6Da sagten sie zu ihm: Sprich doch: Schibboleth. Sprach er aber Sibboleth und konnte es nicht richtig reden, so ergriffen sie ihn und schlachteten ihn an den Furten des Jordans. Und es fielen zu selbiger Zeit von Ephraim zweiundvierzigtausend.

6Entonces le decían: Ahora pues, di, Shiboleth. Y él decía, Siboleth; porque no podía pronunciar de aquella suerte. Entonces le echaban mano, y le degollaban junto á los vados del Jordán. Y murieron entonces de los de Ephraim cuarenta y dos mil.

6Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
World English Bible
6then they said to him, “Now say ‘Shibboleth;’” and he said “Sibboleth”; for he couldn’t manage to pronounce it correctly, then they seized him and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. At that time, forty-two thousand of Ephraim fell.
