1Ausspruch über Ägypten: Seht, der HERR fährt auf einer schnellen Wolke einher und kommt nach Ägypten! Da wanken die Götzen Ägyptens vor ihm, und den Ägyptern verzagt das Herz in ihrer Brust.
2»Da werde ich Ägypter gegen Ägypter aufreizen, so daß sie gegeneinander kämpfen, Bruder gegen Bruder, Freund gegen Freund, Stadt gegen Stadt und Reich gegen Reich.
3Da wird dann der Mut den Ägyptern in ihrer Brust ausgeleert werden, und ihre geistige Klarheit will ich trüben, daß sie sich um Rat an die Götzen und Zauberer, an die Totenbeschwörer und Wahrsagegeister wenden sollen.
4Und ich will Ägypten in die Hand eines harten Herrschers fallen lassen, und ein grausamer König soll über sie regieren« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes, des HERRN der Heerscharen.
5Und die Wasser werden versiegen im Nil, und der Strom wird austrocknen bis auf den Grund;
6die Kanäle werden dann Gestank verbreiten, die Nilarme in Ägypten flach und wasserlos werden, Rohr und Schilf verwelken.
7Die Auen am Nil, am Ufer des Nils, und alle Saatfelder am Nil werden verdorren, zu Staub zerstieben und verschwinden.
8Da werden dann die Fischer klagen, und es trauern alle, die im Nil die Angel auswerfen; und die da Netze auf dem Wasser ausbreiten, werden in Verzweiflung sein.
9Ratlos stehen alle da, welche gehechelten Flachs verarbeiten, und die Weber von baumwollenen Zeugen erbleichen.
10So werden denn die Säulen des Volkes zermalmt, und alle Lohnarbeiter sind tief bekümmert.
11Eitel Toren sind die Fürsten von Zoan, die weisesten Ratgeber des Pharaos ein verdummter Rat. Wie könnt ihr nur zum Pharao sagen: »Ich stamme von den Weisen ab, bin ein Nachkomme von den Königen der Vorzeit«?
12Wo sind sie denn nun, deine Weisen? Mögen sie dir doch verkünden und offenbaren, was der HERR der Heerscharen über Ägypten beschlossen hat!
13Als Narren stehen die Fürsten von Zoan da, getäuscht die Fürsten von Memphis; und irregeführt haben Ägypten die Vorsteher seiner Gaue.
14Der HERR hat ihnen einen Geist des Schwindels eingegeben, so daß sie Ägypten bei allen seinen Unternehmungen taumeln machen, gleichwie ein Trunkener umhertaumelt, wenn Erbrechen bei ihm eingetreten ist;
15und so wird es für Ägypten kein Werk mehr geben, das Kopf und Schwanz, Palmzweig und Binse auszuführen vermöchten.
16An jenem Tage werden die Ägypter wie Weiber sein und werden zittern und beben vor der Hand, die der HERR der Heerscharen gegen sie schwingt;
17und so wird das Land Juda für die Ägypter ein betäubender Schrecken sein: sooft man es vor ihnen erwähnt, werden sie in Angst geraten vor dem Ratschluß, den der HERR der Heerscharen in bezug auf sie gefaßt hat.
18An jenem Tage wird es fünf Städte im Lande Ägypten geben, welche die Sprache Kanaans reden und dem HERRN der Heerscharen Treue schwören; eine von ihnen wird Ir-Heres heißen. –
19An jenem Tage wird für den HERRN ein Altar mitten im Lande Ägypten und eine Denksäule nahe an dessen Grenze für den HERRN stehen;
20beides wird ein Denkzeichen und Zeugnis für den HERRN der Heerscharen im Lande Ägypten sein: wenn sie zum HERRN wegen der Bedränger schreien, wird er ihnen einen Helfer senden, der für sie streiten und sie erretten wird.
21So wird sich denn der HERR den Ägyptern zu erkennen geben, und die Ägypter werden an jenem Tage zur Erkenntnis des HERRN gelangen, so daß sie ihn mit Schlachtopfern und Speisopfern verehren und dem HERRN Gelübde darbringen und sie auch erfüllen.
22Wenn so der HERR den Ägyptern Wunden geschlagen, aber sie auch wieder geheilt hat, werden sie sich zum HERRN bekehren, und er wird sich von ihnen erbitten lassen und sie heilen.
23An jenem Tage wird eine gebahnte Straße von Ägypten nach Assyrien gehen, so daß die Assyrer Ägypten und die Ägypter Assyrien besuchen können, und die Ägypter werden dem HERRN im Verein mit den Assyrern dienen.
24An jenem Tage wird Israel als drittes Glied im Bunde mit Ägypten und Assyrien stehen als ein Segen inmitten der Erde,
25wozu der HERR der Heerscharen es gesegnet hat mit den Worten: »Gesegnet sei mein Volk Ägypten und Assyrien, das Werk meiner Hände, und Israel, mein Erbbesitz!«

1CARGA de Egipto. He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube, y entrará en Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto se moverán delante de él, y desleiráse el corazón de los Egipcios en medio de ellos.
2Y revolveré Egipcios contra Egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo: ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino.
3Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré su consejo; y preguntarán á sus imágenes, á sus mágicos, á sus pythones y á sus adivinos.
4Y entregaré á Egipto en manos de señor duro; y rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
5Y las aguas de la mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y secará.
6Y alejaránse los ríos, se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de los fosos: la caña y el carrizo serán cortados.
7Las verduras de junto al río, de junto á la ribera del río, y toda sementera del río, se secarán, se perderán, y no serán.
8Los pescadores también se entristecerán; y harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.
9Los que labran lino fino, y los que tejen redes, serán confundidos;
10Porque todas sus redes serán rotas: y se entristecerán todos los que hacen viveros para peces.
11Ciertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; el consejo de los prudentes consejeros de Faraón, se ha desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis á Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, é hijo de los reyes antiguos?
12¿Dónde están ahora aquellos tus prudentes? Dígante ahora, ó hágante saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.
13Hanse desvanecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Noph: engañaron á Egipto las esquinas de sus familias.
14Jehová mezcló espíritu de vahido en medio de él; é hicieron errar á Egipto en toda su obra, como desatina el borracho en su vómito.
15Y no aprovechará á Egipto cosa que haga la cabeza ó la cola, el ramo ó el junco.
16En aquel día serán los Egipcios como mujeres; porque se asombrarán y temerán, en la presencia de la mano alta de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él ha de levantar sobre ellos.
17Y la tierra de Judá será de espanto á Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acordare se asombrará, por causa del consejo que Jehová de los ejércitos acordó sobre aquél.
18En aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán, y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos: una será llamada la ciudad Herez.
19En aquel tiempo habrá altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y el trofeo de Jehová junto á su término.
20Y será por señal y por testimonio á Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto: porque á Jehová clamarán á causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará salvador y príncipe que los libre.
21Y Jehová será conocido de Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán á Jehová en aquel día; y harán sacrificio y oblación; y harán votos á Jehová, y los cumplirán.
22Y herirá Jehová á Egipto, herirá y sanará; y se convertirán á Jehová, y les será clemente, y los sanará.
23En aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto á Asiria, y Asirios entrarán en Egipto, y Egipcios en Asiria; y los Egipcios servirán con los Asirios á Jehová.
24En aquel tiempo, Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria; será bendición en medio de la tierra;
25Porque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá, diciendo: Bendito el pueblo mío Egipto, y el Asirio obra de mis manos, é Israel mi heredad.

1The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
2And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
4And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
5And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
6And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
7The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
9Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
10And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
11Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
12Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.
13The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
14The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
15Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
16In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
17And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.
18In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
20And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
21And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
22And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

1The burden of Egypt. “Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and comes to Egypt. The idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt will melt within it.
2I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
3The spirit of the Egyptians will fail within them. I will destroy their counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.
4I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
5The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and become dry.
6The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.
7The meadows by the Nile, by the brink of the Nile, and all the sown fields of the Nile, will become dry, be driven away, and be no more.
8The fishermen will lament, and all those who fish in the Nile will mourn, and those who spread nets on the waters will languish.
9Moreover those who work in combed flax, and those who weave white cloth, will be confounded.
10The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.
11The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish. The counsel of the wisest counselors of Pharaoh has become stupid. How do you say to Pharaoh, “I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings”?
12Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what the LORD of Armies has purposed concerning Egypt.
13The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, those who are the cornerstone of her tribes.
14The LORD has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the middle of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
15Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which head or tail, palm branch or rush, may do.
16In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the LORD of Armies’s hand, which he shakes over them.
17The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of the LORD of Armies, which he determines against it.
18In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of Armies. One will be called “The city of destruction.”
19In that day, there will be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.
20It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.
21The LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to the LORD, and will perform it.
22The LORD will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to the LORD, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.
23In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
24In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing within the earth;
25because the LORD of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
