Dopo Abimelech fu capo d'Israele Thola, figliuolo di Phua zio di Abimelech, il quale era della tribù d'Issachar, e abitava in Samir sul monte Ephraim:

Y DESPUÉS de Abimelech levantóse para librar á Israel, Tola hijo de Púa, hijo de Dodo, varón de Issachâr, el cual habitaba en Samir, en el monte de Ephraim.

And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.

Ed egli avea trenta figliuoli che cavalcavano trenta asini giovani, ed eran principi di trenta città nel paese di Galaad, le quali dal nome di lui ebber nome Havoth-Jair, vale a dire città di Jair, fino al di d'oggi.

Este tuvo treinta hijos que cabalgaban sobre treinta asnos, y tenían treinta villas, que se llamaron las villas de Jair hasta hoy, las cuales están en la tierra de Galaad.

Ma i figliuoli d'Israele aggiungendo a' vecchi de' nuovi peccati, fecero il male nel cospetto del Signore; e servirono agl'idoli, a Baal, e ad Astaroth, e agli dei della Siria, e di Sidone, e di Moab e dei figliuoli di Ammon, e de' Filistei, e abbandonarono il Signore e non l'onorarono.

Mas los hijos de Israel tornaron á hacer lo malo en los ojos de Jehová, y sirvieron á los Baales y á Astaroth, y á los dioses de Siria, y á los dioses de Sidón, y á los dioses de Moab, y á los dioses de los hijos de Ammón, y á los dioses de los Filisteos: y dejaron á Jehová, y no le sirvieron.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.

The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned the LORD, and didn’t serve him.

Onde irato con essi il Signore li diede in potere de' Filistei, e dei figliuoli di Ammon.

E furono vessati e oppressi crudelmente per diciotto anni tutti quelli che abitano di là dal Giordano nel paese degli Amorrhei che è in Galaad:

Los cuales molieron y quebrantaron á los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo dieciocho años, á todos los hijos de Israel que estaban de la otra parte del Jordán en la tierra del Amorrheo, que es en Galaad.

And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

Di maniera che i figliuoli di Ammon passato il Giordano desolavano la Giudea, e Beniamin, ed Ephraim: e Israele fu abbattuto formisura.

E alzando le strida al Signore dissero: Abbiam peccato contro di te, perchè abbiamo abbandonato il Signore Dio nostro, e servito a Baal.

Y los hijos de Israel clamaron á Jehová, diciendo: Nosotros hemos pecado contra ti; porque hemos dejado á nuestro Dios, y servido á los Baales.

E il Signore disse loro: Non è egli vero che gli Egiziani, e gli Amorrhei, e i figliuoli di Ammon, e i Filistei,

Y Jehová respondió á los hijos de Israel: ¿No habéis sido oprimidos de Egipto, de los Amorrheos, de los Ammonitas, de los Filisteos,

And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

E anche i Sidonii e Amalech, e Canaan vi straziarono, e alzaste la voce a me, e io vi liberai dalle mani loro?

De los de Sidón, de Amalec, y de Maón, y clamando á mí os he librado de sus manos?

E con tutto questo mi abbandonaste, e rendeste onore agli dei stranieri: per questo io più non vi libererò.

Mas vosotros me habéis dejado, y habéis servido á dioses ajenos: por tanto, yo no os libraré más.

Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.

Andate ad invocare gli dei che avete eletti: essi vi liberino nel tempo di afflizione.

Ma i figliuoli d'Israele dissero al Signore: Abbiam peccato; fa di noi quello che ti piace: per questa volta sola liberaci.

Y los hijos de Israel respondieron á Jehová: Hemos pecado; haz tú con nosotros como bien te pareciere: solamente que ahora nos libres en este día.

And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

E avendo dette queste cose gittaron fuora de' loro confini tutti i simulacri degli dei stranieri, e servirono al Signore Dio, il quale ebbe compassione delle loro miserie.

Y quitaron de entre sí los dioses ajenos, y sirvieron á Jehová: y su alma fué angustiada á causa del trabajo de Israel.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Intanto i figliuoli di Ammon con alte grida piantaron le tende in Galaad: contro de' quali adunatisi i figliuoli d'Israele, posero il campo in Maspha.

E i principi di Galaad si dissero l'uno all'altro: Quegli di noi che sarà il primo ad attaccare la mischia co' figliuoli di Ammon, sarà condottiere del popolo di Galaad. E fatto giudice Jephte, il quale acceso da spirito divino primieramente espone sue ragioni al re degli Ammoniti; e di poi avendoli vinti per ragione di un voto fatto temerariamente a Dio, sacrifica l'unica sua figliuola.

Y los príncipes y el pueblo de Galaad dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Quién será el que comenzará la batalla contra los hijos de Ammón? él será cabeza sobre todos los que habitan en Galaad.

And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

The people, the princes of Gilead, said to one another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
