1KEHRE um, Israel, zu dem Herrn, deinem Gott! Denn du bist zu Fall gekommen durch deine Schuld.
2Nehmet Worte (der Reue) mit euch und kehret um zu dem Herrn! Sprechet zu ihm: "Alle Schuld wollest du vergeben, dass wir Gutes empfangen und die Frucht unsrer Lippen darbringen.
3Assur soll nicht unser Helfer sein. Auf Rossen wollen wir nicht reiten und nicht mehr,Gott' sagen zu dem Machwerk unsrer Hände; denn bei dir findet der Verwaiste Erbarmen." -
4"Ich will ihren Abfall heilen, in freier Gnade will ich sie lieben; denn mein Zorn hat sich von ihnen gewandt.
5Ich will für Israel sein wie der Tau, es soll blühen wie die Lilie und Wurzeln schlagen wie die Pappel.
6Seine Schosse sollen sich ausbreiten, seine Pracht soll sein wie die des Ölbaums und sein Duft wie der des Libanon. (a) Ps 52:10; Jer 11:16
7Sie werden zurückkehren und wohnen in meinem Schatten, werden sein wie ein Garten und blühen wie der Weinstock, dessen Ruhm ist wie der des Weines vom Libanon.
8Was sollen Ephraim fortan die Götzen? Ich allein habe ihn erhört und sehe nach ihm. Ich bin wie eine grünende Zypresse; von mir kommt deine Frucht."
9Wer ist weise, dass er dieses verstehe, und wer verständig, dass er es einsehe? Denn die Wege des Herrn sind gerade, und Gerechte wandeln darauf, Frevler aber kommen auf ihnen zu Fall. (a) Ps 25:10; Spr 10:29

1CONVIÉRTETE, oh Israel, á Jehová tu Dios: porque por tu pecado has caído.
2Tomad con vosotros palabras, y convertíos á Jehová, y decidle: Quita toda iniquidad, y acepta el bien, y daremos becerros de nuestros labios.
3No nos librará Assur; no subiremos sobre caballos, ni nunca más diremos á la obra de nuestras manos: Dioses nuestros: porque en ti el huérfano alcanzará misericordia.
4Yo medicinaré su rebelión, amarélos de voluntad: porque mi furor se apartó de ellos.
5Yo seré á Israel como rocío; él florecerá como lirio, y extenderá sus raíces como el Líbano.
6Extenderse han sus ramos, y será su gloria como la de la oliva, y olerá como el Líbano.
7Volverán, y se sentarán bajo de su sombra: serán vivificados como trigo, y florecerán como la vid: su olor, como de vino del Líbano.
8Ephraim dirá: ¿Qué más tendré ya con los ídolos? Yo lo oiré, y miraré; yo seré á él como la haya verde: de mí será hallado tu fruto.
9¿Quién es sabio para que entienda esto, y prudente para que lo sepa? Porque los caminos de Jehová son derechos, y los justos andarán por ellos: mas los rebeldes en ellos caerán.

1O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

1Israel, return to the LORD your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.
2Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, “Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good; so we offer bulls as we vowed of our lips.
3Assyria can’t save us. We won’t ride on horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’ for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”
4“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
5I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon.
6His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.
7Men will dwell in his shade. They will revive like the grain, and blossom like the vine. Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green cypress tree; from me your fruit is found.”
9Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
