1Samarie sera détruite, parce qu'elle s'est révoltée contre son Dieu. Ils périront par le glaive ; tous ses enfants à la mamelle seront écrasés à terre, et les femmes enceintes seront déchirées.
2Israël, reviens à ton Dieu ; car tes fils s'énervent, à cause de tes iniquités.
3Prenez avec vous de bonnes paroles, et convertissez-vous au Seigneur votre Dieu : dites-Lui que vous renoncez aux récompenses de l'iniquité pour choisir le bien ; dites-Lui : Nous T'offrons les fruits de nos lèvres !
4Assur ne nous sauvera pas ; nous ne monterons plus à cheval ; nous ne dirons plus aux œuvres de nos mains : Vous êtes nos dieux ; Celui qui est en vous, Seigneur, aura pitié de l'orphelin !
5Le Seigneur a dit : Je restaurerai leurs demeures, Je les aimerai manifestement, parce qu'ils ont détourné d'eux Ma colère.
6Je serai pour Israël comme la rosée ; il fleurira comme le lis, et il jettera ses racines comme le cèdre du Liban.
7Ses rameaux s'étendront ; il sera chargé de fruits comme un olivier, et il répandra ses parfum comme l'encens.
8Les peuples se convertiront et viendront s'asseoir sous son ombre ; ils vivront et se rassasieront de son pain ; et son mémorial fleurira comme une vigne, comme le vin du Liban
9en Éphraïm. Qu'y a-t-il encore de commun entre lui et les idoles ? Je l'ai humilié, et Je rétablirai ses forces. Je suis comme un genièvre touffu ; c'est de moi que viennent tes fruits.
10Qui est sage et comprendra ces choses ? Qui est savant et les connaîtra ? Les voies du Seigneur sont étroites ; les justes y marchent, les impies y trébucheront.

1CONVIÉRTETE, oh Israel, á Jehová tu Dios: porque por tu pecado has caído.
2Tomad con vosotros palabras, y convertíos á Jehová, y decidle: Quita toda iniquidad, y acepta el bien, y daremos becerros de nuestros labios.
3No nos librará Assur; no subiremos sobre caballos, ni nunca más diremos á la obra de nuestras manos: Dioses nuestros: porque en ti el huérfano alcanzará misericordia.
4Yo medicinaré su rebelión, amarélos de voluntad: porque mi furor se apartó de ellos.
5Yo seré á Israel como rocío; él florecerá como lirio, y extenderá sus raíces como el Líbano.
6Extenderse han sus ramos, y será su gloria como la de la oliva, y olerá como el Líbano.
7Volverán, y se sentarán bajo de su sombra: serán vivificados como trigo, y florecerán como la vid: su olor, como de vino del Líbano.
8Ephraim dirá: ¿Qué más tendré ya con los ídolos? Yo lo oiré, y miraré; yo seré á él como la haya verde: de mí será hallado tu fruto.
9¿Quién es sabio para que entienda esto, y prudente para que lo sepa? Porque los caminos de Jehová son derechos, y los justos andarán por ellos: mas los rebeldes en ellos caerán.

1O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

1Israel, return to the LORD your God; for you have fallen because of your sin.
2Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, “Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good; so we offer bulls as we vowed of our lips.
3Assyria can’t save us. We won’t ride on horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’ for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”
4“I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from them.
5I will be like the dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, and send down his roots like Lebanon.
6His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.
7Men will dwell in his shade. They will revive like the grain, and blossom like the vine. Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green cypress tree; from me your fruit is found.”
9Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.
