1En ce temps-là, Marodach Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya à Ézéchias des lettres, des messagers et des présents, parce qu'il avait appris sa maladie mortelle et sa guérison.
2Et à cause d'eux Ézéchias fut réjoui, et il leur montra la maison de Nechotha, et l'or, et l'argent, les parfums, les aromates et la myrrhe, puis l'arsenal et ses magasins, enfin tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses trésors. Et il n'y eut rien qu'Ézéchias ne fit voir dans son palais et dans ses domaines.
3Mais le prophète Isaïe alla trouver le roi Ézéchias, et il lui dit : Que vous ont dit ces hommes, et d'où sont-ils venus ? Ézéchias répondit : Ils sont venus vers moi d'une contrée lointaine, de Babylone.
4Et le prophète reprit : Qu'ont-ils vu dans ton palais ? Et le roi répondit : Ils ont vu tout ce que mon palais renferme ; il n'y a rien que je ne leur aie montré, soit dans mon palais, soit dans mes trésors.
5Et le prophète Isaïe dit à Ézéchias : Écoute la parole du Seigneur des armées.
6Voilà que les jours approchent où tout ce que renferme ton palais, tous les trésors que tes pères ont amassés jusqu'à ce moment, seront pris et iront à Babylone, et ils n'en laisseront rien ; ainsi l'a dit Dieu.
7Quant à tes fils que tu as engendrés, ils les prendront, ils les feront eunuques dans le palais du roi de Babylone.
8Et Ézéchias dit à Isaïe : Juste est la parole que le Seigneur a prononcée ; mais que la paix et la justice se maintiennent tous les jours de ma vie.

1EN aquel tiempo Merodach-baladán, hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas y presentes á Ezechîas; porque había oído que había estado enfermo, y que había convalecido.
2Y holgóse con ellos Ezechîas, y enseñóles la casa de su tesoro, plata y oro, y especierías, y ungüentos preciosos, y toda su casa de armas, y todo lo que se pudo hallar en sus tesoros: no hubo cosa en su casa y en todo su señorío, que Ezechîas no les mostrase.
3Entonces Isaías profeta vino al rey Ezechîas, y díjole: ¿Qué dicen estos hombres, y de dónde han venido á ti? Y Ezechîas respondió: De tierra muy lejos han venido á mí, de Babilonia.
4Dijo entonces: ¿Qué han visto en tu casa? Y dijo Ezechîas: Todo lo que hay en mi casa han visto, y ninguna cosa hay en mis tesoros que no les haya mostrado.
5Entonces dijo Isaías á Ezechîas: Oye palabra de Jehová de los ejércitos:
6He aquí, vienen días en que será llevado á Babilonia todo lo que hay en tu casa, y lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy: ninguna cosa quedará, dice Jehová.
7De tus hijos que hubieren salido de ti, y que engendraste, tomarán, y serán eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.
8Y dijo Ezechîas á Isaías: La palabra de Jehová que has hablado, es buena. Y añadió: A lo menos, haya paz y verdad en mis días.

1At that time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
2And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
3Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
4Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
5Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:
6Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
7And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
8Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

1At that time, Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
2Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
3Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
4Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the LORD of Armies:
6‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says the LORD.
7‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
8Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The LORD’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
