1Alas for the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture Declareth Yahweh.
2Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Concerning the shepherds who are tending my people,—Ye have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and have not visited them,—Behold me! visiting upon you the wickedness of your doings Declareth Yahweh.
3I myself, therefore will gather the remnant of my flock, out of all the lands whither I have driven them,—And will bring them back unto their own fold, And they shall be fruitful and multiply;
4And I will raise up over them shepherds who will tend them,—So shall they not be afraid any more, nor be dismayed nor be missing, Declareth Yahweh.
5Lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, when I will raise up to David A righteous Bud, And he shall reign as king, and prosper, And shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6In his days, Shall Judah be saved, And Israel abide securely,—And, this, is his name whereby he shall be called Yahweh, our Righteousness.
7Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When it shall not be said any more As Yahweh liveth, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8but—As Yahweh liveth who hath brought up and who hath brought in the seed of the house of Israel out of the land of the North, and out of all the lands whither I have driven them,—And they shall remain upon their own soil.
9As for the prophets,—Broken is my heart within me Trembled have all my bones, I have become as a drunken man, And as a strong man whom wine hath overcome,—Because of Yahweh, And because of his holy words.
10For with adulterers, is the land filled, Yea because of cursing, doth the land mourn, Dried up are the oases of the desert,—And, their oppression hath become wicked, And, their might is not right.
11For both prophet and priest, are profane,—Even in my house, have I found their wickedness, Declareth Yahweh.
12Therefore, shall their way become to them like slippery places in darkness, They shall be driven on and shall fall therein,—For I will bring in upon them calamity—The year of their visitation, Declareth Yahweh.
13Even among the prophets of Samaria, had I seen a foolish thing,—They prophesied by Baal, And led astray my people Israel.
14But among the prophets of Jerusalem, have I seen a horrible thing,—Committing adultery, And walking in falsehood, And so strengthening the hands of doers of wickedness, not to return any man from his wickedness: They have all of them become to me as Sodom, And her inhabitants as Gomorrah.
15Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts Concerning the prophets,—Behold me! Feeding them with wormwood, And I will cause them to drink poisoned water,—For from the prophets of Jerusalem, hath there gone forth profanity unto all the land.
16Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts,—Do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are prophesying unto you, They are filling you, with vain hopes,—The vision of their own hearts, do they speak, Not from the mouth of Yahweh!
17They keep on saying to them who despise me, Yahweh, hath spoken, saying, Prosperity, shall ye have! And to every one who is going on in the stubbornness of his own heart, have they said, There shall come on you, no calamity
18For who hath stood in the council of Yahweh, that he should see and hear his word? Who hath given ear to his word and heard it?
19Lo! the tempest of Yahweh! Indignation, hath come forth, Even a tempest whirling along: On the head of the lawless, shall it hurl itself down.
20The anger of Yahweh, wilt not return, Until he hath executed nor Until he hath established The purposes of his heart,—In the afterpart of the days, shall ye understand it perfectly.
21I sent not the prophets yet they, ran, I spake not unto them yet, they, prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my council, Then might they have announced my words unto my people, And have turned them from their wicked way and from the wickedness of their doings.
23Am I, a God at hand, Demandeth Yahweh, And not a God afar off?
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I, shall not see him? Demandeth Yahweh,—The heavens and the earth, do I not fill? Demandeth Yahweh.
25I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy in my name falsely, saying,—I have dreamed! I have dreamed!
26How long shall it be in the heart of the prophets, To be prophets of falsehood,—And prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
27Who lay a plot to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they relate every man to his neighbour,—Just as their fathers forgat, my name, for Baal.
28The prophet with whom is a dream, Let him relate it as a dream, And he with whom is my word, Let him speak my word as truth,—What is the chaff to the wheat? Demandeth Yahweh:
29Is not my word, like this, Like fire? Demandeth Yahweh,—And like a hammer, that breaketh in pieces a cliff?
30Therefore! behold me! against the prophets, Declareth Yahweh,—who steal my words, every man from his neighbour:
31Behold me! against the prophets, Declareth Yahweh, who presume with their tongue and declare He declareth:
32Behold me! against such as prophesy the dreams of falsehood, Declareth Yahweh, who have related them and led astray my people, with their falsehoods and with their recklessness,—whereas, I, had not sent them nor commanded them, so that they could be of no, profit, to this people, Declareth Yahweh.
33But when this people or a prophet or a priest shall ask thee saying What is the oracle of Yahweh? Then shalt thou say unto them Ye, yourselves, are the oracle, Therefore will I reject you Declareth Yahweh;
34But the prophet, or the priest or the people who shall say—the oracle of Yahweh, I will bring punishment upon that man and upon his house.
35Thus, shall ye say—every man unto his neighbour and every man unto his brother,—What hath Yahweh, answered? or, What hath Yahweh, spoken?
36but the oracle of Yahweh, shall ye not mention, any more,—for, every man’s oracle, shall be his own word, because ye have perverted the words of a Living God, Yahweh of hosts our God.
37Thus, shalt thou say unto the prophet,—What hath Yahweh, answered thee? or What hath Yahweh, spoken?
38But, since ye keep on saying, The Oracle of Yahweh, therefore, Thus saith Yahweh, Because ye have said this word, The oracle of Yahweh, whereas I had sent unto you saying, Ye shall not say, The oracle of Yahweh
39therefore, behold me! I will lift you up,—and carry you away, and the city which I gave to you and to your fathers from before my face;
40and will give unto you reproach age-abiding,—and disgrace age-abiding, which shall not be forgotten.

1¡AY de los pastores que desperdician y derraman las ovejas de mi majada! dice Jehová.
2Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel á los pastores que apacientan mi pueblo: Vosotros derramasteis mis ovejas, y las espantasteis, y no las habéis visitado: he aquí que yo visito sobre vosotros la maldad de vuestras obras, dice Jehová.
3Y yo recogeré el resto de mis ovejas de todas las tierras adonde las eché, y harélas volver á sus moradas; y crecerán, y se multiplicarán.
4Y pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten; y no temerán más, ni se asombrarán, ni serán menoscabadas, dice Jehová.
5He aquí que vienen los días, dice Jehová, y despertaré á David renuevo justo, y reinará Rey, el cual será dichoso, y hará juicio y justicia en la tierra.
6En sus días será salvo Judá, é Israel habitará confiado: y este será su nombre que le llamarán: JEHOVÁ, JUSTICIA NUESTRA.
7Por tanto, he aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, y no dirán más: Vive Jehová que hizo subir los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto;
8Sino: Vive Jehová que hizo subir y trajo la simiente de la casa de Israel de tierra del aquilón, y de todas las tierras adonde los había yo echado; y habitarán en su tierra.
9A causa de los profetas mi corazón está quebrantado en medio de mí, todos mis huesos tiemblan; estuve como hombre borracho, y como hombre á quien dominó el vino, delante de Jehová y delante de las palabras de su santidad.
10Porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros: porque á causa del juramento la tierra está desierta; las cabañas del desierto se secaron; la carrera de ellos fué mala, y su fortaleza no derecha.
11Porque así el profeta como el sacerdote son fingidos: aun en mi casa hallé su maldad, dice Jehová.
12Por tanto, como resbaladeros en oscuridad les será su camino: serán empujados, y caerán en él: porque yo traeré mal sobre ellos, año de su visitación, dice Jehová.
13Y en los profetas de Samaria he visto desatinos: profetizaban en Baal, é hicieron errar á mi pueblo Israel.
14Y en los profetas de Jerusalem he visto torpezas: cometían adulterios, y andaban en mentiras, y esforzaban las manos de los malos, para que ninguno se convirtiese de su malicia: fuéronme todos ellos como Sodoma, y sus moradores como Gomorra.
15Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos contra aquellos profetas: He aquí que yo les hago comer ajenjos, y les haré beber aguas de hiel; porque de los profetas de Jerusalem salió la hipocresía sobre toda la tierra.
16Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan: os hacen desvanecer; hablan visión de su corazón, no de la boca de Jehová.
17Dicen atrevidamente á los que me irritan: Jehová dijo: Paz tendréis; y á cualquiera que anda tras la imaginación de su corazón, dijeron: No vendrá mal sobre vosotros.
18Porque ¿quién estuvo en el secreto de Jehová, y vió, y oyó su palabra? ¿quién estuvo atento á su palabra, y oyó?
19He aquí que la tempestad de Jehová saldrá con furor; y la tempestad que está aparejada, caerá sobre la cabeza de los malos.
20No se apartará el furor de Jehová, hasta tanto que haya hecho, y hasta tanto que haya cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón: en lo postrero de los días lo entenderéis cumplidamente.
21No envié yo aquellos profetas, y ellos corrían: yo no les hablé, y ellos profetizaban.
22Y si ellos hubieran estado en mi secreto, también hubieran hecho oir mis palabras á mi pueblo; y les hubieran hecho volver de su mal camino, y de la maldad de sus obras.
23¿Soy yo Dios de poco acá, dice Jehová, y no Dios de mucho ha?
24¿Ocultaráse alguno, dice Jehová, en escondrijos que yo no lo vea? ¿No hincho yo, dice Jehová, el cielo y la tierra?
25Yo he oído lo que aquellos profetas dijeron, profetizando mentira en mi nombre, diciendo: Soñé, soñé.
26¿Hasta cuándo será esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentira, y que profetizan el engaño de su corazón?
27¿No piensan como hacen á mi pueblo olvidarse de mi nombre con sus sueños que cada uno cuenta á su compañero, al modo que sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre por Baal?
28El profeta con quien fuere sueño, cuente sueño; y el con quien fuere mi palabra, cuente mi palabra verdadera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo? dice Jehová.
29¿No es mi palabra como el fuego, dice Jehová, y como martillo que quebranta la piedra?
30Por tanto, he aquí yo contra los profetas, dice Jehová, que hurtan mis palabras cada uno de su más cercano.
31He aquí yo contra los profetas, dice Jehová, que endulzan sus lenguas, y dicen: El ha dicho.
32He aquí yo contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos, dice Jehová, y contáronlos, é hicieron errar á mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con sus lisonjas; y yo no los envié, ni les mandé; y ningún provecho hicieron á este pueblo, dice Jehová.
33Y cuando te preguntare este pueblo, ó el profeta, ó el sacerdote, diciendo: ¿Qué es la carga de Jehová? les dirás: ¿Qué carga? Os dejaré, ha dicho Jehová.
34Y el profeta, y el sacerdote, ó el pueblo, que dijere: Carga de Jehová; yo enviaré castigo sobre tal hombre y sobre su casa.
35Así diréis cada cual á su compañero, y cada cual á su hermano: ¿Qué ha respondido Jehová, y qué habló Jehová?
36Y nunca más os vendrá á la memoria decir: Carga de Jehová: porque la palabra de cada uno le será por carga; pues pervertisteis las palabras del Dios viviente, de Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios nuestro.
37Así dirás al profeta: ¿Qué te respondió Jehová, y qué habló Jehová?
38Mas si dijereis: Carga de Jehová: por eso Jehová dice así: Porque dijisteis esta palabra, Carga de Jehová, habiendo enviado á deciros: No digáis, Carga de Jehová:
39Por tanto, he aquí que yo os echaré en olvido, y os arrancaré de mi presencia, y á la ciudad que os dí á vosotros y á vuestros padres;
40Y pondré sobre vosotros afrenta perpetua, y eterna confusión que nunca borrará el olvido.

1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
3And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
5Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
6In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
8But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
9Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
10For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
11For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
12Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
13And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
15Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
16Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
18For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
20The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
21I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
24Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
25I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;

33And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
34And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
35Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
36And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
37Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
38But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
39Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
40And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

1“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the LORD.
2Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.
3“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.
4I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.
5“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.

16The LORD of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’
18For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?
19Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.
20The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.
21I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
24Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.
25“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’

29“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
30“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
31Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
32Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
33“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’
34As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
35You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’
36You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies, our God.
37You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
38Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”
39therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off with the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence.
40I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.’”
