de maison, vous ne sèmerez pas de graines, vous ne planterez pas de vignes et ne posséderez rien de tout cela; mais vous habiterez sous des tentes pendant toute votre existence, afin que vous viviez de longs jours sur le sol où vous séjournerez.
8Or, nous avons écouté la voix de notre père Jonadab, fils de Rêkhab, suivi toutes ses prescriptions, en nous abstenant de boire du vin notre vie durant, nous, nos femmes, nos fils et nos filles;
9de construire des maisons pour y demeurer, de posséder des vignes, des champs et des graines pour ensemencer.
10Nous avons habité sous des tentes; nous avons exécuté docilement tout ce que nous avait prescrit Jonadab, notre père.
11Seulement, quand Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a envahi ce pays, nous nous sommes dit: Allons, retirons-nous à Jérusalem devant l'armée des Chaldéens et devant l'armée des Araméens. C'est ainsi que nous nous sommes établis à Jérusalem."
12Alors la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jérémie en ces termes:
13"Ainsi parle l'Eternel-Cebaot, Dieu d'Israël: Va et dis aux gens de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem: Ne profiterez-vous pas de la leçon, en obéissant à mes commandements? dit l'Eternel.
14On a exécuté les ordres de Jonadab, fils de Rêkhab, qui prescrivait à ses enfants de ne pas boire de vin: ils n'en ont pas bu jusqu'à ce jour, dociles aux recommandations de leur père, et moi, je vous ai adressé la parole chaque matin, sans relâche, sans que vous m'ayez écouté!
15Je vous ai envoyé tous mes serviteurs, les prophètes, sans fin ni trêve, pour vous dire: Que chacun de vous revienne de sa voie pernicieuse, amendez vos actes, ne suivez pas le culte des dieux étrangers; de la sorte, vous demeurerez sur le sol que je vous ai donné, à vous et à vos ancêtres. Mais vous n'avez point prêté l'oreille, vous ne m'avez pas écouté.
16Les enfants de Jonadab, fils de Rêkhab, ont exécuté, eux, l'ordre que leur avait donné leur père, tandis que ce peuple ne m'a point obéi.
17C'est pourquoi l'Eternel, Dieu-Cebaot, Dieu d'Israël, parle ainsi: Voici, je vais faire fondre sur Juda et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem tous les maux que j'ai décrétés contre eux, puisque je leur ai parlé et qu'ils n'ont point écouté, puisque je les ai appelés et qu'ils n'ont pas répondu! "
18Mais à la famille des Rêkhabites Jérémie dit: "Ainsi parle l'Eternel-Cebaot, Dieu d'Israël: Puisque vous avez obéi à l'ordre de Jonadab, votre père, observé toutes ses prescriptions et exécuté tout ce qu'il vous a recommandé,
19c'est pourquoi, dit l'Eternel-Cebaot, Dieu d'Israël, en aucun temps, il ne manquera à Jonadab, fils de Rêkhab, des hommes pour se tenir en ma présence."

1PALABRA que fué á Jeremías de Jehová en días de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, diciendo:
2Ve á casa de los Rechâbitas, y habla con ellos, é introdúcelos en la casa de Jehová, en una de las cámaras, y dales á beber vino.
3Tomé entonces á Jaazanías hijo de Jeremías, hijo de Habassinías, y á sus hermanos, y á todos sus hijos, y á toda la familia de los Rechâbitas;
4Y metílos en la casa de Jehová, en la cámara de los hijos de Hanán, hijo de Igdalías, varón de Dios, la cual estaba junto á la cámara de los príncipes, que estaba sobre la cámara de Maasías hijo de Sallum, guarda de los vasos.
5Y puse delante de los hijos de la familia de los Rechâbitas tazas y copas llenas de vino, y díjeles: Bebed vino.
6Mas ellos dijeron: No beberemos vino; porque Jonadab hijo de Rechâb nuestro padre nos mandó, diciendo: No beberéis jamás vino vosotros ni vuestros hijos:
7Ni edificaréis casa, ni sembraréis sementera, ni plantaréis viña, ni la tendréis: mas moraréis en tiendas todos vuestros días, para que viváis muchos días sobre la haz de la tierra donde vosotros peregrináis.
8Y nosotros hemos obedecido á la voz de Jonadab nuestro padre, hijo de Rechâb, en todas las cosas que nos mandó, de no beber vino en todos nuestros días, nosotros, ni nuestras mujeres, ni nuestros hijos, ni nuestras hijas;
9Y de no edificar casas para nuestra morada, y de no tener viña, ni heredad, ni sementera.
10Moramos pues en tiendas, y hemos obedecido y hecho conforme á todas las cosas que nos mandó Jonadab nuestro padre.
11Sucedió, empero, que cuando Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia subió á la tierra, dijimos: Venid, y entrémonos en Jerusalem, de delante del ejército de los Caldeos y de delante del ejército de los de Siria: y en Jerusalem nos quedamos.
12Y fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías, diciendo:
13Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Ve, y di á los varones de Judá, y á los moradores de Jerusalem: ¿No recibiréis instrucción para obedecer á mis palabras? dice Jehová.
14Fué firme la palabra de Jonadab hijo de Rechâb, el cual mandó á sus hijos que no bebiesen vino, y no lo han bebido hasta hoy, por obedecer al mandamiento de su padre; y yo os he hablado á vosotros, madrugando y hablando, y no me habéis oído.
15Y envié á vosotros á todos mis siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos á decir: Tornaos ahora cada uno de su mal camino, y enmendad vuestras obras, y no vayáis tras dioses ajenos para servirles, y viviréis en la tierra que dí á vosotros y á vuestros padres: mas no inclinasteis vuestro oído, ni me oísteis.
16Ciertamente los hijos de Jonadab, hijo de Rechâb, tuvieron por firme el mandamiento que les dió su padre; mas este pueblo no me ha obedecido.
17Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí traeré yo sobre Judá y sobre todos los moradores de Jerusalem todo el mal que contra ellos he hablado: porque les hablé, y no oyeron; llamélos, y no han respondido.
18Y dijo Jeremías á la familia de los Rechâbitas: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Porque obedecisteis al mandamiento de Jonadab vuestro padre, y guardasteis todos sus mandamientos, é hicisteis conforme á todas las cosas que os mandó;
19Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: No faltará varón de Jonadab, hijo de Rechâb, que esté en mi presencia todos los días.

1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
6But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
7Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
8Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
9Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
13Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
15I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
17Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
18And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
19Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

2“Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the LORD’s house, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.”
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, with his brothers, all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4and I brought them into the LORD’s house, into the room of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the room of the princes, which was above the room of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold.
5I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, “Drink wine!”
6But they said, “We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, ‘You shall drink no wine, neither you nor your children, forever.
7You shall not build a house, sow seed, plant a vineyard, or have any; but all your days you shall dwell in tents, that you may live many days in the land in which you live as nomads.’
8We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters;
9and not to build houses for ourselves to dwell in. We have no vineyard, field, or seed;
10but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, we said, ‘Come! Let’s go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we will dwell at Jerusalem.’”
12Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,
13“The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, “Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words?” says the LORD.
14“The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father’s commandment; but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking, and you have not listened to me.
15I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Every one of you must return now from his evil way, amend your doings, and don’t go after other gods to serve them. Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers;’ but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.
16The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to me.”’
17“Therefore the LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.’”
18Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, “The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you,’
19therefore the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jonadab the son of Rechab will not lack a man to stand before me forever.’”
