Isaías 6

1Alrededor del solio estaban los serafines, cada uno de ellos tenía seis alas; con dos cubrían su rostro, y con dos cubrían los pies, y con dos volaban.
2Y con voz esforzada cantaban a coro, diciendo: ¡Santo, Santo, Santo, el Señor Dios de los ejércitos, llena está toda la tierra de su gloria!
3Y se estremecieron los dinteles y quicios de las puertas a la voz del que cantaba, y se llenó de humo el templo.
4Y dije: ¡Desgraciado de mí que no he hablado, por ser yo hombre de labios impuros, y habitar en medio de un pueblo cuyos labios están contaminados; y he visto con mis propios ojos al Rey, Señor de los ejércitos!
5Y voló hacía mí uno de los serafines, y en su mano tenía una brasa ardiente, que con las tenazas había tomado de encima del altar.
6Y tocó con ella mi boca, y dijo: He aquí que la brasa ha tocado tus labios, y será quitada tu iniquidad, y tu pecado será expiado.
7Y luego oí la voz del Señor, que decía: ¿A quién enviaré?, y ¿quién irá por nosotros?; y respondí yo: Aquí estoy; envíame a mí.
8Y dijo entonces el Señor: Anda y dirás a ese pueblo: Oiréis y más oiréis, y no querréis entender; y veréis lo que presento a vuestros ojos, y no querréis haceros cargo de ello.
9Embota el corazón de ese pueblo, tapa sus orejas, y véndale los ojos; no sea que quizá con sus ojos vea, y con sus orejas oiga, y comprenda con su mente, y se convierta, y tenga yo que curarle.
10Y dije yo: ¿Hasta cuándo durará, Señor, tu indignación? Y respondió: Hasta que desoladas las ciudades, queden sin habitantes, y las casas sin gente, y la tierra desierta.
11Y el Señor arrojará a los hombres lejos de su país, y se multiplicarán los que quedaron sobre la tierra.
12Y todavía serán éstos diezmados, y se convertirán otra vez al Señor, y denotarán su pasada grandeza como un terebinto, y como una vieja encina que extendía muy lejos sus ramas; y la simiente que de ellos quedará, será una semilla santa.
13Y sucedió que reinando en Judá Acaz, hijo de Joatán, hijo de Ozías, vino Rasín, rey de Siria, con Facee, hijo de Romeía, rey de Israel, sobre Jerusalén para combatir contra ella, y no pudieron tomarla.

1EN el año que murió el rey Uzzías vi yo al Señor sentado sobre un trono alto y sublime, y sus faldas henchían el templo.
2Y encima de él estaban serafines: cada uno tenía seis alas; con dos cubrían sus rostros, y con dos cubrían sus pies, y con dos volaban.
3Y el uno al otro daba voces, diciendo: Santo, santo, santo, Jehová de los ejércitos: toda la tierra está llena de su gloria.
4Y los quiciales de las puertas se estremecieron con la voz del que clamaba, y la casa se hinchió de humo.
5Entonces dije: ¡Ay de mí! que soy muerto; que siendo hombre inmundo de labios, y habitando en medio de pueblo que tiene labios inmundos, han visto mis ojos al Rey, Jehová de los ejércitos.
6Y voló hacia mí uno de los serafines, teniendo en su mano un carbón encendido, tomado del altar con unas tenazas:
7Y tocando con él sobre mi boca, dijo: He aquí que esto tocó tus labios, y es quitada tu culpa, y limpio tu pecado.
8Después oí la voz del Señor, que decía: ¿A quién enviaré, y quién nos irá? Entonces respondí yo: Heme aquí, envíame á mí.
9Y dijo: Anda, y di á este pueblo: Oid bien, y no entendáis; ved por cierto, mas no comprendáis.
10Engruesa el corazón de aqueste pueblo, y agrava sus oídos, y ciega sus ojos; porque no vea con sus ojos, ni oiga con sus oídos, ni su corazón entienda, ni se convierta, y haya para él sanidad.
11Y yo dije: ¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? Y respondió él: Hasta que las ciudades estén asoladas, y sin morador, ni hombre en las casas, y la tierra sea tornada en desierto;
12Hasta que Jehová hubiere echado lejos los hombres, y multiplicare en medio de la tierra la desamparada.
13Pues aun quedará en ella una décima parte, y volverá, bien que habrá sido asolada: como el olmo y como el alcornoque, de los cuales en la tala queda el tronco, así será el tronco de ella la simiente santa.

1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

4The foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
5Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Armies!”
6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
7He touched my mouth with it, and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin forgiven.”
8I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
9He said, “Go, and tell this people, ‘You hear indeed, but don’t understand. You see indeed, but don’t perceive.’
10Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”
11Then I said, “Lord, how long?” He answered, “Until cities are waste without inhabitant, houses without man, the land becomes utterly waste,
12and the LORD has removed men far away, and the forsaken places are many within the land.
13If there is a tenth left in it, that also will in turn be consumed, as a terebinth, and as an oak whose stump remains when they are cut down, so the holy seed is its stump.”
