1Who is this coming in from Edom With bright-red garments, from Bozrah? This made splendid in his raiment, Marching on in the greatness of his strength? I, speaking in righteousness, Mighty to save.
2Wherefore is there red, on thy raiment,—And thy garments as of one treading in a wine-trough?
3A winepress, have I trodden, alone, And of the peoples, there was no man with me. So I trod them down in mine anger, And trampled upon them, in mine indignation,—And their life-blood besprinkled my garments, And all mine apparel, I defiled;
4For, a day of avenging, was in my heart, And the year of my redeemed, had come.
5Therefore looked I around, and there was none to help,—And I was astonished that there was none to uphold,—So, mine own arm brought me salvation, And mine indignation, the same upheld me;
6Then trod I down peoples in mine anger, And make them drunk with mine indignation, And brought down to the earth their life-blood.
7The lovingkindness of Yahweh, will I recall the praises of Yahweh, According to all that Yahweh hath bestowed upon us,—Even the abundance of goodness to the house of Israel, Which he bestowed upon them—According to his compassions and According to the abundance of his lovingkindness.
8Therefore he said—Surely my people, they are, Sons, they will not act falsely! So he became their saviour.
9In all their affliction, he, was afflicted And the messenger of his presence saved them, In his love and in his pity, he, redeemed them,—And then lifted them up and carried them all the days of the age-past time.
10But, they, rebelled, and grieved his Holy Spirit,—And so he turned against them as an enemy, he himself, fought against them.
11Then were recalled the days of the age-past time Moses—his people:—Where is he that led them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he that put within him his Holy Spirit?
12That caused to go at the right hand of Moses his own majestic arm,—Cleaving the waters from before them, To make himself an age-abiding name:
13Causing them to go through the roaring deeps,—Like a horse through the wilderness, That they should not stumble?
14As a beast, into the valley, goeth down, The Spirit of Yahweh, causeth him to rest, So, didst thou lead thy people, To make thyself a majestic name!
15Look thou down, out of the heavens and see, Out of the high abode of thy holiness and of thy majesty,—Where are thy jealousy, and thy mighty deeds? The resounding of thy yearning affection, and thy compassions towards me, are they restrained?
16For, thou, art our father, Though, Abraham, knew us not, And Israel could not acknowledge us,—Thou, O Yahweh, art our father, Our Redeemer from the Age-past time, is thy name.
17Wherefore shouldst thou suffer us to wander O Yahweh, from thy ways? Wherefore shouldst thou let us harden our heart past revering thee? Return thou for the sake of Thy servants, The tribes thou thyself hast inherited.
18For a short time only, did thy holy people hold possession,—Our adversaries, trod down thy sanctuary!
19We have become like those Over whom from age-past times, thou hast not ruled, Who have never been called by thy name!

1¿QUIÉN es éste que viene de Edom, de Bosra con vestidos bermejos? ¿éste hermoso en su vestido, que marcha en la grandeza de su poder? Yo, el que hablo en justicia, grande para salvar.
2¿Por qué es bermejo tu vestido, y tus ropas como del que ha pisado en lagar?
3Pisado he yo solo el lagar, y de los pueblos nadie fué conmigo: pisélos con mi ira, y hollélos con mi furor; y su sangre salpicó mis vestidos, y ensucié todas mis ropas.
4Porque el día de la venganza está en mi corazón, y el año de mis redimidos es venido.
5Y miré y no había quien ayudara, y maravilléme que no hubiera quien sustentase: y salvóme mi brazo, y sostúvome mi ira.
6Y con mi ira hollé los pueblos, y embriaguélos de mi furor, y derribé á tierra su fortaleza.
7De las misericordias de Jehová haré memoria, de las alabanzas de Jehová, conforme á todo lo que Jehová nos ha dado, y de la grandeza de su beneficencia hacia la casa de Israel, que les ha hecho según sus misericordias, y según la multitud de sus miseraciones.
8Porque dijo: Ciertamente mi pueblo son, hijos que no mienten; y fué su Salvador.
9En toda angustia de ellos él fué angustiado, y el ángel de su faz los salvó: en su amor y en su clemencia los redimió, y los trajo, y los levantó todos los días del siglo.
10Mas ellos fueron rebeldes, é hicieron enojar su espíritu santo; por lo cual se les volvió enemigo, y él mismo peleó contra ellos.
11Empero acordóse de los días antiguos, de Moisés y de su pueblo, diciendo: ¿Dónde está el que les hizo subir de la mar con el pastor de su rebaño? ¿dónde el que puso en medio de él su espíritu santo?
12¿El que los guió por la diestra de Moisés con el brazo de su gloria; el que rompió las aguas delante de ellos, haciéndose así nombre perpetuo?
13¿El que los condujo por los abismos, como un caballo por el desierto, sin que tropezaran?
14El espíritu de Jehová los pastoreó, como á una bestia que desciende al valle; así pastoreaste tu pueblo, para hacerte nombre glorioso.
15Mira desde el cielo, y contempla desde la morada de tu santidad y de tu gloria: ¿dónde está tu celo, y tu fortaleza, la conmoción de tus entrañas y de tus miseraciones para conmigo? ¿hanse estrechado?
16Tú empero eres nuestro padre, si bien Abraham nos ignora, é Israel no nos conoce: tú, oh Jehová, eres nuestro padre; nuestro Redentor perpetuo es tu nombre.
17¿Por qué, oh Jehová, nos has hecho errar de tus caminos, y endureciste nuestro corazón á tu temor? Vuélvete por amor de tus siervos, por las tribus de tu heredad.
18Por poco tiempo lo poseyó el pueblo de tu santidad: nuestros enemigos han hollado tu santuario.
19Hemos venido á ser como aquellos de quienes nunca te enseñoreaste, sobre los cuales nunca fué llamado tu nombre.

1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
3I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
5And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
6And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
7I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
8For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?
12That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
13That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?
14As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
15Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
16Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.
17O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.
18The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
19We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.

1Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? Who is this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2Why is your clothing red, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?
3“I have trodden the wine press alone. Of the peoples, no one was with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath. Their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.
4For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.
5I looked, and there was no one to help; and I wondered that there was no one to uphold. Therefore my own arm brought salvation to me. My own wrath upheld me.
6I trod down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath. I poured their lifeblood out on the earth.”
7I will tell of the loving kindnesses of the LORD and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has given to us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has given to them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
8For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely;” so he became their Savior.
9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
10But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. Therefore he turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought against them.
11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?”
12Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
13Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?
14As the livestock that go down into the valley, the LORD’s Spirit caused them to rest. So you led your people to make yourself a glorious name.
15Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory. Where are your zeal and your mighty acts? The yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.
16For you are our Father, though Abraham doesn’t know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us. You, LORD, are our Father. Our Redeemer from everlasting is your name.
17O LORD, why do you make us wander from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
18Your holy people possessed it but a little while. Our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.
19We have become like those over whom you never ruled, like those who were not called by your name.
