El SEÑOR me dijo esto: "Ve y compra ropa interior de lino y ponla alrededor de tu cintura, pero no la pongas en agua primero."
ASÍ me dijo Jehová: Ve, y cómprate un cinto de lino, y cíñelo sobre tus lomos, y no lo meterás en agua.
Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
The LORD said to me, “Go, and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don’t put it in water.”
Así que compré ropa interior como el SEÑOR ordenó, y la puse alrededor de mi cintura.
Y compré el cinto conforme á la palabra de Jehová, y púselo sobre mis lomos.
So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
So I bought a belt according to the LORD’s word, and put it on my waist.
Entonces la palabra del SEÑOR vino a mí una segunda vez, diciendo:
Y fué á mí segunda vez palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,

"Toma la ropa interior que compraste que está alrededor de tu cintura, levántate y viaja al Éufrates. Escóndela allí en la hendidura de una piedra."
Toma el cinto que compraste, que está sobre tus lomos, y levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y escóndelo allá en la concavidad de una peña.
Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
“Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.”
Así que fui y la escondí en el Éufrates justo como el SEÑOR me había ordenado.
Fuí pues, y escondílo junto al Eufrates, como Jehová me mandó.
So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.

Después de muchos días, el SEÑOR me dijo: "Levántate y vuelve al Éufrates. Toma de allí la ropa interior que te dije que escondieras."
Y sucedió que al cabo de muchos días me dijo Jehová: Levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y toma de allí el cinto que te mandé escondieses allá.
And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
After many days, the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there.”
Así que volví al Éufrates y saqué la ropa interior de donde la había escondido. ¡Pero he aquí! La ropa interior había sido destruida; no servía para nada.
Entonces fuí al Eufrates, y cavé, y tomé el cinto del lugar donde lo había escondido; y he aquí que el cinto se había podrido; para ninguna cosa era bueno.
Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.

"El SEÑOR dice esto: De esta misma manera destruiré la gran arrogancia de Judá y Jerusalén.
Así ha dicho Jehová: Así haré podrir la soberbia de Judá, y la mucha soberbia de Jerusalem,
Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
“The LORD says, ‘In this way I will ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
Esta gente malvada que se rehusan a escuchar Mi palabra, que caminan en la dureza de su corazón, que siguen a otros dioses para adorarlos y postrarse ante ellos--ellos serán como esta ropa interior que no sirve para nada.
A este pueblo malo, que no quieren oir mis palabras, que andan en las imaginaciones de su corazón, y se fueron en pos de dioses ajenos para servirles, y para encorvarse á ellos; y vendrá á ser como este cinto, que para ninguna cosa es bueno.
This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

Pues así como una ropa interior se aguanta de las caderas de alguien, así he hecho que toda la casa de Israel y toda la casa de Judá se aguanten de Mí--esta es la declaración del SEÑOR--para ser Mi pueblo, para traerme fama, alabanza, y honor. Pero ellos no me escuchan a Mí.

For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to me,’ says the LORD; ‘that they may be to me for a people, for a name, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’

“Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘The LORD, the God of Israel says, “Every container should be filled with wine.”’ They will tell you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every container should be filled with wine?’
Así que dile a ellos: 'El SEÑOR dice esto: Vean, Yo estoy a punto de llenar con embriaguez a cada habitante de esta tierra, los reyes que se sientan en el trono de David, los sacerdotes, los profetas, y todos los habitantes de Jerusalén.

Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
Then tell them, ‘The LORD says, “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
Entonces aplastaré a cada hombre contra el otro, padres e hijos juntos--esta es la declaración del SEÑOR-- Yo no tendré pena de ellos ni tendré compasión, y no los perdonaré de la destrucción.'"
Y quebrantarélos el uno con el otro, los padres con los hijos juntamente, dice Jehová: no perdonaré, ni tendré piedad ni misericordia, para no destruirlos.

Escuchen y presten atención. No sean arrogantes, pues el SEÑOR ha hablado.

Den honor al SEÑOR su Dios antes de que traiga oscuridad, y antes de que cause que sus pies tiemblen en las montañas al crepúsculo. Pues están esperando luz, pero Él convertirá este lugar en una oscuridad profunda, en una nube oscura.
Dad gloria á Jehová Dios vuestro, antes que haga venir tinieblas, y antes que vuestros pies tropiecen en montes de oscuridad, y esperéis luz, y os la torne sombra de muerte y tinieblas.

Así que si ustedes no escuchan, lloraré solo por su arrogancia. Mis ojos ciertamente llorarán y fluirán con lágrimas, pues el rebaño del SEÑOR ha sido tomado cautivo.
Mas si no oyereis esto, en secreto llorará mi alma á causa de vuestra soberbia; y llorando amargamente, se desharán mis ojos en lágrimas, porque el rebaño de Jehová fué cautivo.
But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.

Las ciudades en el Neguev serán calladas, sin nadie que las abra. Judá será tomada cautiva, todo de ella en exilio.

Levanten sus ojos y miren a los que vienen del norte. ¿Dónde está el rebaño que Él les dió, el rebaño que era tan hermoso para tí?
Alzad vuestros ojos, y ved los que vienen del aquilón: ¿dónde está el rebaño que te fué dado, la grey de tu gloria?
Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

¿Que dirás cuando Dios ponga sobre tí a aquellos que les habías enseñado a ser tus amigos? ¿No son estos los principios de los dolores de parto que te agarrarán como una mujer dando a luz?
¿Qué dirás cuando te visitará? porque tú los enseñaste á ser príncipes y cabeza sobre ti. ¿No te tomarán dolores como á mujer que pare?
What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
What will you say when he sets over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? Won’t sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?
Entonces, puedes decir en tu corazón: '¿Por qué me están sucediendo estas cosas?' Será por la multitud de tus iniquidades que tus faldas están alzadas y has sido violada.
Cuando dijeres en tu corazón: ¿Por qué me ha sobrevenido esto? Por la enormidad de tu maldad fueron descubiertas tus faldas, fueron desnudos tus calcañares.
And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
If you say in your heart, “Why have these things come on me?” Your skirts are uncovered because of the greatness of your iniquity, and your heels suffer violence.
¿Puede la gente de Cus cambiar el color de su piel, o un leopardo cambiar sus manchas? Si es así, pues tú mismo, aunque estás acostumbrado a tu maldad, podrías hacer el bien.
¿Mudará el negro su pellejo, y el leopardo sus manchas? Así también podréis vosotros hacer bien, estando habituados á hacer mal.

I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?
I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean. How long will it yet be?”
