Escuchad la palabra de Yahvé, hijos de Israel, porque Yahvé tiene pleito con los habitantes de la tierra: “Porque no hay verdad, ni misericordia, ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the LORD’s word, you children of Israel, for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Perjurar, mentir, matar, hurtar y adulterar prevalecen; rompen todos los límites, y la sangre toca a la sangre.
Perjurar, y mentir, y matar, y hurtar y adulterar prevalecieron, y sangres se tocaron con sangres.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
Por lo cual la tierra estará de luto, y se extenuará todo morador de ella, con las bestias del campo y las aves del cielo; y aun los peces del mar morirán.

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
“Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; for your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.
Tropezarás, pues, de día, y el profeta tropezará también contigo de noche; y a tu madre destruiré.
Caerás por tanto en el día, y caerá también contigo el profeta de noche; y á tu madre talaré.
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.
Mi pueblo perece por falta de conocimiento. Porque has rechazado el conocimiento, yo te echaré del sacerdocio; y porque olvidaste la ley de tu Dios, también yo me olvidaré de tus hijos.
Mi pueblo fué talado, porque le faltó sabiduría. Porque tú desechaste la sabiduría, yo te echaré del sacerdocio: y pues que olvidaste la ley de tu Dios, también yo me olvidaré de tus hijos.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Cuanto más se multiplicaron, tanto más pecaron contra mí; cambiaré su gloria en afrenta.

Comerán, pero no se saciarán; fornicarán, pero no se multiplicarán; porque han dejado de servir a Yahvé.

For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.

Fornicación, vino y mosto quitan el juicio.

Mi pueblo consulta a su ídolo de madera, y un palo le responde; porque el espíritu de fornicación los hizo errar, y fornicaron apartándose de su Dios.

My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.

I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

Porque como novilla indómita se ha apartado Israel; ¿los apacentará ahora Yahvé como a corderos en lugar espacioso?
Porque como becerra cerrera se apartó Israel: ¿apacentarálos ahora Jehová como á carneros en anchura?
For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow?
Efraín está apegado a los ídolos. ¡Déjalo!
Ephraim es dado á ídolos; déjalo.

Su bebida se corrompió; fornicaron de continuo; sus príncipes amaron ardientemente la deshonra.

Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
