Isaías 9

Tu hai moltiplicata la nazione, tu gli hai accresciuta l’allegrezza; essi si son rallegrati nel tuo cospetto, come l’uomo si rallegra nella ricolta, come altri festeggia quando si spartiscono le spoglie.

Aumentando la gente, no aumentaste la alegría. Alegraránse delante de ti como se alegran en la siega, como se gozan cuando reparten despojos.

Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the plunder.
