5Da führte er die Leute hinab ans Wasser. Und Jahwe sprach zu Gideon: Jeden, der mit der Zunge Wasser leckt, so wie die Hunde lecken, den stelle besonders und ebenso jeden, der niederkniet, um aus der Hand zu trinken, indem er sie zum Munde führt.

5So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

5So he brought down the people to the water; and the LORD said to Gideon, “Everyone who laps of the water with his tongue, like a dog laps, you shall set him by himself; likewise everyone who bows down on his knees to drink.”
