Ahora el SEÑOR dejó a estas naciones para probar a Israel, es decir a todos los que en Israel no habían experimentado las guerras luchadas en Canaán.

ESTAS, pues, son las gentes que dejó Jehová para probar con ellas á Israel, á todos aquellos que no habían conocido todas las guerras de Canaán;

Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to test Israel by them, even as many as had not known all the wars of Canaan;

(Él hizo esto para enseñar la guerra a los descendientes de los israelitas que no la habían conocido.)

Para que al menos el linaje de los hijos de Israel conociese, para enseñarlos en la guerra, siquiera fuese á los que antes no la habían conocido:

Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at least those who knew nothing of it before:

Estas son las naciones: los cinco reyes de los filisteos, todos los cananeos, los sidonios, y los heveos que vivían en las montañas del Líbano, desde el Monte de Baal Hermón hasta Lebo Hamat.

Cinco príncipes de los Philisteos, y todos los Cananeos, y los Sidonios, y los Heveos que habitaban en el monte Líbano: desde el monte de Baal-hermón hasta llegar á Hamath.

Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-hermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

the five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who lived on Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath.

Estas naciones se quedaron allí para ser el intrumento el cual el SEÑOR usaría para probar a Israel, para confirmar si ellos obedecerían los mandamientos que Él le dio a sus antepasados a través de Moisés.

Estos pues fueron para probar por ellos á Israel, para saber si obedecerían á los mandamientos de Jehová, que él había prescrito á sus padres por mano de Moisés.

And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

They were left to test Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the LORD’s commandments, which he commanded their fathers by Moses.

Así que el pueblo de Israel vivió entre los cananeos, los hititas, los amorreos, los ferezeos, los heveos y los jebuseos.

Así los hijos de Israel habitaban entre los Cananeos, Hetheos, Amorrheos, Pherezeos, Heveos, y Jebuseos:

And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:

The children of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

A sus hijas, ellos las tomaron para que fueran sus esposas, y a sus propias hijas, ellos las dieron a sus hijos, y ellos sirvieron a sus dioses.

Y tomaron de sus hijas por mujeres, y dieron sus hijas á los hijos de ellos, y sirvieron á sus dioses.

And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

El pueblo de Israel hizo lo que era malo antes los ojos del SEÑOR y olvidó al SEÑOR su Dios. Ellos adoraron a los Baales y a las Aseras.

Hicieron, pues, los hijos de Israel lo malo en ojos de Jehová: y olvidados de Jehová su Dios, sirvieron á los Baales, y á los ídolos de los bosques.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.

The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and forgot the LORD their God, and served the Baals and the Asheroth.

Por lo tanto, la ira del SEÑOR se incendió en contra de Israel, y Él los vendió en manos de Cusán Risataim, rey de Aram Naharaim. El pueblo de Israel sirvió a Cusán Risataim por ocho años.

Y la saña de Jehová se encendió contra Israel, y vendiólos en manos de Chusan-risathaim, rey de Mesopotamia; y sirvieron los hijos de Israel á Chusan-risathaim ocho años.

Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan-rishathaim eight years.

Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.

Cuando el pueblo de Israel clamó al SEÑOR, el SEÑOR levantó a alguien que ayudaría al pueblo de Israel, y quien los rescataría: Otoniel, hijo de Quenaz (el hermano menor de Caleb).

Y clamaron los hijos de Israel á Jehová; y Jehová suscitó salvador á los hijos de Israel y librólos; es á saber, á Othoniel hijo de Cenez, hermano menor de Caleb.

And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

When the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior to the children of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

El Espíritu del SEÑOR lo ayudó y le dió cualidades de gran líder, y él juzgó a Israel y salió a la guerra. El SEÑOR le dio la victoria sobre Cusán Risataim, rey de Aram. La mano de Otoniel derrotó a Cusán Risataim.

Y el espíritu de Jehová fué sobre él, y juzgó á Israel, y salió á batalla, y Jehová entregó en su mano á Chusan-risathaim, rey de Siria, y prevaleció su mano contra Chusan-risathaim.

And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.

The LORD’s Spirit came on him, and he judged Israel; and he went out to war, and the LORD delivered Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. His hand prevailed against Cushan Rishathaim.

La tierra tuvo paz por cuarenta años. Entonces Otoniel, hijo de Quenaz murió.

Y reposó la tierra cuarenta años; y murió Othoniel, hijo de Cenez.

And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

Después de esto, los israelitas hicieron otra vez lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR, y el SEÑOR le dio fuerza a Eglón, rey de Moab, para dominar a los israelitas.

Y tornaron los hijos de Israel á hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; y Jehová esforzó á Eglón rey de Moab contra Israel, por cuanto habían hecho lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the LORD’s sight.

Eglón se unió con los amonitas y los amalecitas, y ellos fueron y derrotaron a Israel, y ellos tomaron posesión de la Ciudad de las Palmeras (Jericó).

Y juntó consigo á los hijos de Ammón y de Amalec, y fué, é hirió á Israel, y tomó la ciudad de las palmas.

And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.

He gathered the children of Ammon and Amalek to himself; and he went and struck Israel, and they possessed the city of palm trees.

El pueblo de Israel sirvió a Eglón, el rey de Moab, por dieciocho años.

Y sirvieron los hijos de Israel á Eglón rey de los Moabitas diez y ocho años.

Cuando el pueblo de Israel clamó al SEÑOR, el SEÑOR levantó a alguien que los ayudaría, Aod, hijo de Gera, un benjamita, un hombre zurdo. El pueblo de Israel lo envió, con el pago de su tributo, a Eglón, rey de Moab.

Y clamaron los hijos de Israel á Jehová; y Jehová les suscitó salvador, á Aod, hijo de Gera, Benjamita, el cual tenía cerrada la mano derecha. Y los hijos de Israel enviaron con él un presente á Eglón rey de Moab.

But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

But when the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

Aod se hizo una espada que tenía dos filos, de un cuarenta y seis centímetros de largo; y la ató a su muslo derecho debajo de su ropa.

Y Aod se había hecho un puñal de dos filos, de un codo de largo; y ciñósele debajo de sus vestidos á su lado derecho.

But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.

Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he wore it under his clothing on his right thigh.

Él dio el pago de tributo al rey Eglón de Moab. (Ahora Eglón era un hombre muy obeso.)

Y presentó el presente á Eglón rey de Moab; y era Eglón hombre muy grueso.

And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.

He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.

Después de que Aod había presentado el pago de tributo, él se fue con aquellos que lo habían cargado.

Y luego que hubo presentado el don, despidió á la gente que lo había traído.

And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.

When Ehud had finished offering the tribute, he sent away the people who carried the tribute.

En cuanto a Aod, cuando él llegó al lugar donde habían hecho las imágenes cerca de Gilgal, se volteó y regresó, y dijo: "Tengo un mensaje secreto para usted, mi rey." Eglón dijo: "¡Silencio!" Así que todos aquellos sirviéndole salieron del cuarto.

Mas él se volvió desde los ídolos que están en Gilgal, y dijo: Rey, una palabra secreta tengo que decirte. El entonces dijo: Calla. Y saliéronse de con él todos los que delante de él estaban.

But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.

But he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” The king said, “Keep silence!” All who stood by him left him.

Aod vino a él. El rey estaba sentado, solo en la frescura del cuarto de arriba. Aod dijo: "Tengo un mensaje de Dios para usted." El rey se levantó de su asiento.

Y llegóse Aod á él, el cual estaba sentado solo en una sala de verano. Y Aod dijo: Tengo palabra de Dios para ti. El entonces se levantó de la silla.

And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.

Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, “I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.

Aod alcanzó con su mano izquierda la espada de su muslo derecho, y la clavó en el cuerpo del rey.

Mas Aod metió su mano izquierda, y tomó el puñal de su lado derecho, y metióselo por el vientre;

And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:

Ehud put out his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body.

Y la empuñadura de la espada también entró en él tras la cuchilla, la punta de la misma salió por su espalda, y la grasa se cerró sobre la cuchilla, pues Aod no sacó la espada de su estómago.

De tal manera que la empuñadura entró también tras la hoja, y la grosura encerró la hoja, que él no sacó el puñal de su vientre: y salió el estiércol.

And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.

The handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed on the blade, for he didn’t draw the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.

Entonces Aod salió al porche y cerró las puertas del cuarto de arriba tras sí y las aseguró.

Y saliendo Aod al patio, cerró tras sí las puertas de la sala.

Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.

Then Ehud went out onto the porch, and shut the doors of the upper room on him, and locked them.

Después de que Aod se había ido, los sirvientes del rey vinieron; ellos vieron que las puertas del cuarto superior estaban aseguradas, así que ellos pensaron: "Seguramente él se está aliviando en la frescura del cuarto superior."

Y salido él, vinieron sus siervos, los cuales viendo las puertas de la sala cerradas, dijeron: Sin duda él cubre sus pies en la sala de verano.

When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.

After he had gone, his servants came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked. They said, “Surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.”

Ellos estaban cada vez más preocupados, hasta que sintieron que estaban descuidando su deber, ya que el rey todavía no abría las puertas del cuarto superior. Así que ellos tomaron la llave y las abrieron, ahí estaba su amo, acostado en el piso, muerto.

Y habiendo esperado hasta estar confusos, pues que él no abría las puertas de la sala, tomaron la llave y abrieron: y he aquí su señor caído en tierra muerto.

And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

They waited until they were ashamed; and behold, he didn’t open the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their lord had fallen down dead on the floor.

Mientras los sirvientes estaban esperando, preguntándose lo que debían hacer, Aod escapó y pasó más allá del lugar donde estaban las imágenes cinceladas de ídolos, y así escapó a Seirat.

Mas entre tanto que ellos se detuvieron, Aod se escapó, y pasando los ídolos, salvóse en Seirath.

And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.

Ehud escaped while they waited, passed beyond the stone idols, and escaped to Seirah.

Cuando llegó, hizo sonar una trompeta en la región montañosa de Efraín. Entonces desde las colinas el pueblo de Israel descendió con él, y él los estaba dirigiendo.

Y como hubo entrado, tocó el cuerno en el monte de Ephraim, y los hijos de Israel descendieron con él del monte, y él iba delante de ellos.

And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.

When he had come, he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he led them.

Él les dijo a ellos: "Síganme, pues el SEÑOR está a punto de derrotar a sus enemigos, los moabitas." Ellos lo siguieron y ellos tomaron los orillas del Jordán al otro lado de los moabitas, y ellos no permitieron a nadie que cruzara el río.

Entonces él les dijo: Seguidme, porque Jehová ha entregado vuestros enemigos los Moabitas en vuestras manos. Y descendieron en pos de él, y tomaron los vados del Jordán á Moab, y no dejaron pasar á ninguno.

And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.

He said to them, “Follow me; for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and didn’t allow any man to pass over.

En ese momento ellos mataron cerca de diez mil hombres de Moab, y todos eran fuertes y hombres capaces. Ninguno escapó.

Y en aquel tiempo hirieron de los Moabitas como diez mil hombres, todos valientes y todos hombres de guerra; no escapó hombre.

And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.

They struck at that time about ten thousand men of Moab, every strong man and every man of valor. No man escaped.

Así que ese día, Moab fue sometida por la fuerza de Israel. Y la tierra había descansado por ochenta años.

Así quedó Moab sojuzgado aquel día bajo la mano de Israel: y reposó la tierra ochenta años.

So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

Después de Aod, el siguiente juez fue Samgar, hijo de Anat, quien mató 600 hombres de los filisteos con un palo usado para picar el ganado. Él también liberó a Israel del peligro.

Después de éste fué Samgar hijo de Anat, el cual hirió seiscientos hombres de los Filisteos con una aguijada de bueyes; y él también salvó á Israel.

And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
