Oseas 11

Ephraim mi ha circonvenuto con rinnegarmi, e la casa d'Israele colle sue frodi; ma Giuda è venuto a rendere testimonianza a Dio, ed è fedele co' santi. Israele Invano spera nella protezione dell'Egitto. A lui, e a Giuda il Signore darà la mercede, che è dovuta alle opere loro; e con tutto ciò offerisce ad essi la pace: idoli di Galaad, e di Galgal.

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. Judah still strays from God, and is unfaithful to the Holy One.
