Isaías 49
Biblia Torres Amat
1¡Oíd, islas, y atended, pueblos distantes! El Señor me llamo desde el vientre de mi madre; se acordó o declaró mi nombre cuando yo estaba aún en el seno materno.
2E hizo mi boca o mis palabras como una aguda espada; bajo la sombra de su mano me cobijó; e hizo de mí como una saeta bien afilada, y me ha tenido guardado dentro de su aljaba.
3Y me dijo: Siervo mío eres tú, ¡oh Israel! en ti seré yo glorificado.
4Pero yo dije: En vano me he fatigado predicando a mi pueblo; sin motivo y en balde he consumido mis fuerzas; por tanto espero que el Señor me hará justicia, y en mi Dios está depositada la recompensa de mi obra.
5Por lo que ahora el Señor, que me destinó desde el seno de mi madre para ser siervo suyo, me dice que yo conduzca a Jacob nuevamente a él, mas Israel no querría reunirse: Yo, seré glorificado a los ojos del Señor, y mi Dios se ha hecho mi fortaleza.
6El me ha dicho: Poco es el que tú me sirvas para restaurar las tribus de Jacob y convertir los despreciables restos de Israel; he aquí que yo te he destinado para ser luz de las naciones a fin de que tú seas la salud o el Salvador enviado por mí hasta los últimos confines de la tierra.
7Esto dice el Señor, el Redentor, el Santo de Israel, al hombre reputado como despreciable entre los suyos; a la nación abominada de todos, a aquel que es tratado como un esclavo de los príncipes: Día vendrá en que los reyes y los príncipes al verte se levantarán, y te adorarán por amor del Señor, porque has sido fiel en tus promesas, y por amor del Santo de Israel que te escogió.
8Esto dice también el Señor: En el tiempo de mi beneplácito otorgué tu petición, y en el día de la salvación te auxilié y te conservé y te constituí reconciliador de mi pueblo, a fin de que tú restaurases la tierra, y entrases en posesión de las heredades devastadas;
9para que dijeses a los que están encarcelados: Salid fuera; y a los que están entre tinieblas: Venid a ver la luz. En medio de los caminos hallarán con qué alimentarse, y en toda la llanura habrá qué comer para ellos.
10No padecerán hambre ni sed, ni el ardor del sol les ofenderá; porque aquel Señor que usa de tanta misericordia para con ellos, los conducirá, y los llevará a beber en los manantiales de las aguas.
11Y haré caminos llanos para transitar por todos mis montes, y mis sendas se convertirán en calzadas.
12Mira cómo vienen unos de remotos países, y otros desde el septentrión, y desde el mar u occidente, y estos otros de las regiones del mediodía.
13¡Oh cielos!, entonad himnos; y tú ¡oh tierra!, regocíjate; resonad vosotros, ¡oh montes!, en alabanzas, porque el Señor ha consolado a su pueblo, y se apiadará de sus pobres.
14Y entonces dijo Sión: El Señor me ha abandonado, y se ha olvidado de mí el Señor.
15Pues, respondió el Señor, ¿puede la mujer olvidarse de su niño, sin que tenga compasión del hijo de sus entrañas? Pero aun cuando pudiese olvidarle, yo nunca podré olvidarme de ti.
16Mira cómo te llevo yo grabado en mis manos; tus muros los tengo siempre delante de mis ojos.
17Vendrán aquellos que han de reedificarte; y los que te destruían y asolaban se alejarán de ti.
18Levanta, ¡oh Jerusalén !, tus ojos y mira alrededor de ti: Todas estas gentes se han congregado para venir a ti. Yo te juro, dice el Señor, que de todas ellas te has de adornar como de un ropaje de gala, y engalanarte como una esposa.
19Porque tus desiertos y tus soledades, y la tierra cubierta con tus ruinas, todo será entonces angosto para tus muchos moradores, y serán arrojados lejos de ti los que te devoraban.
20Aun oirás que los hijos que tendrás después de tu esterilidad, dirán: Estrecho es para mí este lugar; dame sitio espacioso donde habite.
21Y tú dirás en tu corazón: ¿Quién me ha dado estos hijos a mí, que era estéril y no paría, expatriada y cautiva? Pues ¿quién crió estos hijos, estando yo sola y desamparada?; ¿de dónde han salido ellos?
22He aquí lo que responde el Señor Dios: Sábete que yo extenderé mi mano hacia las naciones, enarbolaré entre los pueblos mi estandarte. Y a tus hijos te los traerán en brazos, y en hombros llevarán a tus hijas.
23Y los reyes serán los que te alimenten, y las reinas tus amas de leche. Rostro por tierra te adorarán, y besarán el polvo de tus pies. Y entonces conocerás que yo soy el Señor. Y que no quedarán confundidos los que esperan en mí.
24¿Por ventura podrá quitársele a un hombre esforzado la presa?; ¿o podrá recobrarse aquello que ha arrebatado un varón valiente?
25Sí: porque esto dice el Señor: Ciertamente que le serán quitados al hombre esforzado los prisioneros que ha hecho, y será recobrado lo que arrebató el valiente. A aquellos, ¡oh Sión!, que te juzgaron a ti, yo los juzgaré; y yo salvaré a tus hijos.
26Yo haré comer a tus enemigos sus propias carnes; y que se embriaguen con su misma sangre, como si fuera vino nuevo; y sabrán todos los mortales que quien te salva soy yo el Señor, y que el fuerte Dios de Jacob es tu redentor.

1OIDME, islas, y escuchad, pueblos lejanos: Jehová me llamó desde el vientre; desde las entrañas de mi madre tuvo mi nombre en memoria.
2Y puso mi boca como espada aguda, cubrióme con la sombra de su mano; y púsome por saeta limpia, guardóme en su aljaba;
3Y díjome: Mi siervo eres, oh Israel, que en ti me gloriaré.
4Yo empero dije: Por demás he trabajado, en vano y sin provecho he consumido mi fortaleza; mas mi juicio está delante de Jehová, y mi recompensa con mi Dios.
5Ahora pues, dice Jehová, el que me formó desde el vientre por su siervo, para que convierta á él á Jacob. Bien que Israel no se juntará, con todo, estimado seré en los ojos de Jehová, y el Dios mío será mi fortaleza.
6Y dijo: Poco es que tú me seas siervo para levantar las tribus de Jacob, y para que restaures los asolamientos de Israel: también te dí por luz de las gentes, para que seas mi salud hasta lo postrero de la tierra.
7Así ha dicho Jehová, Redentor de Israel, el Santo suyo, al menospreciado de alma, al abominado de las gentes, al siervo de los tiranos: Verán reyes, y levantaránse príncipes, y adorarán por Jehová; porque fiel es el Santo de Israel, el cual te escogió.
8Así dijo Jehová: En hora de contentamiento te oí, y en el día de salud te ayudé: y guardarte he, y te daré por alianza del pueblo, para que levantes la tierra, para que heredes asoladas heredades;
9Para que digas á los presos: Salid; y á los que están en tinieblas: Manifestaos. En los caminos serán apacentados, y en todas las cumbres serán sus pastos.
10No tendrán hambre ni sed, ni el calor ni el sol los afligirá; porque el que tiene de ellos misericordia los guiará, y los conducirá á manaderos de aguas.
11Y tornaré camino todos mis montes, y mis calzadas serán levantadas.
12He aquí estos vendrán de lejos; y he aquí estotros del norte y del occidente, y estotros de la tierra de los Sineos.
13Cantad alabanzas, oh cielos, y alégrate, tierra; y prorrumpid en alabanzas, oh montes: porque Jehová ha consolado su pueblo, y de sus pobres tendrá misericordia.
14Mas Sión dijo: Dejóme Jehová, y el Señor se olvidó de mí.
15¿Olvidaráse la mujer de lo que parió, para dejar de compadecerse del hijo de su vientre? Aunque se olviden ellas, yo no me olvidaré de ti.
16He aquí que en las palmas te tengo esculpida: delante de mí están siempre tus muros.
17Tus edificadores vendrán aprisa; tus destruidores y tus asoladores saldrán de ti.
18Alza tus ojos alrededor, y mira: todos estos se han reunido, han venido á ti. Vivo yo, dice Jehová, que de todos, como de vestidura de honra, serás vestida; y de ellos serás ceñida como novia.
19Porque tus asolamientos, y tus ruinas, y tu tierra desierta, ahora será angosta por la multitud de los moradores; y tus destruidores serán apartados lejos.
20Aun los hijos de tu orfandad dirán á tus oídos: Angosto es para mí este lugar; apártate por amor de mí, para que yo more.
21Y dirás en tu corazón: ¿Quién me engendró estos? porque yo deshijada estaba y sola, peregrina y desterrada: ¿quién pues crió éstos? He aquí yo estaba dejada sola: éstos ¿dónde estaban?
22Así dijo el Señor Jehová: He aquí, yo alzaré mi mano á las gentes, y á los pueblos levantaré mi bandera; y traerán en brazos tus hijos, y tus hijas serán traídas en hombros.
23Y reyes serán tus ayos, y sus reinas tus amas de leche; el rostro inclinado á tierra te adorarán, y lamerán el polvo de tus pies: y conocerás que yo soy Jehová, que no se avergonzarán los que me esperan.
24¿Será quitada la presa al valiente? ó ¿libertaráse la cautividad legítima?
25Así empero dice Jehová: Cierto, la cautividad será quitada al valiente, y la presa del robusto será librada; y tu pleito yo lo pleitearé, y yo salvaré á tus hijos.
26Y á los que te despojaron haré comer sus carnes, y con su sangre serán embriagados como con mosto; y conocerá toda carne que yo Jehová soy Salvador tuyo, y Redentor tuyo, el Fuerte de Jacob.

1Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.
5And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.
6And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
8Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
14But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
17Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.
18Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
19For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
20The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.
21Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
22Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
23And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
24Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
World English Bible
1Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: the LORD has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.
2He has made my mouth like a sharp sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. He has made me a polished shaft. He has kept me close in his quiver.
3He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”
4But I said, “I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with the LORD, and my reward with my God.”
5Now the LORD, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in the LORD’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.
6Indeed, he says, “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”
7The LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”
8The LORD says, “I have answered you in an acceptable time. I have helped you in a day of salvation. I will preserve you and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage,
9saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’; to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves!’ “They shall feed along the paths, and their pasture shall be on all treeless heights.
10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them, for he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them by springs of water.
11I will make all my mountains a road, and my highways shall be exalted.
12Behold, these shall come from afar, and behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim.”
13Sing, heavens, and be joyful, earth! Break out into singing, mountains! For the LORD has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
14But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”
15“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!
16Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Your walls are continually before me.
17Your children hurry. Your destroyers and those who devastated you will leave you.
18Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says the LORD, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.
19“For, as for your waste and your desolate places, and your land that has been destroyed, surely now that land will be too small for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
20The children of your bereavement will say in your ears, ‘This place is too small for me. Give me a place to live in.’
21Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has conceived these for me, since I have been bereaved of my children and am alone, an exile, and wandering back and forth? Who has brought these up? Behold, I was left alone. Where were these?’”
22The Lord GOD says, “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and lift up my banner to the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; and those who wait for me won’t be disappointed.”
24Shall the plunder be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered?
25But the LORD says, “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce, for I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children.
26I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh; and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
