1Wehe den Hirten, die die Schafe meiner Weide zu Grunde richten und zerstreuen! ist der Spruch Jahwes.
2Darum spricht Jahwe, der Gott Israels, also in betreff der Hirten, die mein Volk weiden: Ihr habt meine Schafe zerstreut und sie versprengt und nicht nach ihnen gesehen, - nun will ich an euch eure bösen Thaten heimsuchen! ist der Spruch Jahwes.
3Ich selbst aber will den Rest meiner Schafe aus allen Ländern, wohin ich sie versprengt habe, sammeln und sie auf ihre Auen zurückführen, und sie sollen fruchtbar sein und sich mehren,
4und ich will Hirten über sie bestellen, die sollen sie weiden, und sie sollen sich nicht mehr zu fürchten noch zu erschrecken brauchen, und soll keines vermißt werden! ist der Spruch Jahwes!
5Fürwahr, es wird die Zeit kommen - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, da will ich David einen rechten Sproß erwecken, der soll als König herrschen und weise handeln und Recht und Gerechtigkeit im Lande üben:
6in seinen Tagen wird Juda geholfen werden, und wird Israel in Sicherheit wohnen, und dies wird sein Name sein, mit dem man ihn benennen wird: Jahwe ist unsere Gerechtigkeit!
7Darum, fürwahr, es kommt die Zeit - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, da wird man nicht mehr sagen: So wahr Jahwe lebt, der die Israeliten aus Ägypten hergeführt hat! sondern:
8So wahr Jahwe lebt, der die Angehörigen des Hauses Israel aus dem Nordland und aus allen Ländern, wohin ich sie verstoßen hatte, hergeführt und heimgebracht hat, daß sie wieder auf ihrem Boden wohneten!
9In betreff der Propheten: Gebrochen ist mein Herz in meinem Innern, es schlottern alle meine Gebeine; ich bin wie ein Trunkener und wie ein Mann, den der Wein übermannt hat, - vor Jahwe und vor seinen heiligen Worten.
10Denn voll von Ehebrechern ist das Land, - ja, wegen des Fluchs trauert das Land, sind die Auen der Trift verdorrt -, und ihr Rennen und Jagen ist Bosheit und ihre Stärke Unwahrhaftigkeit;
11denn Propheten wie Priester sind ruchlos, selbst in meinem Tempel stieß ich auf ihre Bosheit! - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
12Darum soll es ihnen auf ihrem Weg ergehen wie auf schlüpfrigen Stellen in der Finsternis: sie sollen gestoßen werden, daß sie auf ihm zu Falle kommen; denn ich will Unheil über sie bringen im Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
13Auch bei den Propheten Samarias erlebte ich Abgeschmacktes: sie weissagten im Namen des Baal und führten mein Volk Israel irre;
14bei den Propheten Jerusalems aber erlebte ich Schauderhaftes: sie treiben Ehebruch und gehen mit Lüge um und bestärken die Übelthäter, daß ihrer keiner sich von seiner Bosheit bekehre. Sie gelten mir insgesamt wie Sodomiter und ihre Bewohner wie die von Gomorra.
15Darum spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen also in betreff der Propheten: Fürwahr, ich will sie mit Wermut speisen und mit Giftwasser tränken; denn von den Propheten Jerusalems ist Ruchlosigkeit ausgegangen über das ganze Land!
16So spricht Jahwe der Heerscharen: Hört nicht auf die Worte der Propheten, die euch weissagen, - sie bethören euch nur; selbst ersonnene Gesichte verkündigen sie, ohne Auftrag Jahwes.
17Immerfort sprechen sie zu meinen Verächtern: Jahwe hat geredet: Heil wird euch zu teil! Und mögen auch alle starrsinnig ihrem eigenen Sinne folgen, so sprechen sie doch: Es wird mit nichten Unheil über euch kommen!
18Ja, wer im Rate Jahwes steht, der gewahrt und hört sein Wort! Wer mein Wort aufmerksam vernimmt, der thut es kund!
19Schon bricht der Sturmwind Jahwes los, und ein Wirbelsturm - auf das Haupt der Frevler wälzt er sich herab:
20Jahwes Zorn läßt nicht ab, bis er seine Entschlüsse ausgerichtet und durchgeführt hat, - hinterdrein werdet ihr das klar erkennen!
21Ich habe die Propheten nicht ausgesandt, - und doch liefen sie; ich habe nicht zu ihnen geredet, - und doch weissagten sie!
22Hätten sie wirklich in meinem Rate gestanden, so würden sie meinem Volke meine Worte kund thun und sie von ihrem bösen Weg und ihren bösen Thaten abbringen!
23Bin ich denn ein Gott nur in der Nähe - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, und nicht ein Gott auch in der Ferne?
24Oder vermag sich einer in Schlupfwinkeln zu bergen, daß ich ihn nicht sehen sollte? - ist der Spruch Jahwes. Wie? fülle ich nicht den Himmel und die Erde an? - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
25Ich höre wohl, wie die Propheten, die in meinem Namen Lüge weissagen, sprechen: Ich hatte einen Traum, einen Traum!
26Wie lange soll das so fortgehen? Haben etwa die Propheten im Sinne, sie, die Lügen weissagen und Propheten selbst ersonnenes Truges sind, -
27wollen sie etwa mit ihren Träumen, die sie einander erzählen, bewirken, daß mein Volk meinen Namen vergesse, wie ihre Väter meinen Namen über dem Baal vergaßen?
28Der Prophet, dem ein Traum zu gebote steht, der mag einen Traum erzählen; wem aber mein Wort zu gebote steht, der rede treulich mein Wort! Was hat das Stroh mit dem Korn gemein? - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
29Ist mein Wort nicht vielmehr wie Feuer - ist der Spruch Jahwes - und wie ein Hammer, der Felsen zerschmeißt?
30Darum, fürwahr, ich will an die Propheten - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, die einer dem andern meine Worte stehlen!
31Ja, ich will an die Propheten - ist der Spruch Jahwes -, die ihre eigene Zunge nehmen, um einen Gottesspruch herzumurmeln!
32Ja, ich will an die Propheten, die trügerische Träume verkündigen - ist der Spruch Jahwes - und sie erzählen und mein Volk durch ihre Lügen und ihr Geflunker in die Irre führen, sie, die ich doch nicht gesandt noch beauftragt habe, und die diesem Volke gar nichts nützen, - ist der Spruch Jahwes!
33Wenn dich nun dieses Volk oder Propheten und Priester fragen: Was ist die Last Jahwes? so sollst du zu ihnen sprechen? Ihr seid die Last und ich werfe euch ab! - ist der Spruch Jahwes.
34Der Prophet jedoch und der Priester und die Leute, die von der “Last Jahwes” reden, - einen solchen will ich heimsuchen samt seinem Hause.
35Vielmehr so sollt ihr einer zum andern und zu einander sagen: “Was hat Jahwe geantwortet?” oder “Was hat Jahwe geredet?”
36Aber den Ausdruck “Last Jahwes” sollt ihr nicht mehr erwähnen; denn “die Last” wird für einen jeden dieses sein Wort sein, indem ihr die Worte des lebendigen Gottes, Jahwes der Heerscharen, unseres Gottes, verdreht habt!
37So soll man zum Propheten sagen: “Was hat dir Jahwe geantwortet?” oder “Was hat Jahwe geredet?”
38Wenn ihr aber von der “Last Jahwes” redet - darum, so spricht Jahwe: Weil ihr diesen Ausdruck “Last Jahwes” braucht, obschon ich euch entbieten ließ: Ihr sollt nicht von der “Last Jahwes” reden! -
39darum, fürwahr, will ich euch aufheben und will euch und die Stadt, die ich euch und euren Vätern verliehen habe, hinwerfen, hinweg aus meinem Angesicht,
40und ewigen Schimpf und immerwährende, nie vergessene Schmach auf euch legen.

1¡AY de los pastores que desperdician y derraman las ovejas de mi majada! dice Jehová.
2Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel á los pastores que apacientan mi pueblo: Vosotros derramasteis mis ovejas, y las espantasteis, y no las habéis visitado: he aquí que yo visito sobre vosotros la maldad de vuestras obras, dice Jehová.
3Y yo recogeré el resto de mis ovejas de todas las tierras adonde las eché, y harélas volver á sus moradas; y crecerán, y se multiplicarán.
4Y pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten; y no temerán más, ni se asombrarán, ni serán menoscabadas, dice Jehová.
5He aquí que vienen los días, dice Jehová, y despertaré á David renuevo justo, y reinará Rey, el cual será dichoso, y hará juicio y justicia en la tierra.
6En sus días será salvo Judá, é Israel habitará confiado: y este será su nombre que le llamarán: JEHOVÁ, JUSTICIA NUESTRA.
7Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, y no dirán más: Vive Jehová que hizo subir los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto;
8Sino: Vive Jehová que hizo subir y trajo la simiente de la casa de Israel de tierra del aquilón, y de todas las tierras adonde los había yo echado; y habitarán en su tierra.
9A causa de los profetas mi corazón está quebrantado en medio de mí, todos mis huesos tiemblan; estuve como hombre borracho, y como hombre á quien dominó el vino, delante de Jehová y delante de las palabras de su santidad.
10Porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros: porque á causa del juramento la tierra está desierta; las cabañas del desierto se secaron; la carrera de ellos fué mala, y su fortaleza no derecha.
11Porque así el profeta como el sacerdote son fingidos: aun en mi casa hallé su maldad, dice Jehová.
12Por tanto, como resbaladeros en oscuridad les será su camino: serán empujados, y caerán en él: porque yo traeré mal sobre ellos, año de su visitación, dice Jehová.
13Y en los profetas de Samaria he visto desatinos: profetizaban en Baal, é hicieron errar á mi pueblo Israel.
14Y en los profetas de Jerusalem he visto torpezas: cometían adulterios, y andaban en mentiras, y esforzaban las manos de los malos, para que ninguno se convirtiese de su malicia: fuéronme todos ellos como Sodoma, y sus moradores como Gomorra.
15Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos contra aquellos profetas: He aquí que yo les hago comer ajenjos, y les haré beber aguas de hiel; porque de los profetas de Jerusalem salió la hipocresía sobre toda la tierra.
16Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan: os hacen desvanecer; hablan visión de su corazón, no de la boca de Jehová.
17Dicen atrevidamente á los que me irritan: Jehová dijo: Paz tendréis; y á cualquiera que anda tras la imaginación de su corazón, dijeron: No vendrá mal sobre vosotros.
18Porque ¿quién estuvo en el secreto de Jehová, y vió, y oyó su palabra? ¿quién estuvo atento á su palabra, y oyó?
19He aquí que la tempestad de Jehová saldrá con furor; y la tempestad que está aparejada, caerá sobre la cabeza de los malos.
20No se apartará el furor de Jehová, hasta tanto que haya hecho, y hasta tanto que haya cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón: en lo postrero de los días lo entenderéis cumplidamente.
21No envié yo aquellos profetas, y ellos corrían: yo no les hablé, y ellos profetizaban.
22Y si ellos hubieran estado en mi secreto, también hubieran hecho oir mis palabras á mi pueblo; y les hubieran hecho volver de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus obras.
23¿Soy yo Dios de poco acá, dice Jehová, y no Dios de mucho ha?
24¿Ocultaráse alguno, dice Jehová, en escondrijos que yo no lo vea? ¿No hincho yo, dice Jehová, el cielo y la tierra?
25Yo he oído lo que aquellos profetas dijeron, profetizando mentira en mi nombre, diciendo: Soñé, soñé.
26¿Hasta cuándo será esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentira, y que profetizan el engaño de su corazón?
27¿No piensan como hacen á mi pueblo olvidarse de mi nombre con sus sueños que cada uno cuenta á su compañero, al modo que sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre por Baal?
28El profeta con quien fuere sueño, cuente sueño; y el con quien fuere mi palabra, cuente mi palabra verdadera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo? dice Jehová.
29¿No es mi palabra como el fuego, dice Jehová, y como martillo que quebranta la piedra?
30Por tanto, he aquí yo contra los profetas, dice Jehová, que hurtan mis palabras cada uno de su más cercano.
31He aquí yo contra los profetas, dice Jehová, que endulzan sus lenguas, y dicen: El ha dicho.
32He aquí yo contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos, dice Jehová, y contáronlos, é hicieron errar á mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con sus lisonjas; y yo no los envié, ni les mandé; y ningún provecho hicieron á este pueblo, dice Jehová.
33Y cuando te preguntare este pueblo, ó el profeta, ó el sacerdote, diciendo: ¿Qué es la carga de Jehová? les dirás: ¿Qué carga? Os dejaré, ha dicho Jehová.
34Y el profeta, y el sacerdote, ó el pueblo, que dijere: Carga de Jehová; yo enviaré castigo sobre tal hombre y sobre su casa.
35Así diréis cada cual á su compañero, y cada cual á su hermano: ¿Qué ha respondido Jehová, y qué habló Jehová?
36Y nunca más os vendrá á la memoria decir: Carga de Jehová: porque la palabra de cada uno le será por carga; pues pervertisteis las palabras del Dios viviente, de Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios nuestro.
37Así dirás al profeta: ¿Qué te respondió Jehová, y qué habló Jehová?
38Mas si dijereis: Carga de Jehová: por eso Jehová dice así: Porque dijisteis esta palabra, Carga de Jehová, habiendo enviado á deciros: No digáis, Carga de Jehová:
39Por tanto, he aquí que yo os echaré en olvido, y os arrancaré de mi presencia, y á la ciudad que os dí á vosotros y á vuestros padres;
40Y pondré sobre vosotros afrenta perpetua, y eterna confusión que nunca borrará el olvido.

1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
3And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
9Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
10For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
11For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
12Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
13And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
15Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
16Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
18For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
20The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
25I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
27Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
28The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
30Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
31Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
32Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
33And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
34And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
35Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
36And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
37Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
38But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
40And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

1“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the LORD.
2Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.
3“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.
4I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.
5“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.
7“Therefore, behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that they will no more say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
8but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and who led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will dwell in their own land.”
9Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken. All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of his holy words.
10“For the land is full of adulterers; for because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
11for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.
12Therefore their way will be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They will be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.

15Therefore the LORD of Armies says concerning the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16The LORD of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’
18For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?
19Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.
20The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.
21I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
24Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.
25“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
26How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
27They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.
28The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says the LORD.
29“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
30“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
31Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
32Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
33“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’
34As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
35You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’
36You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies, our God.
37You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
38Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”
