1Il y avait un homme de la montagne d'Éphraïm, dont le nom était Mica.
2Il dit à sa mère: Les onze cents pièces d'argent qui te furent prises, et pour lesquelles tu fis des imprécations, même à mes oreilles, voici, cet argent est entre mes mains; c'est moi qui l'avais pris. Alors sa mère dit: Que mon fils soit béni par l'Éternel!
3Et il rendit à sa mère les onze cents pièces d'argent. Sa mère dit: Je consacre de ma main cet argent à l'Éternel pour mon fils, afin d'en faire une image taillée et une image de fonte; et maintenant, je te le rends.
4Il rendit l'argent à sa mère; et elle en prit deux cents pièces, et les donna au fondeur, qui en fit une image taillée et une image de fonte; et elles furent dans la maison de Mica.
5Ainsi ce Mica eut une maison de dieux; il fit un éphod et des théraphim, et consacra l'un de ses fils, qui lui servit de sacrificateur.
6En ce temps-là il n'y avait point de roi en Israël, chacun faisait ce qui lui semblait bon.
7Or, il y avait un jeune homme de Bethléhem de Juda, de la famille de Juda, qui était Lévite, et il séjournait là.
8Cet homme partit de la ville de Bethléhem de Juda, pour aller demeurer où il trouverait son avantage. Et il vint, en poursuivant son chemin, à la montagne d'Éphraïm, jusqu'à la maison de Mica.
9Et Mica lui dit: D'où viens-tu? Le Lévite lui répondit: Je suis de Bethléhem de Juda, et je cherche une demeure où je trouverai mon avantage.
10Et Mica lui dit: Demeure avec moi, et sers-moi de père et de sacrificateur; et je te donnerai dix pièces d'argent par an, un habillement complet et ta nourriture. Et le Lévite y alla.
11Ainsi le Lévite se décida à demeurer avec cet homme, et ce jeune homme fut pour lui comme l'un de ses fils.
12Et Mica consacra le Lévite, et le jeune homme lui servit de sacrificateur, et demeura dans sa maison.
13Alors Mica dit: Maintenant je sais que l'Éternel me fera du bien, parce que j'ai ce Lévite pour sacrificateur.

1HUBO un hombre del monte de Ephraim, que se llamaba Michâs.
2El cual dijo á su madre: Los mil y cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, por lo que tú maldecías oyéndolo yo, he aquí que yo tengo este dinero: yo lo había tomado. Entonces la madre dijo: Bendito seas de Jehová, hijo mío.
3Y luego que él hubo vuelto á su madre los mil y cien siclos de plata, su madre dijo: Yo he dedicado este dinero á Jehová de mi mano para ti, hijo mío, para que hagas una imagen de talla y de fundición: ahora pues, yo te lo devuelvo.
4Mas volviendo él á su madre los dineros, tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata, y diólos al fundidor: y él le hizo de ellos una imagen de talla y de fundición, la cual fué puesta en casa de Michâs.
5Y tuvo este hombre Michâs casa de dioses, é hízose hacer ephod y teraphim, y consagró uno de sus hijos; y fuéle por sacerdote.
6En estos días no había rey en Israel: cada uno hacía como mejor le parecía.
7Y había un joven de Beth-lehem de Judá, de la tribu de Judá, el cual era Levita; y peregrinaba allí.
8Este hombre se había partido de la ciudad de Beth-lehem de Judá, para ir á vivir donde hallase; y llegando al monte de Ephraim, vino á casa de Michâs, para de allí hacer su camino.
9Y Michâs le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y el Levita le respondió: Soy de Beth-lehem de Judá, y voy á vivir donde hallare.
10Entonces Michâs le dijo: Quédate en mi casa, y me serás en lugar de padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, y el ordinario de vestidos, y tu comida. Y el Levita se quedó.
11Acordó pues el Levita en morar con aquel hombre, y él lo tenía como á uno de sus hijos.
12Y Michâs consagró al Levita, y aquel joven le servía de sacerdote, y estaba en casa de Michâs.
13Y Michâs dijo: Ahora sé que Jehová me hará bien, pues que el Levita es hecho mi sacerdote.

1And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
2And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my son.
3And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
4Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
5And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
7And there was a young man out of Beth-lehem-judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
8And the man departed out of the city from Beth-lehem-judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
9And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.
10And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
11And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
World English Bible
1There was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
2He said to his mother, “The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears—behold, the silver is with me. I took it.” His mother said, “May the LORD bless my son!”
3He restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, then his mother said, “I most certainly dedicate the silver to the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a molten image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”
4When he restored the money to his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave them to a silversmith, who made a carved image and a molten image out of it. It was in the house of Micah.
5The man Micah had a house of gods, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did that which was right in his own eyes.
7There was a young man out of Bethlehem Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he lived there.
8The man departed out of the city, out of Bethlehem Judah, to live where he could find a place, and he came to the hill country of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, as he traveled.
9Micah said to him, “Where did you come from?” He said to him, “I am a Levite of Bethlehem Judah, and I am looking for a place to live.”
10Micah said to him, “Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten pieces of silver per year, a suit of clothing, and your food.” So the Levite went in.
11The Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.
12Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13Then Micah said, “Now I know that the LORD will do good to me, since I have a Levite as my priest.”
