Als der alte Mann seine Augen erhob und den Wanderer auf dem Platz der Stadt sah, sprach er: Wo willst du hin, und wo kommst du her?

Y alzando el viejo los ojos, vió á aquel viajante en la plaza de la ciudad, y díjole: ¿A dónde vas, y de dónde vienes?

And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?

He lifted up his eyes, and saw the wayfaring man in the street of the city; and the old man said, “Where are you going? Where did you come from?”
