La gente de Israel hizo lo malo delante del SEÑOR y los entregó en las manos de los madianitas por siete años.

MAS los hijos de Israel hicieron lo malo en los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová los entregó en las manos de Madián por siete años.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, so the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

El poder de Madián lastimó fuertemente a Israel. Por causa de Madian los israelitas se hicieron escondites en las colinas, las cuevas y otros lugares de refugio.

Y la mano de Madián prevaleció contra Israel. Y los hijos de Israel, por causa de los Madianitas, se hicieron cuevas en los montes, y cavernas, y lugares fuertes.

And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

Sucedió que cada vez que los Israelitas sembraban sus cosechas, los madianitas y los amalecitas y la gente del oriente atacaban a los israelitas.

Pues como los de Israel habían sembrado, subían los Madianitas, y Amalecitas, y los orientales: subían contra ellos;

And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

Ellos ponían su ejército en la tierra y destruían la cosecha, todo el camino hasta Gaza. No dejaban comida en Israel, ni ovejas, tampoco ganado o burros.

Y asentando campo contra ellos destruían los frutos de la tierra, hasta llegar á Gaza; y no dejaban qué comer en Israel, ni ovejas, ni bueyes, ni asnos.

And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

Siempre que ellos y su ganado y sus tiendas de campañas subían, ellos venían como una gran cantidad de langostas, y era imposible contar las personas o sus camellos. Ellos invadieron la tierra para destruírla.

Porque subían ellos y sus ganados, y venían con sus tiendas en grande multitud como langosta, que no había número en ellos ni en sus camellos: así venían á la tierra para devastarla.

For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.

Madián debilitó a los israelitas tan severamente, que el pueblo de Israel clamó al SEÑOR.

Era pues Israel en gran manera empobrecido por los Madianitas; y los hijos de Israel clamaron á Jehová.

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

Israel was brought very low because of Midian; and the children of Israel cried to the LORD.

Cuando el pueblo de Israel clamó al SEÑOR por causa de Madián,

Y cuando los hijos de Israel hubieron clamado á Jehová, á causa de los Madianitas,

And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites,

When the children of Israel cried to the LORD because of Midian,

el SEÑOR envió un profeta al pueblo de Israel. El profeta les dijo: "Esto es lo que el SEÑOR, el Dios de Israel dice: 'Te saqué de Egipto, te saqué de la casa de la esclavitud.

Jehová envió un varón profeta á los hijos de Israel, el cual les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo os hice salir de Egipto, y os saqué de la casa de servidumbre:

That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

The LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel; and he said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you out of the house of bondage.

Te rescaté de la mano de los Egipcios, y de la mano de todos los que te lastimaban fuertemente. Los eché de delante de ustedes y les entregué a ustedes sus tierras.

Yo os libré de mano de los Egipcios, y de mano de todos los que os afligieron, á los cuales eché de delante de vosotros, y os dí su tierra;

And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;

I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land.

Yo te dije: "Yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios; yo te ordené que no adoraras los dioses de los amorreos, en cuya tierra tú estás viviendo." Pero no has obedecido mi voz.""

Y díjeos: Yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios; no temáis á los dioses de los Amorrheos, en cuya tierra habitáis: mas no habéis obedecido á mi voz.

And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

I said to you, “I am the LORD your God. You shall not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not listened to my voice.’”

Ahora el ángel del SEÑOR vino y se sentó debajo de un árbol grande en Ofra, que pertenecía a Joás (el de Abiezer), mientras Gedéon, hijo de Joás, estaba separando el trigo sacudiéndolo en el piso, en el lugar donde ellos pisaban las uvas para hacer vino, para esconderlo de los madianitas.

Y vino el ángel de Jehová, y sentóse debajo del alcornoque que está en Ophra, el cual era de Joas Abiezerita; y su hijo Gedeón estaba sacudiendo el trigo en el lagar, para hacerlo esconder de los Madianitas.

And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

The LORD’s angel came and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite. His son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites.

El ángel del SEÑOR se le apareció a él y dijo a él: "¡EL SEÑOR está contigo, guerrero fuerte!"

Y el ángel de Jehová se le apareció, y díjole: Jehová es contigo, varón esforzado.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

The LORD’s angel appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Gedeón le dijo a él, "Oh, mi Señor; si el SEÑOR esta con nosotros, ¿Entonces, por qué nos ha sucedido todo eso? ¿Dónde están todas sus maravillosas obras, las cuales nuestros padres nos contaron, cuando ellos dijeron, '¿No nos sacó el SEÑOR de Egipto?' Pero ahora el SEÑOR nos ha abandonado y entregado en manos de Madián."

Y Gedeón le respondió: Ah, Señor mío, si Jehová es con nosotros, ¿por qué nos ha sobrevenido todo esto? ¿Y dónde están todas sus maravillas, que nuestros padres nos han contado, diciendo: ¿No nos sacó Jehová de Egipto? Y ahora Jehová nos ha desamparado, y nos ha entregado en mano de los Madianitas.

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

Gideon said to him, “Oh, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, ‘Didn’t the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.”

El SEÑOR lo miró a él y dijo: "Ve en la fuerza que ya tú tienes. Libera a Israel de la mano de Madian. ¿No te he mandado yo?"

Y mirándole Jehová, díjole: Ve con esta tu fortaleza, y salvarás á Israel de la mano de los Madianitas. ¿No te envío yo?

And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

The LORD looked at him, and said, “Go in this your might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Haven’t I sent you?”

Gedeón le dijo a él, "Por favor, Señor, ¿cómo puedo yo liberar a Israel? Ves, mi familia es la más débil en Manasés, y yo soy el menos importante en la casa de mi padre."

Entonces le respondió: Ah, Señor mío, ¿con qué tengo de salvar á Israel? He aquí que mi familia es pobre en Manasés, y yo el menor en la casa de mi padre.

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.

He said to him, “O Lord, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

El SEÑOR le dijo a él, "Yo estaré contigo, y tú derrotarás el ejército madianita como a un solo hombre."

Y Jehová le dijo: Porque yo seré contigo, y herirás á los Madianitas como á un solo hombre.

And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

The LORD said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.”

Gedeón le dijo a él, "Si te agradas de mi, entonces dame una señal que eres tú el que me está hablando.

Y él respondió: Yo te ruego, que si he hallado gracia delante de ti, me des señal de que tú has hablado conmigo.

And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

He said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.

Por favor, no te marches de aquí, hasta que yo venga a ti y traiga mi regalo y lo ofrezca a ti." El SEÑOR dijo, "Yo esperaré hasta que tú regreses."

Ruégote que no te vayas de aquí, hasta que á ti vuelva, y saque mi presente, y lo ponga delante de ti. Y él respondió: Yo esperaré hasta que vuelvas.

Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.

Please don’t go away until I come to you, and bring out my present, and lay it before you.” He said, “I will wait until you come back.”

Gedeón fue y preparó un cabrito e hizo de un barril de veintidós litros de harina, e hizo pan sin levadura. Él puso la carne en una cesta, y puso el caldo en un caldero y los trajo a él debajo del árbol grande, y los presentó.

Y entrándose Gedeón aderezó un cabrito, y panes sin levadura de un epha de harina; y puso la carne en un canastillo, y el caldo en una olla, y sacándolo presentóselo debajo de aquel alcornoque.

And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.

Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal. He put the meat in a basket and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it.

El Ángel de Dios le dijo a él: "Toma la carne y el pan sin levadura y colócalos sobre esta roca, y derrama el caldo sobre ellos." Y Gedeón lo hizo así.

Y el ángel de Dios le dijo: Toma la carne, y los panes sin levadura, y ponlo sobre esta peña, y vierte el caldo. Y él lo hizo así.

And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.

The angel of God said to him, “Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.” He did so.

Entonces El Ángel del SEÑOR extendió su mano para alcanzarla con la punta de la vara. Con ella Él tocó la carne y el pan sin levadura; un fuego subió de la roca y consumió la carne y el pan sin levadura. Entonces el Ángel del SEÑOR se marchó y Gedeón no pudo verlo más.

Y extendiendo el ángel de Jehová el bordón que tenía en su mano, tocó con la punta en la carne y en los panes sin levadura; y subió fuego de la peña, el cual consumió la carne y los panes sin levadura. Y el ángel de Jehová desapareció de delante de él.

Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.

Then the LORD’s angel stretched out the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes; and fire went up out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. Then the LORD’s angel departed out of his sight.

Gedeón entendió que este era El Ángel del SEÑOR. Gedeón dijo,

Y viendo Gedeón que era el ángel de Jehová, dijo: Ah, Señor Jehová, que he visto el ángel de Jehová cara á cara.

And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face.

Gideon saw that he was the LORD’s angel; and Gideon said, “Alas, Lord GOD! Because I have seen the LORD’s angel face to face!”

"¡Ah, Señor! ¡Pues he visto El Ángel del SEÑOR cara a cara!" El SEÑOR le dijo a él, "¡Paz a ti! No tengas miedo, tú no morirás."

Y Jehová le dijo: Paz á ti; no tengas temor, no morirás.

And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.

The LORD said to him, “Peace be to you! Don’t be afraid. You shall not die.”

Así que Gedeón construyó un altar ahí para el SEÑOR. Él lo llamó, "El SEÑOR es Paz." Hasta este día todavía está en pie en Ofra del grupo de familias de Abiezer.

Y edificó allí Gedeón altar á Jehová, al que llamó Jehová-salom: está hasta hoy en Ophra de los Abiezeritas.

Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.

Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it “The LORD is Peace.” To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Esa noche el SEÑOR dijo a él, "Toma el toro de tu padre, y un segundo toro que tiene siete años de edad, y derriba el altar de Baal que pertenece a tu padre, y corta el palo de adoración de la diosa Asera que está a su lado.

Y aconteció que la misma noche le dijo Jehová: Toma un toro del hato de tu padre, y otro toro de siete años, y derriba el altar de Baal que tu padre tiene, y corta también el bosque que está junto á él:

And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:

That same night, the LORD said to him, “Take your father’s bull, even the second bull seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is by it.

Construye un altar al SEÑOR tu Dios sobre este lugar de refugio, y constrúyelo de la manera correcta. Ofrece el segundo toro como una ofrenda quemada, usando la madera de la Asera que cortaste."

Y edifica altar á Jehová tu Dios en la cumbre de este peñasco en lugar conveniente; y tomando el segundo toro, sacrifícalo en holocausto sobre la leña del bosque que habrás cortado.

And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.

Then build an altar to the LORD your God on the top of this stronghold, in an orderly way, and take the second bull, and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down.”

Así que Gedeón tomó diez de sus siervos e hizo como el SEÑOR le había dicho. Pero porque él estaba demasiado temeroso de la familia de la casa de su padre y los hombres del pueblo para hacerlo durante el día, él lo hizo en la noche.

Entonces Gedeón tomó diez hombres de sus siervos, é hizo como Jehová le dijo. Mas temiendo hacerlo de día, por la familia de su padre y por los hombres de la ciudad, hízolo de noche.

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father’s household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.

Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had spoken to him. Because he feared his father’s household and the men of the city, he could not do it by day, but he did it by night.

En la mañana cuado los hombres del pueblo se levantaron, el altar de Baal estaba derribado, y el palo de Asera que estaba a su lado estaba cortado, y el segundo toro había sido ofrecido sobre el altar que había sido construido.

Y á la mañana, cuando los de la ciudad se levantaron, he aquí que el altar de Baal estaba derribado, y cortado el bosque que junto á él estaba, y sacrificado aquel segundo toro en holocausto sobre el altar edificado.

And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.

When the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was broken down, and the Asherah was cut down that was by it, and the second bull was offered on the altar that was built.

Los hombres de la ciudad se dijeron unos a otros, "¿Quién ha hecho esto?" Cuando ellos hablaron unos con otros y buscaron respuestas, ellos dijeron, "Gedeón hijo de Joás ha hecho esta cosa."

Y decíanse unos á otros: ¿Quién ha hecho esto? Y buscando é inquiriendo, dijéronles: Gedeón hijo de Joas lo ha hecho. Entonces los hombres de la ciudad dijeron á Joas:

And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing.

They said to one another, “Who has done this thing?” When they inquired and asked, they said, “Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.”

Entonces los hombres del pueblo dijeron a Joás, "Saca a tu hijo para que muera, porque él derribó el altar de Baal, y porque él cortó el palo de Asera a su lado."

Saca fuera tu hijo para que muera, por cuanto ha derribado el altar de Baal y ha cortado el bosque que junto á él estaba.

Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.

Then the men of the city said to Joash, “Bring out your son, that he may die, because he has broken down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the Asherah that was by it.”

Joás dijo a todos lo que se le oponían a él, "¿Alegarás tú el caso por Baal? ¿Lo salvarás tú? El que alegue el caso por él, que éste sea muerto mientras todavía es de mañana. Si Baal es dios, déjenlo a él defenderse él mismo cuando alguien derriba su altar."

Y Joas respondió á todos los que estaban junto á él: ¿Tomaréis vosotros la demanda por Baal? ¿le salvaréis vosotros? Cualquiera que tomare la demanda por él, que muera mañana. Si es Dios, contienda por sí mismo con el que derribó su altar.

And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.

Joash said to all who stood against him, “Will you contend for Baal? Or will you save him? He who will contend for him, let him be put to death by morning! If he is a god, let him contend for himself, because someone has broken down his altar!”

Por lo tanto en ese día ellos llamaron a Gedeón "Jerobaal," porque él dijo, "Deja que Baal se defienda él mismo contra él," porque Gedeón derribó el altar de Baal.

Y aquel día llamó él á Gedeón Jerobaal; porque dijo: Pleitee Baal contra el que derribó su altar.

Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.

Therefore on that day he named him Jerub-Baal, saying, “Let Baal contend against him, because he has broken down his altar.”

Ahora todos los madianitas, los amalecitas, y la gente del este se juntaron. Cruzaron el Jordán y acamparon en el valle de Jezreel.

Y todos los Madianitas, y Amalecitas, y orientales, se juntaron á una, y pasando asentaron campo en el valle de Jezreel.

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.

Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east assembled themselves together; and they passed over, and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

Pero el Espíritu del SEÑOR vino sobre Gedeón. Gedeón sonó una trompeta, llamando al grupo de familias de Abiezer, para que ellos pudieran seguirlo.

Y el espíritu de Jehová se envistió en Gedeón, y como éste hubo tocado el cuerno, Abiezer se juntó con él.

But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.

But the LORD’s Spirit came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered together to follow him.

Él envió mensajeros a través de todo Manasés, y ellos también fueron llamados a seguirlo. Él también envió mensajeros a Aser, Zabulón, y Neftalí, y ellos subieron a encontrarse con él.

Y envió mensajeros por todo Manasés, el cual también se juntó con él: asimismo envió mensajeros á Aser, y á Zabulón, y á Nephtalí, los cuales salieron á encontrarles.

And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

Gedeón dijo a Dios, "Si tu intención es usarme para salvar a Israel, según tú has dicho-

Y Gedeón dijo á Dios: Si has de salvar á Israel por mi mano, como has dicho,

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,

Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken,

Mira, yo estoy poniendo una piel de lana de oveja en el suelo. Si hay sólo rocío sobre la lana, y todo el suelo está seco, entonces yo sabré que tú me usarás para salvar a Israel, según tú dijiste."

He aquí que yo pondré un vellón de lana en la era; y si el rocío estuviere en el vellón solamente, quedando seca toda la otra tierra, entonces entenderé que has de salvar á Israel por mi mano, como lo has dicho.

Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I’ll know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken.”

Esto es lo que pasó--Gedeón se levantó temprano la siguiente mañana, él presionó la lana, y exprimió el rocío de la lana, suficiente para llenar con agua un recipiente.

Y aconteció así: porque como se levantó de mañana, exprimiendo el vellón sacó de él el rocío, un vaso lleno de agua.

And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

It was so; for he rose up early on the next day, and pressed the fleece together, and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

Entonces Gedeón dijo a Dios, "No te enojes conmigo, yo hablaré una vez más. Por favor permíteme una prueba más utilizando la lana. Esta vez haz a la lana seca, y permite que haya rocío sobre el suelo alrededor de ella."

Mas Gedeón dijo á Dios: No se encienda tu ira contra mí, si aun hablare esta vez: solamente probaré ahora otra vez con el vellón. Ruégote que la sequedad sea sólo en el vellón, y el rocío sobre la tierra.

And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

Gideon said to God, “Don’t let your anger be kindled against me, and I will speak but this once. Please let me make a trial just this once with the fleece. Let it now be dry only on the fleece, and on all the ground let there be dew.”

Dios hizo lo que él le pidió esa noche. La lana estaba seca, y había rocío sobre todo el suelo a su alrededor.

Y aquella noche lo hizo Dios así: porque la sequedad fué sólo en el vellón, y en toda la tierra estuvo el rocío.

And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
