“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
Parlate al cuor di Gerusalemme, e racconsolatela; perocché è finita l'afflizione di lei, e la sua iniquità, e perdonata: ella ha ricevuto dalla mano del Signore il doppio per tutti i suoi peccati.
Hablad al corazón de Jerusalem: decidle á voces que su tiempo es ya cumplido, que su pecado es perdonado; que doble ha recibido de la mano de Jehová por todos sus pecados.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.

Voce di uno, che grida nel deserto: Preparate la via del Signore, raddirizzate nella solitudine i sentieri del nostro Dio.
Voz que clama en el desierto: Barred camino á Jehová: enderezad calzada en la soledad á nuestro Dios.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
Ogni valle sarà colmata, e ogni monte, e ogni colle sarà abbassato, e le strade storte diventeranno diritte, e piane le malagevoli;
Todo valle sea alzado, y bájese todo monte y collado; y lo torcido se enderece, y lo áspero se allane.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

Perocché manifesterassi la gloria del Signore, e vedran tutti gli uomini insieme quello, che la bocca del Signore ha annunziato.

Voce di uno, che dice: Grida. Ed io dissi: Che è quello, che io ho da gridare? Tutta carne è erba, e tutta la gloria di lei è come il fiore de' campi.
Voz que decía: Da voces. Y yo respondí: ¿Qué tengo de decir á voces? Toda carne es hierba, y toda su gloria como flor del campo:
The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

Si secca l'erba, e cade il fiore ogni volta che il fiato del Signore lo investe. Veramente un'erba è il popolo:
La hierba se seca, y la flor se cae; porque el viento de Jehová sopló en ella: ciertamente hierba es el pueblo.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the LORD’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
Si secca l'erba, e cade il fiore: ma la parola del Signor nostro sta in eterno.
Sécase la hierba, cáese la flor: mas la palabra del Dios nuestro permanece para siempre.

Sopra un alto monte ascendi tu, che evangelizzi Sionne: alza vigorosa la voce tua, o tu, che evangelizzi Gerusalemme: grida forte, non temere. Dì alle città di Giuda: Ecco il Dio vostro;
Súbete sobre un monte alto, anunciadora de Sión; levanta fuertemente tu voz, anunciadora de Jerusalem; levántala, no temas; di á las ciudades de Judá: ¡Veis aquí el Dios vuestro!
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
Ecco che il Signore Dio verrà con possanza, e il braccio di lui dominerà: ecco che egli ha seco la sua mercede, ed ha davanti a se l'opra sua.
He aquí que el Señor Jehová vendrá con fortaleza, y su brazo se enseñoreará: he aquí que su salario viene con él, y su obra delante de su rostro.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Egli come pastore pascerà il suo gregge: egli colla sua fortezza raccoglierà gli agnelli, e li solleverà al suo seno, porterà egli stesso le pecorelle, che sono piene.

Chi è colui, che ha misurato nel suo pugno le acque, e ha pesati i cieli nella palma distesa? Chi è, che con tre dita sostiene la macchina della terra, e scandaglia i monti, e mette in bilancia le colline?
¿Quién midió las aguas con su puño, y aderezó los cielos con su palmo, y con tres dedos allegó el polvo de la tierra, y pesó los montes con balanza, y con peso los collados?

Chi ha dato aiuto allo spirito del Signore? Chi gli ha dato consiglio, e chi gli ha insegnato?
¿Quién enseñó al espíritu de Jehová, ó le aconsejo enseñándole?

Chi ha egli chiamato a consulta, e chi è, che abbia istruito lui, e a lui abbia mostrata la via della giustizia, e lo abbia stradato nella scienza, e gli abbia fatto conoscer la strada della prudenza?
¿A quién demandó consejo para ser avisado? ¿Quién le enseñó el camino del juicio, ó le enseñó ciencia, ó le mostró la senda de la prudencia?
With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Ecco che le nazioni sono come una goccia della secchia, e son valutate come uno scrupolo, che dà il tratto alla bilancia: ecco che le isole son come un granellino di polvere.

E il Libano non ha legna a sufficienza pel fuoco, né le bestie del Libano basterebbero per gli olocausti.

L'artefice intelligente cerca legno forte, e che non si corrompa, proccura di assicurare l'idolo, che non sia smosso.
El pobre escoge, para ofrecerle, madera que no se corrompa; búscase un maestro sabio, que le haga una imagen de talla que no se mueva.
He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.
Non sapete voi, non avete udito, non fu egli annunziato a voi fin da principio, non avete voi compreso come fu fondata la terra?
¿No sabéis? ¿no habéis oído? ¿nunca os lo han dicho desde el principio? ¿no habéis sido enseñados desde que la tierra se fundó?
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

Que', che seggono sul globo della terra, e la abitano, sono quasi locuste. Dio distese qual sottilissima cosa i cieli, e li dispiegò come un padiglione, che serve d'alloggio.
El está asentado sobre el globo de la tierra, cuyos moradores son como langostas: él extiende los cielos como una cortina, tiéndelos como una tienda para morar:
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Egli riduce nel niente gl'investigatori delle occulte cose, ed annichila i giudici della terra.
El torna en nada los poderosos, y á los que gobiernan la tierra hace como cosa vana.
That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

E il loro tronco non è né piantato, né seminato, né radicato nella terra: colpiti dal soffio di lui inaridiscono, e sono dispersi come stoppia da un turbine:
Como si nunca fueran plantados, como si nunca fueran sembrados, como si nunca su tronco hubiera tenido raíz en la tierra; así que sopla en ellos se secan, y el torbellino los lleva como hojarascas.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
E a qual cosa mi avete voi assomigliato, e a qual cosa agguagliato mi avete, dice il Santo?
¿A qué pues me haréis semejante, ó seré asimilado? dice el Santo.
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Alzate all'alto gli occhi vostri, e considerate chi tali cose creò: chi la loro moltitudine guida con ordine, e tutte pel suo nome le chiama, e per la grandezza della possanza, e della fortezza, e della virtù di lui neppur una rimane indietro.
Levantad en alto vuestros ojos, y mirad quién crió estas cosas: él saca por cuenta su ejército: á todas llama por sus nombres; ninguna faltará: tal es la grandeza de su fuerza, y su poder y virtud.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
Per qual ragione dici tu, o Giacobbe, e pronunzi tu, o Israele: Non è noto al Signore lo stato mio, e non preme al mio Dio di farmi ragione?
¿Por qué dices, oh Jacob, y hablas tú, Israel: Mi camino es escondido de Jehová, y de mi Dios pasó mi juicio?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?
Ignori tu, e non hai udito, che Dio è l'eterno Signore, che creò la terra quant' ella è ampia; ch'ei non sente fiacchezza, né affanno, ed è imperscrutabile la sua sapienza?
¿No has sabido, no has oído que el Dios del siglo es Jehová, el cual crió los términos de la tierra? No se trabaja, ni se fatiga con cansancio, y su entendimiento no hay quien lo alcance.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
Egli al fiacco dà robustezza; e a que', che non sono, somministra forza, e vigore.
El da esfuerzo al cansado, y multiplica las fuerzas al que no tiene ningunas.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
La fresca età verrà meno per la stanchezza, e la gioventù per debolezza cadrà.
Los mancebos se fatigan y se cansan, los mozos flaquean y caen:
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

Ma que', che sperano nel Signore, acquisteranno nuova fortezza, prenderanno ale di aquila, correranno senza fatica, cammineranno senza stancarsi. Potenza di Dio infinita: sua bontà verso degli uomini. Redenzione di Giacobbe. Vanità degl'idoli.
Mas los que esperan á Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas; correrán, y no se cansarán; caminarán, y no se fatigarán.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
