Isaías 30

«¡Ay de los hijos rebeldes — dice Yahvé — que toman consejo, pero no de mí; que se ajustan a planes, pero no según mi Espíritu, añadiendo pecado sobre pecado!

¡AY de los hijos que se apartan, dice Jehová, para tomar consejo, y no de mí; para cobijarse con cubierta, y no de mi espíritu, añadiendo pecado á pecado!

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

“Woe to the rebellious children”, says the LORD, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

Se proponen bajar a Egipto sin consultar mi boca, para fortalecerse con el poder de Faraón y ponerse al abrigo de la sombra de Egipto.

Pártense para descender á Egipto, y no han preguntado mi boca; para fortificarse con la fuerza de Faraón, y poner su esperanza en la sombra de Egipto.

That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

who set out to go down into Egypt without asking for my advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!

Por tanto, el poder de Faraón os servirá de vergüenza, y el amparo en la sombra de Egipto de confusión.

Mas la fortaleza de Faraón se os tornará en vergüenza, y el amparo en la sombra de Egipto en confusión.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Porque vuestros príncipes estuvieron en Zoán, y vuestros embajadores llegaron a Hanes.

Cuando estarán sus príncipes en Zoán, y sus embajadores habrán llegado á Hanes,

For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

Todos se avergonzarán de un pueblo que no les sirve de nada, que no es ayuda ni provecho, sino vergüenza y también oprobio».

Se avergonzarán todos del pueblo que no les aprovechará, ni los socorrerá, ni les traerá provecho; antes les será para vergüenza, y aun para oprobio.

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”

Oráculo sobre las bestias del Neguev. Por tierra de tribulación y de angustia, de donde vienen la leona y el león, la víbora y la serpiente voladora, llevan sus riquezas sobre los lomos de los pollinos y sus tesoros sobre las jorobas de los camellos, a un pueblo que no les será de provecho.

Carga de las bestias del mediodía: Por tierra de tribulación y de angustia, de donde salen la leona y el león, la víbora y la serpiente que vuela, llevan sobre lomos de jumentos sus riquezas, y sus tesoros sobre corcovas de camellos, á un pueblo que no les será de provecho.

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.

Ciertamente la ayuda de Egipto será vana e inútil; por eso la he llamado: «Rahab, la que se queda quieta».

Ciertamente Egipto en vano é inútilmente dará ayuda; por tanto yo le dí voces, que su fortaleza sería estarse quietos.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

Ve, pues, ahora, y escribe esto en una tabla delante de ellos, y regístralo en un libro, para que quede hasta el día postrero, por siempre y para siempre.

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

Porque este es pueblo rebelde, hijos mentirosos, hijos que no quisieron oír la ley de Yahvé;

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the LORD’s law;

que dicen a los videntes: «No veáis»; y a los profetas: «No nos profeticéis lo que es recto, decidnos cosas halagüeñas, profetizad mentiras.

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.

Dejad el camino, apartaos de la senda, quitad de nuestra presencia al Santo de Israel».

Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Por tanto, el Santo de Israel dice así: «Por cuanto desechasteis esta palabra, y confiasteis en la opresión y en la perversidad, y en ello os habéis apoyado,

Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

por tanto, os será este pecado como grieta que amenaza ruina, que se abre en un muro alto, cuya caída viene de repente, en un instante.

Por tanto os será este pecado como pared abierta que se va á caer, y como corcova en alto muro, cuya caída viene súbita y repentinamente.

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

Y se quebrará como se quiebra un vaso de alfarero, que sin piedad se hace pedazos; tanto que entre los trozos no se halla tiesto para traer fuego del hogar, o para sacar agua de la cisterna».

Y quebrarálo como se quiebra un vaso de alfarero, que sin misericordia lo hacen menuzos; tanto, que entre los pedazos no se halla tiesto para traer fuego del hogar, ó para coger agua de la poza.

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

He will break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won’t be found among the broken pieces a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”

Porque así dijo el Señor Yahvé, el Santo de Israel: «En el descanso y en el sosiego seréis salvos; en la quietud y en la confianza estará vuestra fortaleza». Pero no quisisteis,

For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence.” You refused,

sino que dijisteis: «No, antes huiremos en caballos»; por tanto, vosotros huiréis. Y: «Sobre corceles veloces cabalgaremos»; por tanto, serán veloces vuestros perseguidores.

But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

but you said, “No, for we will flee on horses;” therefore you will flee; and, “We will ride on the swift;” therefore those who pursue you will be swift.

Un millar huirá ante la amenaza de uno solo; ante la amenaza de cinco huiréis vosotros, hasta que quedéis como un mástil en la cumbre de un monte y como una señal sobre un collado.

Un millar huirá á la amenaza de uno; á la amenaza de cinco huiréis vosotros todos; hasta que quedéis como mástil en la cumbre de un monte, y como bandera sobre cabezo.

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.

Por tanto, Yahvé esperará para tener piedad de vosotros, y por tanto, será exaltado para tener de vosotros misericordia; porque Yahvé es Dios de justicia; bienaventurados todos los que confían en él.

Empero Jehová esperará para tener piedad de vosotros, y por tanto será ensalzado teniendo de vosotros misericordia: porque Jehová es Dios de juicio: bienaventurados todos los que le esperan.

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

Ciertamente el pueblo habitará en Sión, en Jerusalén; nunca más llorarás; el que tiene misericordia se apiadará de ti a la voz de tu clamor; al oírte, te responderá.

Ciertamente el pueblo morará en Sión, en Jerusalem: nunca más llorarás; el que tiene misericordia se apiadará de ti; en oyendo la voz de tu clamor te responderá.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

Bien que el Señor os dé pan de congoja y agua de angustia, con todo, tus maestros nunca más te serán quitados, sino que tus ojos verán a tus maestros.

Bien que os dará el Señor pan de congoja y agua de angustia, con todo, tus enseñadores nunca más te serán quitados, sino que tus ojos verán tus enseñadores.

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers won’t be hidden any more, but your eyes will see your teachers;

Entonces tus oídos oirán a tus espaldas palabra que diga: «Este es el camino, andad por él; y no echéis a la mano derecha, ni tampoco os desviéis a la izquierda».

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

Entonces profanaréis la cubierta de tus imágenes de plata y el chapado de tus imágenes de oro fundido; las apartarás como trapo inmundo. «¡Fuera de aquí!», les dirás.

Entonces profanarás la cobertura de tus esculturas de plata, y la vestidura de tu vaciadizo de oro: las apartarás como trapo de menstruo: ¡Sal fuera! les dirás.

Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

You shall defile the overlaying of your engraved images of silver, and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away as an unclean thing. You shall tell it, “Go away!”

Entonces dará el Señor lluvia a tu sementera, cuando siembres la tierra, y el pan del fruto de la tierra será abundante y pingüe; tus ganados en aquel día serán apacentados en anchas dehesas.

Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.

Tus bueyes y tus pollinos que labran la tierra comerán grano limpio, aventado con pala y bieldo.

Tus bueyes y tus asnos que labran la tierra, comerán grano limpio, el cual será aventado con pala y criba.

The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.

Y sobre todo monte alto, y sobre todo collado elevado, habrá ríos y corrientes de aguas el día de la gran matanza, cuando caerán las torres.

And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

There will be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

Y la luz de la luna será como la luz del sol, y la luz del sol siete veces mayor, como la luz de siete días, el día que vende Yahvé la herida de su pueblo y cure la llaga de su golpe.

Y la luz de la luna será como la luz del sol, y la luz del sol siete veces mayor, como la luz de siete días, el día que soldará Jehová la quebradura de su pueblo, y curará la llaga de su herida.

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.

He aquí que el nombre de Yahvé viene de lejos ardiendo en su furor, y con espeso humo; sus labios llenos de ira, y su lengua como fuego que consume.

He aquí que el nombre de Jehová viene de lejos: su rostro encendido, y grave de sufrir; sus labios llenos de ira, y su lengua como fuego que consume;

Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

Behold, the LORD’s name comes from far away, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation. His tongue is as a devouring fire.

Su aliento, como torrente que inunda, llegará hasta el cuello, para zarandear a las naciones con criba de destrucción; y habrá un freno que extravíe en las mandíbulas de los pueblos.

Y su aliento, cual torrente que inunda: llegará hasta el cuello, para zarandear las gentes con criba de destrucción; y el freno estará en las quijadas de los pueblos, haciéndoles errar.

And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction. A bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.

Vosotros tendréis cántico como de noche en que se celebra fiesta sagrada, y alegría de corazón como el que va con flauta para venir al monte de Yahvé, a la Roca de Israel.

Vosotros tendréis canción, como en noche en que se celebra pascua; y alegría de corazón, como el que va con flauta para venir al monte de Jehová, al Fuerte de Israel.

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept, and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to the LORD’s mountain, to Israel’s Rock.

Y Yahvé hará oír su voz potente, y mostrará el descenso de su brazo, con ardor de ira y llama de fuego consumidor, con torbellino, tempestad y piedra de granizo.

Y Jehová hará oir su voz potente, y hará ver el descender de su brazo, con furor de rostro, y llama de fuego consumidor; con dispersión, con avenida, y piedra de granizo.

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

The LORD will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.

Porque el asirio, ante la voz de Yahvé, quedará quebrantado al ser herido con la vara.

Porque Assur que hirió con palo, con la voz de Jehová será quebrantado.

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

For through the LORD’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.

Y cada paso de la vara de castigo que Yahvé descargue sobre él, será con panderos y cítaras; y en batallas de agitación peleará contra ellos.

Y en todo paso habrá madero fundado, que Jehová hará hincar sobre él con tamboriles y vihuelas, cuando con batallas de altura peleará contra ellos.

And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which the LORD will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.

Porque Tofet ya está preparado de antiguo, dispuesto para el rey; él lo hizo profundo y ancho, con pira de fuego y mucha leña; el soplo de Yahvé, como torrente de azufre, lo enciende.

Porque Topheth ya de tiempo está diputada y aparejada para el rey, profunda y ancha; cuyo foco es de fuego, y mucha leña; el soplo de Jehová, como torrente de azufre, la enciende.

For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, it is prepared for the king. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. The LORD’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
