1Das Wort, das Jesaja, der Sohn des Amoz, über Juda und Jerusalem empfing:
2In der letzten Zeit aber wird der Berg mit dem Tempel Jahwes fest gegründet stehen als der höchste unter den Bergen und über die Hügel erhaben sein, und alle Heiden werden zu ihm strömen,
3und viele Völker sich aufmachen und sprechen: Auf, laßt uns hinaufsteigen zum Berge Jahwes, zum Tempel des Gottes Jakobs, damit er uns über seine Wege belehre, und wir auf seinen Pfaden wandeln! Denn von Zion wird Lehre ausgehen und das Wort Jahwes von Jerusalem.
4Und er wird zwischen den Heiden richten und vielen Völkern Recht sprechen, und sie werden ihre Schwerter zu Karsten umschmieden und ihre Spieße zu Winzermessern. Kein Volk wird mehr gegen das andere das Schwert erheben und nicht mehr werden sie den Krieg erlernen.
5Haus Jakobs, auf! Laßt uns wandeln im Lichte Jahwes!
6Denn du hast dein Volk verstoßen; das Haus Jakobs. Denn sie sind voll von Wahrsagerei aus dem Osten und von Zauberern wie die Philister und schlagen in die Hand der Fremden ein.
7Ihr Land ward voll Silber und Gold - unermeßlich sind ihre Schätze -, ihr Land ward voll Rosse - unzählbar sind ihre Wagen -,
8ihr Land ward voll Götzen - vor dem Werk ihrer Hände werden sie sich nieder, vor dem, was ihre Finger gemacht haben.
9Da beugte sich der Mensch und demütigte sich der Mann, und du darfst ihnen nicht vergeben.
10Verkrieche dich in die Felsen und verbirg dich im Staub vor dem Schrecken Jahwes und vor seiner majestätischen Pracht.
11Und der Menschen Stolz wird gebeugt und der Männer Hochmut gedemütigt, und nur Jahwe wird an jenem Tag erhaben sein!
12Denn ein Tag Jahwes der Heerscharen wird kommen über alles Stolze und Hohe, und über alles Erhabene, daß es erniedrigt werde,
13über alle die hohen und erhabenen Cedern des Libanon und über alle Basanseichen,
14über alle die hohen Berge und über alle die hochragenden Hügel,
15über jeden hohen Turm und über jede steile Mauer,
16über alle die Tarsisschiffe und über alle die kostbaren Schaustücke.
17Dann wird der Menschen Stolz gebeugt und der Männer Hochmut gedemütigt, und nur Jahwe wird an jenem Tag erhaben sein!
18Und die Götzen - das alles fährt dahin!
19Da wird man in Felshöhlen gehen und in Erdlöcher vor dem Schrecken Jahwes und vor seiner majestätischen Pracht, wenn er sich erhebt, um die Erde zu schrecken.
20An jenem Tage werden die Menschen ihre silbernen und goldenen Götzen, die sie sich zur Anbetung gemacht haben, den Ratten und Fledermäusen hinwerfen,
21um sich in Bergklüfte und in die Risse der Felsen zu verkriechen vor dem Schrecken Jahwes und vor seiner majestätischen Pracht, wenn er sich erhebt, um die Erde zu schrecken.
22Sagt euch doch los von den Menschen, die nichts als Hauch in der Nase haben! Denn wofür sind sie zu achten?

1LO que vió Isaías, hijo de Amoz, tocante á Judá y á Jerusalem.
2Y acontecerá en lo postrero de los tiempos, que será confirmado el monte de la casa de Jehová por cabeza de los montes, y será ensalzado sobre los collados, y correrán á él todas las gentes.
3Y vendrán muchos pueblos, y dirán: Venid, y subamos al monte de Jehová, á la casa del Dios de Jacob; y nos enseñará en sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus sendas. Porque de Sión saldrá la ley, y de Jerusalem la palabra de Jehová.
4Y juzgará entre las gentes, y reprenderá á muchos pueblos; y volverán sus espadas en rejas de arado, y sus lanzas en hoces: no alzará espada gente contra gente, ni se ensayarán más para la guerra.
5Venid, oh casa de Jacob, y caminemos á la luz de Jehová.
6Ciertamente tú has dejado tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, porque son henchidos de oriente, y de agoreros, como los Filisteos; y en hijos ajenos descansan.
7Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, sus tesoros no tienen fin. También está su tierra llena de caballos; ni sus carros tienen número.
8Además está su tierra llena de ídolos, y á la obra de sus manos se han arrodillado, á lo que fabricaron sus dedos.
9Y hase inclinado el hombre, y el varón se ha humillado: por tanto no los perdonarás.
10Métete en la piedra, escóndete en el polvo, de la presencia espantosa de Jehová y del resplandor de su majestad.
11La altivez de los ojos del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y Jehová solo será ensalzado en aquel día.
12Porque día de Jehová de los ejércitos vendrá sobre todo soberbio y altivo, y sobre todo ensalzado; y será abatido:
13Y sobre todos los cedros del Líbano altos y sublimes, y sobre todos los alcornoques de Basán;
14Y sobre todos los montes altos, y sobre todos los collados levantados;
15Y sobre toda torre alta, y sobre todo muro fuerte;
16Y sobre todas las naves de Tarsis, y sobre todas pinturas preciadas.
17Y la altivez del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y solo Jehová será ensalzado en aquel día.
18Y quitará totalmente los ídolos.
19Y meteránse en las cavernas de las peñas, y en las aberturas de la tierra, por la presencia espantosa de Jehová, y por el resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantare él para herir la tierra.
20Aquel día arrojará el hombre, á los topos y murciélagos, sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que le hicieron para que adorase;
21Y se entrarán en las hendiduras de las rocas y en las cavernas de las peñas, por la presencia formidable de Jehová, y por el resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantare para herir la tierra.
22Dejaos del hombre, cuyo hálito está en su nariz; porque ¿de qué es él estimado?

1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
9And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

1This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.
3Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law shall go out of Zion, and the LORD’s word from Jerusalem.
4He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5House of Jacob, come, and let’s walk in the light of the LORD.
6For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
7Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
8Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
9Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them.
10Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the arrogance of men will be bowed down, and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.
12For there will be a day of the LORD of Armies for all that is proud and arrogant, and for all that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low—
13for all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan,
14for all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up,
15for every lofty tower, for every fortified wall,
16for all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.
17The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the arrogance of men shall be brought low; and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18The idols shall utterly pass away.
19Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
20In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,
21to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
22Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
