Imperocchè ogni pontefice preso di tra gli uomini è preposto a pro degli uomini a tutte quelle cose, che Dio riguardano, affinchè offerisca doni, e sagrificj pei peccati:
PORQUE todo pontífice, tomado de entre los hombres, es constituído á favor de los hombres en lo que á Dios toca, para que ofrezca presentes y sacrificios por los pecados:

Che possa aver compassione degli ignoranti, e degli erranti: come essendo egli stesso circondato di infermità:

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.
E per questo dee, come pel popolo, così anche per se stesso offerir sagrificio pei peccati:
Y por causa de ella debe, como por sí mismo, así también por el pueblo, ofrecer por los pecados.
And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.
Né alcuno tal onore da se si appropria, ma ehi è chiamato da Dio, come Aronne.
Ni nadie toma para sí la honra, sino el que es llamado de Dios, como Aarón.
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Così anche Cristo non si glorificò da se stesso per esser fatto pontefice: ma (glorificollo) colui, che dissegli: mio figliuolo se' tu, io oggi ti ho generato.
Así también Cristo no se glorificó á sí mismo haciéndose Pontífice, mas el que le dijo: Tú eres mi Hijo, yo te he engendrado hoy;
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

Sopra di che grandi cose abbiamo da dire, e difficili a spiegarsi: dappoiché siete diventati duri di orecchie.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.
Or chi è al latte, non è pratico del sermone della giustizia: perché egli è bambino.
Que cualquiera que participa de la leche, es inhábil para la palabra de la justicia, porque es niño;
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.
Ma il solido cibo è pei perfetti: Per coloro, i quali per consuetudine hanno i sensi esercitati a discernere il bene, ed il male. A chi vuol trattare de' primi principi della fede, dappoiché coloro, i quali dopo ricevuti il battesimo cadono di nuovo in peccati, non possono essere ribattezzati, ma debbono temere piuttosto l'eterna maledizione: consola gli Ebrei, egli ammonisce, che imitando la pazienza di Abramo, si rendan partecipi delle promesse fatte a lui da Dio, e giurate.
Mas la vianda firme es para los perfectos, para los que por la costumbre tienen los sentidos ejercitados en el discernimiento del bien y del mal.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
