1Und aus dem Stumpfe Isais wird ein Reis ausschlagen, und aus seiner Wurzel ein Zweig hervorbrechen.
2Der Geist Jahwes wird sich auf ihn niederlassen: Ein Geist der Weisheit und des Verstandes, ein Geist des Rats und der Kraft, ein Geist der Erkenntnis und der Furcht Jahwes.
3An der Furcht Jahwes wird er sein Wohlgefallen haben und wird nicht nach dem richten, was seine Augen sehen, noch nach dem urteilen, was seine Ohren hören,
4sondern über die Geringen mit Gerechtigkeit richten und über die Elenden des Landes in Geradheit urteilen und die Gewaltthätigen mit dem Stocke seines Mundes schlagen und mit dem Hauche seiner Lippen die Gottlosen töten.
5Und Gerechtigkeit wird der Gurt seiner Hüften sein, und die Treue der Gurt seiner Lenden.
6Und der Wolf wird neben dem Böcklein lagern, Kalb und junger Löwe werden zusammen weiden, und ein kleiner Knabe sie leiten.
7Kuh und Bärin werden weiden und ihre Jungen neben einander lagern, und der Löwe wird Stroh fressen wie die Rinder.
8Der Säugling wird an der Höhle der Otter spielen, und der Entwöhnte seine Hand auf das Auge der Natter legen.
9Sie werden keinen Schaden thun und kein Verderben anrichten in meinem ganzen heiligen Bergland; denn das Land wird von Erkenntnis Jahwes voll sein wie von Wassern, die das Meer bedecken.
10Und an jenem Tage wird der Wurzelsproß Isais, der als Panier für die Völker dasteht, von den Heiden aufgesucht werden und sein Wohnsitz herrlich sein.
11Und an jenem Tage wird der Herr wiederum, zum zweiten Male, seine Hand ausrecken, um den Rest seines Volkes loszukaufen, der von Assur und von Ägypten und von Pathros und von Kusch und von Elam und von Sinear und von Hamath und von den Inseln des Meeres übrig sein wird.
12Er wird ein Panier für die Völker aufstecken und die versprengten Israeliten sammeln und die zerstreuten Judäerinnen von den vier Säumen der Erde zusammenholen.
13Und der Neid gegen Ephraim wird verschwinden und die, welche Juda befehden, werden ausgerottet werden: Ephraim wird Juda nicht beneiden und Juda Ephraim nicht befehden.
14Vielmehr werden sie sich auf den Abhang der Philister im Westen stürzen, vereint werden sie die Ostländer plündern; über Edom und Moab werden sie ihre Hand ausstrecken, und die Ammoniter werden ihnen unterthan sein.
15Und Jahwe wird die ägyptische Meereszunge austrocknen und seine Hand mit starkem Sturme wider den Euphrat schwingen und ihn in sieben Bäche zerschlagen und sie in Schuhen hindurchschreiten lassen.
16So wird es eine Straße geben für den Rest seines Volks, der von Assur übrig sein wird, wie eine solche für Israel vorhanden war, als es aus Ägypten heraufzog.

1Y SALDRÁ una vara del tronco de Isaí, y un vástago retoñará de sus raíces.
2Y reposará sobre él el espíritu de Jehová; espíritu de sabiduría y de inteligencia, espíritu de consejo y de fortaleza, espíritu de conocimiento y de temor de Jehová.
3Y harále entender diligente en el temor de Jehová. No juzgará según la vista de sus ojos, ni argüirá por lo que oyeren sus oídos;
4Sino que juzgará con justicia á los pobres, y argüirá con equidad por los mansos de la tierra: y herirá la tierra con la vara de su boca, y con el espíritu de sus labios matará al impío.
5Y será la justicia cinto de sus lomos, y la fidelidad ceñidor de sus riñones.
6Morará el lobo con el cordero, y el tigre con el cabrito se acostará: el becerro y el león y la bestia doméstica andarán juntos, y un niño los pastoreará.
7La vaca y la osa pacerán, sus crías se echarán juntas; y el león como el buey comerá paja.
8Y el niño de teta se entretendrá sobre la cueva del áspid, y el recién destetado extenderá su mano sobre la caverna del basilisco.
9No harán mal ni dañarán en todo mi santo monte; porque la tierra será llena del conocimiento de Jehová, como cubren la mar las aguas.
10Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo que la raíz de Isaí, la cual estará puesta por pendón á los pueblos, será buscada de las gentes; y su holganza será gloria.
11Asimismo acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que Jehová tornará á poner otra vez su mano para poseer las reliquias de su pueblo que fueron dejadas de Assur, y de Egipto, y de Parthia, y de Etiopía, y de Persia, y de Caldea, y de Amath, y de las Islas de la mar.
12Y levantará pendón á las gentes, y juntará los desterrados de Israel, y reunirá los esparcidos de Judá de los cuatro cantones de la tierra.
13Y se disipará la envidia de Ephraim, y los enemigos de Judá serán talados. Ephraim no tendrá envidia contra Judá, ni Judá afligirá á Ephraim;
14Mas volarán sobre los hombros de los Filisteos al occidente, meterán también á saco á los de oriente: Edom y Moab les servirán, y los hijos de Ammón les darán obediencia.
15Y secará Jehová la lengua de la mar de Egipto; y levantará su mano con fortaleza de su espíritu sobre el río, y herirálo en sus siete brazos, y hará que pasen por él con zapatos.
16Y habrá camino para las reliquias de su pueblo, las que quedaron de Assur, de la manera que lo hubo para Israel el día que subió de la tierra de Egipto.

1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
15And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
16And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

1A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
2The LORD’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;
4but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
5Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist.
6The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.
7The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.
8The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.
11It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.
14They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.
15The LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.
16There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
