1Samaria wird es bereuen, daß es widerspenstig gegen seinen Gott gewesen. Sie sinken hin durchs Schwert. Zerschmettert werden ihre Kinder, ihre Wöchnerinnen aufgeschlitzt.
2Bekehr dich, Israel, zum Herrn, zu deinem Gott! "Durch eigene Schuld kommst du zu Fall." -
3Nehmt mit euch Worte, kehrt zum Herrn zurück und sprecht zu ihm: "Vergib die Sünde ganz und gar! Nimm gnädig an, wenn wir einlösen unserer Lippen Rufe.
4Uns darf nie wieder Assur helfen. Wir wollen nimmermehr auf Rossen reiten und nicht mehr sagen 'Unser Gott' vom Machwerk unserer Hände. Wer Gnade bei Dir findet, der ist glücklich."
5"Ich will die Folgen ihres Abfalls heilen; ich liebe sie in unverdienter Weise. Von ihm kehrt sich mein Zorn.
6Ich bin wie Tau für Israel; wie eine Lilie wird es blühen und Wurzeln schlagen gleich der Pappel."
7Es breiten seine Sprossen weit sich hin, und eine Krone hat es wie der Ölbaum, und einen Duft gleich wie der Libanon.
8Und wieder ruhen sie in seinem Schatten. Getreide bauen sie und pflanzen wunderwieviel Reben, und deren Ruhm wird sein wie der des Weins vom Libanon.
9"Was gehn euch an die Götzen Ephraims? Ich habe es geschwächt und lasse es erstarken. Ich bin wie eine grüne Zeder. Von mir wird dir die Frucht verliehn." Wer klug, gibt darauf acht, und wer verständig, merkt darauf: "Gerade sind des Herren Wege, und die Gerechten wandeln drauf. Die Schlechten aber kommen drauf zu Fall."

1CONVIÉRTETE, oh Israel, á Jehová tu Dios: porque por tu pecado has caído.
2Tomad con vosotros palabras, y convertíos á Jehová, y decidle: Quita toda iniquidad, y acepta el bien, y daremos becerros de nuestros labios.
3No nos librará Assur; no subiremos sobre caballos, ni nunca más diremos á la obra de nuestras manos: Dioses nuestros: porque en ti el huérfano alcanzará misericordia.
4Yo medicinaré su rebelión, amarélos de voluntad: porque mi furor se apartó de ellos.
5Yo seré á Israel como rocío; él florecerá como lirio, y extenderá sus raíces como el Líbano.
6Extenderse han sus ramos, y será su gloria como la de la oliva, y olerá como el Líbano.
7Volverán, y se sentarán bajo de su sombra: serán vivificados como trigo, y florecerán como la vid: su olor, como de vino del Líbano.
8Ephraim dirá: ¿Qué más tendré ya con los ídolos? Yo lo oiré, y miraré; yo seré á él como la haya verde: de mí será hallado tu fruto.
9¿Quién es sabio para que entienda esto, y prudente para que lo sepa? Porque los caminos de Jehová son derechos, y los justos andarán por ellos: mas los rebeldes en ellos caerán.

1O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

1Israel, return to the LORD your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.
2Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, “Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good; so we offer bulls as we vowed of our lips.
3Assyria can’t save us. We won’t ride on horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’ for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”
4“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
5I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon.
6His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.
7Men will dwell in his shade. They will revive like the grain, and blossom like the vine. Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green cypress tree; from me your fruit is found.”
9Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
