1La parole qui fut révélée à Ésaïe, fils d'Amots, sur Juda et Jérusalem.
2Et il arrivera, dans la suite des temps, que la montagne de la maison de l'Éternel aura ses fondements sur le sommet des montagnes, et s'élèvera au-dessus des éminences, et que tous les peuples y afflueront.
3Et des nations nombreuses s'achemineront en disant : « Venez, et montons à la montagne de l'Éternel, à la maison du Dieu de Jacob, et Il nous enseignera ses voies, et nous suivrons ses sentiers ! » Car la Loi sortira de Sion, et la parole de l'Éternel de Jérusalem ;
4et Il sera le juge des peuples et l'arbitre de nations nombreuses : et ils forgeront leurs épées en hoyaux, et leurs lances en serpes ; un peuple contre un peuple ne lèvera plus l'épée, et ils n'apprendront plus la guerre.
5Maison de Jacob, venez, et marchons à la lumière de l'Éternel !
6Car, ô Éternel, tu as abandonné ton peuple, la maison de Jacob, parce qu'ils sont pleins de l'Orient, et divinateurs comme les Philistins, et qu'ils donnent la main aux enfants de l'étranger :
7et son pays est plein d'argent et d'or, et ses trésors sont infinis ; et son pays est plein de chevaux, et ses chars sont innombrables ;
8et son pays est plein d'idoles ; ils se prosternent devant l'œuvre de leurs mains, devant ce qu'ont façonné leurs doigts.
9Mais l'homme sera abaissé et le personnage humilié, et tu ne saurais leur pardonner.
10Fuis dans les rochers et te cache dans la poussière, devant les terreurs de l'Éternel et devant l'éclat de sa majesté.
11Le fier regard de l'homme sera humilié, et l'orgueil du personnage abaissé, et l'Éternel en ce jour sera seul élevé.
12Car il est une journée de par l'Éternel des armées, contre tout ce qui est altier et élevé, et contre tout ce qui s'élève, afin qu'il soit humilié ;
13et contre tous les cèdres du Liban hauts et élevés, et contre tous les chênes de Basan,
14et contre toutes les montagnes élevées, et contre toutes les collines éminentes,
15et contre toutes les hautes tours, et contre toutes les fortes murailles,
16et contre tous les navires de Tarsis, et contre tout ce qui est d'un bel aspect.
17Et la fierté des hommes sera humiliée, et l'orgueil des personnages abaissé ; et l'Éternel en ce jour sera seul élevé ;
18et les idoles en entier disparaîtront.
19On s'enfoncera dans les cavernes des rochers et dans les grottes de la terre, devant les terreurs de l'Éternel et devant l'éclat de sa majesté, quand Il se lèvera pour terrifier la terre.
20En ce jour les hommes jetteront leurs idoles d'argent et leurs idoles d'or, qu'ils s'étaient faites pour les adorer, aux rats et aux chauves-souris,
21pour s'enfoncer dans les fentes des rochers et dans les gorges des montagnes, devant les terreurs de l'Éternel et devant l'éclat de sa majesté, quand Il se lèvera pour terrifier la terre.
22Cessez donc de compter sur l'homme, dans les narines duquel il n'y a qu'un souffle ; car quel cas faire de lui ?

1LO que vió Isaías, hijo de Amoz, tocante á Judá y á Jerusalem.
2Y acontecerá en lo postrero de los tiempos, que será confirmado el monte de la casa de Jehová por cabeza de los montes, y será ensalzado sobre los collados, y correrán á él todas las gentes.
3Y vendrán muchos pueblos, y dirán: Venid, y subamos al monte de Jehová, á la casa del Dios de Jacob; y nos enseñará en sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus sendas. Porque de Sión saldrá la ley, y de Jerusalem la palabra de Jehová.
4Y juzgará entre las gentes, y reprenderá á muchos pueblos; y volverán sus espadas en rejas de arado, y sus lanzas en hoces: no alzará espada gente contra gente, ni se ensayarán más para la guerra.
5Venid, oh casa de Jacob, y caminemos á la luz de Jehová.
6Ciertamente tú has dejado tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, porque son henchidos de oriente, y de agoreros, como los Filisteos; y en hijos ajenos descansan.
7Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, sus tesoros no tienen fin. También está su tierra llena de caballos; ni sus carros tienen número.
8Además está su tierra llena de ídolos, y á la obra de sus manos se han arrodillado, á lo que fabricaron sus dedos.
9Y hase inclinado el hombre, y el varón se ha humillado: por tanto no los perdonarás.
10Métete en la piedra, escóndete en el polvo, de la presencia espantosa de Jehová y del resplandor de su majestad.
11La altivez de los ojos del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y Jehová solo será ensalzado en aquel día.
12Porque día de Jehová de los ejércitos vendrá sobre todo soberbio y altivo, y sobre todo ensalzado; y será abatido:
13Y sobre todos los cedros del Líbano altos y sublimes, y sobre todos los alcornoques de Basán;
14Y sobre todos los montes altos, y sobre todos los collados levantados;
15Y sobre toda torre alta, y sobre todo muro fuerte;
16Y sobre todas las naves de Tarsis, y sobre todas pinturas preciadas.
17Y la altivez del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y solo Jehová será ensalzado en aquel día.
18Y quitará totalmente los ídolos.
19Y meteránse en las cavernas de las peñas, y en las aberturas de la tierra, por la presencia espantosa de Jehová, y por el resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantare él para herir la tierra.
20Aquel día arrojará el hombre, á los topos y murciélagos, sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que le hicieron para que adorase;
21Y se entrarán en las hendiduras de las rocas y en las cavernas de las peñas, por la presencia formidable de Jehová, y por el resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantare para herir la tierra.
22Dejaos del hombre, cuyo hálito está en su nariz; porque ¿de qué es él estimado?

1The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
6Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
7Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots:
8Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
9And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.
10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

1This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.
3Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law shall go out of Zion, and the LORD’s word from Jerusalem.
4He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5House of Jacob, come, and let’s walk in the light of the LORD.
6For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
7Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
8Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
9Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them.
10Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty.
11The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the arrogance of men will be bowed down, and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.
12For there will be a day of the LORD of Armies for all that is proud and arrogant, and for all that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low—

15for every lofty tower, for every fortified wall,

19Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
20In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats,
21to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
22Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
