Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

"Ve y proclama en la asamblea de Jerusalén. Di: 'El SEÑOR dice: He traido a la memoria tu parte del pacto de fidelidad en tu juventud, tu amor en aquel tiempo cuando estábamos comprometidos, cuando fuiste tras de mí en el desierto, la tierra que no estaba arada.
Anda, y clama á los oídos de Jerusalem, diciendo: Así dice Jehová: Heme acordado de ti, de la misericordia de tu mocedad, del amor de tu desposorio, cuando andabas en pos de mí en el desierto, en tierra no sembrada.
Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
“Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘The LORD says, “I remember for you the kindness of your youth, your love as a bride, how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
Israel fue separado para el SEÑOR, ¡las primicias de Su cosecha! Todo aquel que comiera de las primicias era culpable; destrucción venía sobre ellos- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR.'"
Santidad era Israel á Jehová, primicias de sus nuevos frutos. Todos los que le devoran pecarán; mal vendrá sobre ellos, dice Jehová.
Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
Israel was holiness to the LORD, the first fruits of his increase. All who devour him will be held guilty. Evil will come on them,”’ says the LORD.”

Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

El SEÑOR dice: "¿Qué encontraron mal tus padres en Mí que se apartaron y no me siguieron? ¿Que se fueron tras ídolos inútiles y se volvieron inútiles ellos mismos?
Así dijo Jehová: ¿Qué maldad hallaron en mí vuestros padres, que se alejaron de mí, y se fueron tras la vanidad, y tornáronse vanos?
Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
The LORD says, “What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after worthless vanity, and have become worthless?
Ellos no dijeron: '¿Dónde está el SEÑOR, quien nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto? ¿Dónde está el SEÑOR, quien nos guió al desierto, en la tierra de los árabes y los pozos, en una tierra de sequía y oscuridad profunda, una tierra por la cual nadie pasa y donde nadie vive?'
Y no dijeron: ¿Dónde está Jehová, que nos hizo subir de tierra de Egipto, que nos hizo andar por el desierto, por una tierra desierta y despoblada, por tierra seca y de sombra de muerte, por una tierra por la cual no pasó varón, ni allí habitó hombre?
Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
They didn’t say, ‘Where is the LORD who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that no one passed through, and where no man lived?’
Pero Yo los traje a la tierra de Carmelo, ¡para comer sus frutos y otras cosas buenas! Aún cuando vinieron, contaminaron mi tierra, ¡hicieron de mi herencia una abominación!
Y os metí en tierra de Carmelo, para que comieseis su fruto y su bien: mas entrasteis, y contaminasteis mi tierra, é hicisteis mi heredad abominable.
And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

El sacerdote no dijo: '¿Dónde está el SEÑOR? y ¡a los expertos en la Ley no les importé! Los pastores transgredieron en mi contra. Los profetas profetizaron para Baal y caminaron tras cosas inútiles.
Los sacerdotes no dijeron: ¿Dónde está Jehová? y los que tenían la ley no me conocieron; y los pastores se rebelaron contra mí, y los profetas profetizaron en Baal, y anduvieron tras lo que no aprovecha.
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
The priests didn’t say, ‘Where is the LORD?’ and those who handle the law didn’t know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and followed things that do not profit.
Así que Yo te acusaré aún- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR- y Yo acusaré a los hijos de tus hijos.
Por tanto entraré aún en juicio con vosotros, dijo Jehová, y con los hijos de vuestros hijos pleitearé.
Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.
“Therefore I will yet contend with you,” says the LORD, “and I will contend with your children’s children.
Pues cruzen a la costa de Quitim (Chipre) y miren. Envíen mensajeros a Cedar y busquen y vean si alguna vez antes ha ocurrido algo así.
Porque pasad á las islas de Chîttim y mirad; y enviad á Cedar, y considerad cuidadosamente, y ved si se ha hecho cosa semejante á ésta:
For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
For pass over to the islands of Kittim, and see. Send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there has been such a thing.
¿Ha habido una nación que ha cambiado dioses, aún cuando no eran dioses? Pero mi pueblo ha cambiado su gloria por lo que no les puede ayudar.
Si alguna gente ha mudado sus dioses, bien que ellos no son dioses. Pero mi pueblo ha trocado su gloria por lo que no aprovecha.
Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Has a nation changed its gods, which really are no gods? But my people have changed their glory for that which doesn’t profit.
¡Estremézcanse, cielos, por causa de esto! Sean conmocionados y espántense- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR.
Espantaos, cielos, sobre esto, y horrorizaos; desolaos en gran manera, dijo Jehová.
Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
“Be astonished, you heavens, at this and be horribly afraid. Be very desolate,” says the LORD.
Pues mi pueblo ha cometio dos males contra Mí: Ellos han abandonado los manatiales de aguas vivas, y han cabado cisternas para ellos mismos, cisternas rotas que no pueden retener agua.
Porque dos males ha hecho mi pueblo: dejáronme á mí, fuente de agua viva, por cavar para sí cisternas, cisternas rotas que no detienen aguas.
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
“For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut out cisterns for themselves: broken cisterns that can’t hold water.
¿Es Israel un esclavo? ¿Nació en la casa de su amo? Entonces, ¿por qué ha sido saqueado?
¿Es Israel siervo? ¿es esclavo? ¿por qué ha sido dado en presa?
Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
Is Israel a slave? Is he born into slavery? Why has he become a captive?
Leones jóvenes han rugido en contra él. Ellos han hecho mucho ruido y convertieron su tierra en un espanto. Sus ciudades fueron destruidas sin ningún habitante.
Los cachorros de los leones bramaron sobre él, dieron su voz; y pusieron su tierra en soledad; quemadas están sus ciudades, sin morador.
The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
The young lions have roared at him and raised their voices. They have made his land waste. His cities are burned up, without inhabitant.
También, los pueblos de Menfis y Tafnes te afeitarán la cabeza.
Aun los hijos de Noph y de Taphnes te quebrantaron la mollera.
Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.
The children also of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of your head.
¿No se hicieron esto a ustedes mismos cuando abandonaron al SEÑOR tu Dios, mientras Él los estaba guiando?
¿No te acarreó esto tu dejar á Jehová tu Dios, cuando te hacía andar por camino?
Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
“Haven’t you brought this on yourself, in that you have forsaken the LORD your God, when he led you by the way?
Así que ahora, ¿por qué toman el camino a Egipto y beben de las aguas del Nilo? ¿Por qué toman el camino a Asiria y beben aguas del Río Eufrates?
Ahora pues, ¿qué tienes tú en el camino de Egipto, para que bebas agua del Nilo? ¿y qué tienes tú en el camino de Asiria, para que bebas agua del río?
And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
Now what do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or why do you go on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
Tu maldad te reprende y tu falta de fe te castiga. Así que piensa en esto y comprende que es malvado y amargo cuando abandonas al SEÑOR tu Dios, y no temes a mí- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR de los Ejércitos.
Tu maldad te castigará, y tu apartamiento te condenará: sabe pues y ve cuán malo y amargo es tu dejar á Jehová tu Dios, y faltar mi temor en ti, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backsliding will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
Pues Yo rompí tu yugo que tenías en tiempos antiguos; rompí tus cadenas. Aún dijiste: '¡No te serviré!' desde que te inclinaste en cada colina alta debajo de todo árbol frondoso, tú, adúltero.
Porque desde muy atrás he quebrado tu yugo, y roto tus ataduras; y dijiste: No serviré. Con todo eso, sobre todo collado alto y debajo de todo árbol umbroso, corrías tú, oh ramera.
For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
“For long ago I broke off your yoke, and burst your bonds. You said, ‘I will not serve;’ for on every high hill and under every green tree you bowed yourself, playing the prostitute.
Te planté como viña escogida, completamente de una semilla pura. ¿Cómo entonces te haz cambiado en una viña corrupta, vid sin valor?
Y yo te planté de buen vidueño, simiente verdadera toda ella: ¿cómo pues te me has tornado sarmientos de vid extraña?
Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a pure and faithful seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate branches of a foreign vine to me?
Pues aun si te limpias en el río o te lavas con un jabón fuerte, tu iniquidad es una mancha ante Mí- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR Dios.
Aunque te laves con lejía, y amontones jabón sobre ti, tu pecado está sellado delante de mí, dijo el Señor Jehová.
For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me,” says the Lord GOD.
¿Cómo puedes decir: '¡Yo no estoy contaminado! No he caminado tras los baales'? ¡Mira lo que hicistes en los valles! Considera lo que haz hecho- ¡eres una camella rápida corriendo aquí y allá,
¿Cómo dices: No soy inmunda, nunca anduve tras los Baales? Mira tu proceder en el valle, conoce lo que has hecho, dromedaria ligera que frecuentas sus carreras;
How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. You are a swift dromedary traversing her ways,
un asna salvaje acostumbrada al desierto, en su calor oliendo el viento! ¿Quién puede detener su lujuria? Ninguno de los machos necesita agotarse para perseguirla; al tiempo de apareo ellos la encontrarán.
Asna montés acostumbrada al desierto, que respira como quiere; ¿de su ocasión quién la detendrá? Todos los que la buscaren no se cansarán; hallaránla en su mes.
A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that sniffs the wind in her craving. When she is in heat, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves. In her month, they will find her.
¡Debes guardar tus pies de quedar desnudos y tu garganta de tener sed! Pero tú dijiste: '¡No hay esperanza! No, ¡Yo amo a los extraños y voy tras ellos!'
Defiende tus pies de andar descalzos, y tu garganta de la sed. Mas dijiste: Hase perdido la esperanza; en ninguna manera: porque extraños he amado, y tras ellos tengo de ir.
Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
“Keep your feet from being bare, and your throat from thirst. But you said, ‘It is in vain. No, for I have loved strangers, and I will go after them.’
Como la vergüenza de un asaltante cuando es hallado, ¡así la casa de Israel será avergonzada- ellos, sus reyes, sus príncipes, y sus sacerdotes y profetas!
Como se avergüenza el ladrón cuando es tomado, así se avergonzarán la casa de Israel, ellos, sus reyes, sus príncipes, sus sacerdotes, y sus profetas;
As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,

Estos son los que le dicen al árbol: 'Tú eres mi padre,' y a la piedra: 'Tú me diste a luz.' Pues me han dado su espalda y no sus rostros. No obstante, en tiempos de problemas dicen: '¡Levántate y sálvanos!'
Que dicen al leño: Mi padre eres tú; y á la piedra: Tú me has engendrado: pues me volvieron la cerviz, y no el rostro; y en el tiempo de su trabajo dicen: Levántate, y líbranos.
Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
who tell wood, ‘You are my father,’ and a stone, ‘You have given birth to me,’ for they have turned their back to me, and not their face, but in the time of their trouble they will say, ‘Arise, and save us!’
Pero entonces ¿dónde están los dioses que hicieron para ustedes mismos? ¡Deja que ellos se levanten si ellos desean salvarlos en tus tiempos de problemas, pues tus ídolos equivalen el número de tus ciudades, Judá!
¿Y dónde están tus dioses que hiciste para ti? Levántense, á ver si te podrán librar en el tiempo de tu aflicción: porque según el número de tus ciudades, oh Judá, fueron tus dioses.
But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
“But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble, for you have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah.
Entonces ¿por qué me acusas de hacer el mal? Todos ustedes han pecado contra Mí- esta es la declaración del SEÑOR.
¿Por qué porfías conmigo? Todos vosotros prevaricasteis contra mí, dice Jehová.
Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
“Why will you contend with me? You all have transgressed against me,” says the LORD.
Yo he castigado a tu pueblo en vano. Ellos no aceptan la disciplina. ¡Tu espada ha devorado tus profetas como un león destructivo!
Por demás he azotado vuestros hijos; no han recibido corrección. Cuchillo devoró vuestros profetas como león destrozador.
In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
“I have struck your children in vain. They received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
Tú quien perteneces a esta generación! ¡Pon atención a Mi palabra, la palabra del SEÑOR! ¿He sido un desierto para Israel? o ¿Una tierra de gran oscuridad? ¿Por qué el pueblo dice: 'Vamos a divagar, no iremos donde Ti nunca más'?
¡Oh generación! ved vosotros la palabra de Jehová. ¿He sido yo á Israel soledad, ó tierra de tinieblas? ¿Por qué ha dicho mi pueblo: Señores somos; nunca más vendremos á ti?
O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
Generation, consider the LORD’s word. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We have broken loose. We will come to you no more’?
¿Acaso una virgen olvidará sus joyas, una esposa su velo? ¡Sin embargo, mi pueblo me ha olvidado por días sin número!
¿Olvídase la virgen de su atavío, ó la desposada de sus sartales? mas mi pueblo se ha olvidado de mí por días que no tienen número.
Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.
Cuan bien haces tus caminos para buscar amor. Incluso haz enseñado el camino de la mujer malvada.
¿Por qué abonas tu camino para hallar amor, pues aun á las malvadas enseñaste tus caminos?
Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have even taught the wicked women your ways.
La sangre que era la vida de los inocentes, gentes pobres han sido halladas en tus ropas. Estas gentes no fueron halladas en actos de robo.
Aun en tus faldas se halló la sangre de las almas de los pobres, de los inocentes: no la hallé en excavación, sino en todas estas cosas.
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You didn’t find them breaking in, but it is because of all these things.
Sin embargo dices: 'Yo soy inocente; seguramente su coraje se ha alejado de mí.' ¡Pero mira! Traeré juicio sobre ti porque dices: 'Yo no he pecado.'
Y dices: Porque soy inocente, de cierto su ira se apartó de mí. He aquí yo entraré en juicio contigo, porque dijiste: No he pecado.
Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
“Yet you said, ‘I am innocent. Surely his anger has turned away from me.’ “Behold, I will judge you, because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’
¿Por qué tratas tan livianamente este cambio en tus caminos? Tú también serás decepcionada por Egipto, así como lo fuiste por Asiria.
¿Para qué discurres tanto, mudando tus caminos? También serás avergonzada de Egipto, como fuiste avergonzada de Asiria.
Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
Why do you go about so much to change your ways? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.
Tú también saldrás de allí abatida con las manos en la cabeza, pues el SEÑOR ha rechazado a aquellos en quienes confiaste, así que no serás ayudada por ellos."
También saldrás de él con tus manos sobre tu cabeza: porque Jehová deshechó tus confianzas, y en ellas no tendrás buen suceso.
Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
You will also leave that place with your hands on your head; for the LORD has rejected those in whom you trust, and you won’t prosper with them.
