1Au commencement du règne de Jéhojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, cette parole-ci fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de l'Eternel.
2Ainsi m'a dit l'Eternel : Fais-toi des liens et des jougs, et mets-les sur ton cou.
3Puis envoie-les au roi d'Edom, au roi de Moab, au roi des fils d'Ammon, au roi de Tyr et au roi de Sidon, par les ambassadeurs venus à Jérusalem vers Sédécias, roi de Juda ;
4et commande-leur de dire à leurs maîtres : Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël : Voici comment vous parlerez à vos maîtres :
5C'est moi qui par ma grande puissance et par mon bras étendu ai fait la terre, l'homme et les bêtes qui sont sur la face de la terre, et je la donne à qui il me plaît.
6Maintenant, c'est moi qui ai donné toutes ces contrées aux mains de Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur ; je lui ai donné même les animaux des champs pour le servir.
7Et toutes les nations lui seront assujetties, à lui, à son fils et au fils de son fils, jusqu'à ce que vienne le temps de son pays, à lui aussi, et que de nombreuses nations et de grands rois l'assujettissent.
8Et le peuple et le royaume qui ne se soumettront pas à lui, Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, et celui qui ne mettra pas son cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone, ce peuple-là, je le visiterai par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste, dit l'Eternel, jusqu'à ce que je l'achève par sa main.
9Et vous, n'écoutez pas vos prophètes, ni vos devins, ni vos songes, ni vos augures, ni vos magiciens, qui vous disent : Vous ne serez point assujettis au roi de Babylone,
10C'est un mensonge qu'ils vous prophétisent pour vous éloigner de votre pays, pour que je vous chasse et que vous périssiez.
11Et la nation qui mettra son cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone pour le servir, je la laisserai en repos dans son pays, dit l'Eternel ; elle le cultivera et y demeurera.
12Puis je tins le même langage à Sédécias, roi de Juda, lui disant. Mettez vos cous sous le joug du roi de Babylone et servez-le, lui et son peuple, et vivez !
13Pourquoi mourriez-vous, toi et ton peuple, par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste, comme l'Eternel l'a dit au peuple qui ne voudra pas servir le roi de Babylone ?
14N'écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes qui vous disent : Vous ne serez point assujettis au roi de Babylone. Car c'est un mensonge qu'ils vous prophétisent ;
15car je ne les ai point envoyés, dit l'Eternel, et ils prophétisent en mon nom faussement, afin que je vous chasse et que vous périssiez, vous et les prophètes qui vous prophétisent.
16Je parlai aussi aux sacrificateurs et à tout ce peuple, et je leur dis : Ainsi parle l'Eternel : N'écoutez point les paroles de vos prophètes, qui vous prophétisent en disant : Voici, les meubles de la maison de l'Eternel vont être ramenés bientôt de Babylone. C'est un mensonge qu'il vous prophétisent.
17Ne les écoutez point ; soumettez-vous au roi de Babylone, et vivez : pourquoi cette ville serait-elle réduite en dévastation ?
18S'ils sont prophètes, si la parole de l'Eternel est avec eux, eh bien ! qu'ils intercèdent auprès de l'Eternel des armées pour que les meubles qui sont restés dans la maison de l'Eternel, dans celle du roi de Juda et à Jérusalem, ne s'en aillent pas à Babylone !
19Car ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées au sujet des colonnes et de la mer et des porte-bassins et du reste des meubles laissés dans cette ville,
20que Nébucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, n'a point pris, quand il emmena de Jérusalem à Babylone Jéchonias, fils de Jéhojakim, roi de Juda, et tous les notables de Juda et de Jérusalem ;
21ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël, au sujet des meubles restés dans la maison de l'Eternel et dans celle du roi de Juda et à Jérusalem :
22Ils seront emmenés à Babylone et ils y resteront jusqu'au jour où je les visiterai, dit l'Eternel, et où je les ferai remonter et revenir dans ce lieu-ci.

1EN el principio del reinado de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, fué de Jehová esta palabra á Jeremías, diciendo:
2Jehová me ha dicho así: Hazte coyundas y yugos, y ponlos sobre tu cuello;
3Y los enviarás al rey de Edom, y al rey de Moab, y al rey de los hijos de Ammón, y al rey de Tiro, y al rey de Sidón, por mano de los embajadores que vienen á Jerusalem á Sedechîas, rey de Judá.
4Y les mandarás que digan á sus señores: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Así habéis de decir á vuestros señores:
5Yo hice la tierra, el hombre y las bestias que están sobre la haz de la tierra, con mi grande potencia y con mi brazo extendido, y díla á quien me plugo.
6Y ahora yo he dado todas estas tierras en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y aun las bestias del campo le he dado para que le sirvan.
7Y todas las gentes le servirán á él, y á su hijo, y al hijo de su hijo, hasta que venga también el tiempo de su misma tierra; y le servirán muchas gentes y reyes grandes.
8Y será, que la gente y el reino que no sirviere á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y que no pusiere su cuello debajo del yugo del rey de Babilonia, con espada y con hambre y con pestilencia visitaré á la tal gente, dice Jehová, hasta que los acabe yo por su mano.
9Y vosotros no prestéis oído á vuestros profetas, ni á vuestros adivinos, ni á vuestros sueños, ni á vuestros agoreros, ni á vuestros encantadores, que os hablan diciendo: No serviréis al rey de Babilonia.
10Porque ellos os profetizan mentira, por haceros alejar de vuestra tierra, y para que yo os arroje y perezcáis.
11Mas la gente que sometiere su cuello al yugo del rey de Babilonia, y le sirviere, haréla dejar en su tierra, dice Jehová, y labrarála, y morará en ella.
12Y hablé también á Sedechîas rey de Judá conforme á todas estas palabras, diciendo: Someted vuestros cuellos al yugo del rey de Babilonia, y servid á él y á su pueblo, y vivid.
13¿Por qué moriréis, tú y tu pueblo, á cuchillo, de hambre, y pestilencia, según ha dicho Jehová á la gente que no sirviere al rey de Babilonia?
14No oigáis las palabras de los profetas que os hablan, diciendo: No serviréis al rey de Babilonia; porque os profetizan mentira.
15Porque yo no los envié, dice Jehová, y ellos profetizan falsamente en mi nombre, para que yo os arroje, y perezcáis, vosotros y los profetas que os profetizan.
16También á los sacerdotes y á todo este pueblo hablé, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: No oigáis las palabras de vuestros profetas que os profetizan diciendo: He aquí que los vasos de la casa de Jehová volverán de Babilonia ahora presto. Porque os profetizan mentira.
17No los oigáis; servid al rey de Babilonia, y vivid: ¿por qué ha de ser desierta esta ciudad?
18Y si ellos son profetas, y si es con ellos palabra de Jehová, oren ahora á Jehová de los ejércitos, que los vasos que han quedado en la casa de Jehová y en la casa del rey de Judá y en Jerusalem, no vayan á Babilonia.
19Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos de aquellas columnas, y del mar, y de las basas, y del resto de los vasos que quedan en esta ciudad,
20Que no quitó Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, cuando trasportó de Jerusalem á Babilonia á Jechônías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y á todos los nobles de Judá y de Jerusalem:
21Así pues ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, acerca de los vasos que quedaron en la casa de Jehová, y en la casa del rey de Judá, y en Jerusalem:
22A Babilonia serán trasportados, y allí estarán hasta el día en que yo los visitaré, dice Jehová; y después los haré subir, y restituirélos á este lugar.

1In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,
3And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;
4And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
5I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
8And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
9Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
10For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
11But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
12I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
13Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
15For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
16Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
17Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?
18But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
19For thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,
20Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
21Yea, thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
22They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the LORD; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

2the LORD says to me: “Make bonds and bars, and put them on your neck.
3Then send them to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the children of Ammon, to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.
4Give them a command to their masters, saying, ‘The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says, “You shall tell your masters:
5‘I have made the earth, the men, and the animals that are on the surface of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm. I give it to whom it seems right to me.
6Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant. I have also given the animals of the field to him to serve him.

14Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.
15For I have not sent them,” says the LORD, “but they prophesy falsely in my name; that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you, and the prophets who prophesy to you.”
16Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, the LORD says, “Don’t listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Behold, the vessels of the LORD’s house will now shortly be brought again from Babylon;’ for they prophesy a lie to you.
17Don’t listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why should this city become a desolation?
18But if they are prophets, and if the LORD’s word is with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of Armies, that the vessels which are left in the LORD’s house, in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, don’t go to Babylon.
19For the LORD of Armies says concerning the pillars, concerning the sea, concerning the bases, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city,
