Los vecinos de Siquem le pusieron emboscadas sobre las cimas de las montañas, para despojar a cuantos pasaban por el camino junto a ellos. Esto llegó al conocimiento de Abimelec.

Y pusiéronle los de Sichêm asechadores en las cumbres de los montes, los cuales salteaban á todos los que pasaban junto á ellos por el camino; de lo que fué dado aviso á Abimelech.
