Isaías 39

1Naquele tempo, Merodaque Baladão, filho de Baladão, rei da Babilônia, enviou cartas e um presente para Ezequias, pois ouviu que ele esteve enfermo e havia se recuperado.
2Ezequias ficou feliz com aquilo. Ele mostrou aos mensageiros onde armazenava suas coisas de valor — prata, ouro, especiarias e azeite fino — e mostrou também seu arsenal e tudo que existia em seus depósitos. Não ficou nada em sua casa, nem em toda extensão de seu reinado, que Ezequias não tenha mostrado aos mensageiros.
3Depois disso, o profeta Isaías veio até onde estava Ezequias e indagou: "O que esses homens te disseram? De onde vieram?". Respondeu Ezequias: "Eles vieram de uma terra distante, da Babilônia".
4Isaías perguntou: "O que viram em tua casa?". Ezequias respondeu: "Eles viram tudo que existe em minha casa. Não ficou nada de valor entre minhas coisas que não tenham visto".
5Isaías, então, disse a Ezequias: "Ouve a palavra de Yahweh dos Exércitos:
6‘Logo chegarão os dias quando tudo que estiver no teu palácio, as coisas que teus pais guardaram até o presente, serão levadas para Babilônia. Nada será deixado para trás’, diz Yahweh.
7“E os teus descendentes, que tu mesmo geraste, eles os levarão embora, e se tornarão eunucos no palácio do rei da Babilônia”.
8Ezequias disse para Isaías: “É boa a palavra de Yahweh a qual tu disseste”; pois pensava consigo: “Haverá paz e estabilidade durante os meus dias”.

1EN aquel tiempo Merodach-baladán, hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas y presentes á Ezechîas; porque había oído que había estado enfermo, y que había convalecido.
2Y holgóse con ellos Ezechîas, y enseñóles la casa de su tesoro, plata y oro, y especierías, y ungüentos preciosos, y toda su casa de armas, y todo lo que se pudo hallar en sus tesoros: no hubo cosa en su casa y en todo su señorío, que Ezechîas no les mostrase.
3Entonces Isaías profeta vino al rey Ezechîas, y díjole: ¿Qué dicen estos hombres, y de dónde han venido á ti? Y Ezechîas respondió: De tierra muy lejos han venido á mí, de Babilonia.
4Dijo entonces: ¿Qué han visto en tu casa? Y dijo Ezechîas: Todo lo que hay en mi casa han visto, y ninguna cosa hay en mis tesoros que no les haya mostrado.
5Entonces dijo Isaías á Ezechîas: Oye palabra de Jehová de los ejércitos:
6He aquí, vienen días en que será llevado á Babilonia todo lo que hay en tu casa, y lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy: ninguna cosa quedará, dice Jehová.
7De tus hijos que hubieren salido de ti, y que engendraste, tomarán, y serán eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.
8Y dijo Ezechîas á Isaías: La palabra de Jehová que has hablado, es buena. Y añadió: A lo menos, haya paz y verdad en mis días.

1At that time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
2And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
3Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
4Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
5Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:
6Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
7And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
8Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

1At that time, Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
2Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
3Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
4Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD of Armies:
6‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says the LORD.
7‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
8Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The LORD’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
