1Esse Melquisedeque era rei da cidade de Salém, e também um sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo. Quando Abraão estava regressando para casa depois de ter ganhado uma grande batalha contra muitos reis, Melquisedeque foi ao seu encontro e o abençoou.
