Hebreos 12
Nova Bíblia Viva
1Visto que temos uma multidão de testemunhas ao nosso redor, afastemos de nós qualquer coisa que nos torne vagarosos ou nos atrase, e especialmente aqueles pecados que se enroscam tão fortemente em nossos pés e nos derrubam; e corramos com perseverança a corrida que Deus propôs para nós.
2Mantenham o olhar firme em Jesus, autor e consumador da nossa fé. Ele esteve pronto a padecer uma morte vergonhosa na cruz por causa da alegria que sabia que teria depois; e agora está assentado à direita do trono de Deus.
3Se vocês querem evitar se sentirem desanimados e cansados, pensem na resignação dele enquanto homens pecadores faziam essas coisas tão terríveis com ele.
4Afinal de contas, vocês ainda não lutaram contra o pecado a ponto de derramar o próprio sangue.
5E já esqueceram completamente as palavras animadoras que Deus falou a vocês, que são seus filhos? Ele disse: “Meu filho, não despreze a disciplina do Senhor. Não fique desanimado quando ele repreender você.
6Pois o Senhor corrige a quem ama, e açoita todo aquele que aceita como filho”.
7Permitam que Deus eduque vocês, pois ele está fazendo o que qualquer pai amoroso faz com seus filhos. Pois quem já ouviu falar de um filho que nunca foi corrigido pelo seu pai?
8Se Deus não os castiga quando é preciso, como outros pais castigam seus filhos, então isso significa que, na verdade, vocês não são filhos legítimos, mas sim ilegítimos.
9Visto que nós respeitamos os nossos pais aqui na terra, que nos corrigiam, não devemos com muito maior satisfação nos submeter à educação do Pai dos espíritos, a fim de que possamos realmente começar a viver?
10Nossos pais terrenos nos disciplinaram por pouco tempo, fazendo por nós o melhor que eles sabiam fazer, porém a correção de Deus é sempre boa e para o nosso bem, a fim de podermos participar da sua santidade.
11Não é nada agradável ser corrigido; na hora em que está acontecendo, ela causa tristeza. Mas depois podemos ver que produz fruto de justiça e paz, para aqueles que pela correção foram exercitados.
12Portanto, tomem um novo vigor para as suas mãos cansadas, e firmem-se em seus joelhos trêmulos,
13e tracem um caminho reto e plano para os pés para que aqueles que seguem vocês, embora fracos e mancos, não caiam nem se desviem, mas tornem-se fortes.
14Procurem viver em paz com todos e busquem levar uma vida pura e santa, porque aquele que não é santo não verá o Senhor.
15Cuidem uns dos outros, para que nenhum de vocês deixe de alcançar a graça de Deus. Vigiem para que nenhuma amargura crie raiz entre vocês, pois, quando ela brota, causa profunda perturbação, contaminando muitos na sua vida espiritual.
16Vigiem para que ninguém se deixe arrastar por pecado sexual ou se torne negligente para com Deus, tal como fez Esaú, que, por uma simples refeição, vendeu seus direitos de herança como filho mais velho.
17E mais tarde, quando novamente ele quis aqueles direitos de volta, era tarde demais, embora tivesse chorado lágrimas amargas. Portanto, lembrem-se disso e tenham cuidado.
18Vocês não tiveram de ficar face a face com o terror, o fogo ardente, a escuridão, as trevas e uma terrível tempestade, como os israelitas no monte, quando Deus lhes deu as suas leis.
19Pois houve um toque de trombeta e uma voz com uma mensagem tão terrível que o povo rogou a Deus que parasse de falar.
20Eles recuaram atordoados diante da ordem de Deus, de que até mesmo um animal que tocasse na montanha devia ser apedrejado.
21O próprio Moisés estava tão amedrontado com aquela visão que tremia de medo.
22Vocês, contudo, chegaram até o monte Sião, à cidade do Deus vivente, à Jerusalém celestial; à reunião de milhares de milhares de anjos jubilosos;
23e à igreja dos filhos mais velhos, composta de todos cujos nomes estão escritos nos céus; e a Deus, que é o Juiz de todos; e aos espíritos dos redimidos no céu, que já se tornaram perfeitos;
24e ao próprio Jesus, que nos trouxe uma nova aliança, e ao sangue salpicado, que perdoa gratuitamente, em vez de clamar por vingança, como fez o sangue de Abel.
25Portanto, tenham cuidado e procurem obedecer àquele que está falando a vocês. Porque se o povo de Israel não escapou quando se recusou a ouvir Moisés, que era um mensageiro terreno, como nós escaparemos se rejeitarmos ouvir aquele que nos fala dos céus?
26Quando ele falou do monte Sinai, sua voz fez a terra tremer: porém, “da próxima vez”, diz ele, “farei tremer não só a terra, mas também os céus”.
27As palavras “da próxima vez” indicam que ele removerá tudo quanto não tem alicerces sólidos, de modo que apenas as coisas inabaláveis serão deixadas.
28Visto que nós temos um reino que nada pode destruir, sejamos agradecidos, servindo a Deus com corações gratos, e com santo temor e reverência.
29Porque nosso Deus é fogo consumidor.

1POR tanto nosotros también, teniendo en derredor nuestro una tan grande nube de testigos, dejando todo el peso del pecado que nos rodea, corramos con paciencia la carrera que nos es propuesta,
2Puestos los ojos en al autor y consumador de la fe, en Jesús; el cual, habiéndole sido propuesto gozo, sufrió la cruz, menospreciando la vergüenza, y sentóse á la diestra del trono de Dios.
3Reducid pues á vuestro pensamiento á aquel que sufrió tal contradicción de pecadores contra sí mismo, porque no os fatiguéis en vuestros ánimos desmayando.
4Que aun no habéis resistido hasta la sangre, combatiendo contra el pecado:
5Y estáis ya olvidados de la exhortación que como con hijos habla con vosotros, diciendo: Hijo mío, no menosprecies el castigo del Señor, ni desmayes cuando eres de él reprendido.
6Porque el Señor al que ama castiga, y azota á cualquiera que recibe por hijo.
7Si sufrís el castigo, Dios se os presenta como á hijos; porque ¿qué hijo es aquel á quien el padre no castiga?
8Mas si estáis fuera del castigo, del cual todos han sido hechos participantes, luego sois bastardos, y no hijos.
9Por otra parte, tuvimos por castigadores á los padres de nuestra carne, y los reverenciábamos, ¿por qué no obedeceremos mucho mejor al Padre de los espíritus, y viviremos?
10Y aquéllos, á la verdad, por pocos días nos castigaban como á ellos les parecía, mas éste para lo que nos es provechoso, para que recibamos su santificación.
11Es verdad que ningún castigo al presente parece ser causa de gozo, sino de tristeza; mas después da fruto apacible de justicia á los que en él son ejercitados.
12Por lo cual alzad las manos caídas y las rodillas paralizadas;
13Y haced derechos pasos á vuestros pies, porque lo que es cojo no salga fuera de camino, antes sea sanado.
14Seguid la paz con todos, y la santidad, sin la cual nadie verá al Señor:
15Mirando bien que ninguno se aparte de la gracia de Dios, que ninguna raíz de amargura brotando os impida, y por ella muchos sean contaminados;
16Que ninguno sea fornicario, ó profano, como Esaú, que por una vianda vendió su primogenitura.
17Porque ya sabéis que aun después, deseando heredar la bendición, fué reprobado (que no halló lugar de arrepentimiento), aunque la procuró con lágrimas.
18Porque no os habéis llegado al monte que se podía tocar, y al fuego encendido, y al turbión, y á la oscuridad, y á la tempestad,
19Y al sonido de la trompeta, y á la voz de las palabras, la cual los que la oyeron rogaron que no se les hablase más;
20Porque no podían tolerar lo que se mandaba: Si bestia tocare al monte, será apedreada, ó pasada con dardo.
21Y tan terrible cosa era lo que se veía, que Moisés dijo: Estoy asombrado y temblando.
22Mas os habéis llegado al monte de Sión, y á la ciudad del Dios vivo, Jerusalem la celestial, y á la compañía de muchos millares de ángeles,
23Y á la congregación de los primogénitos que están alistados en los cielos, y á Dios el Juez de todos, y á los espíritus de los justos hechos perfectos,
24Y á Jesús el Mediador del nuevo testamento, y á la sangre del esparcimiento que habla mejor que la de Abel.
25Mirad que no desechéis al que habla. Porque si aquellos no escaparon que desecharon al que hablaba en la tierra, mucho menos nosotros, si desecháramos al que habla de los cielos.
26La voz del cual entonces conmovió la tierra; mas ahora ha denunciado, diciendo: Aun una vez, y yo conmoveré no solamente la tierra, mas aun el cielo.
27Y esta palabra, Aun una vez, declara la mudanza de las cosas movibles, como de cosas hechas, para que queden las cosas que son firmes.
28Así que, tomando el reino inmóvil, retengamos la gracia por la cual sirvamos á Dios agradándole con temor y reverencia;
29Porque nuestro Dios es fuego consumidor.

1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
18For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
19And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
20(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
21And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
25See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
26Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29For our God is a consuming fire.

1Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us,
2looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.
4You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin.
5You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, “My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;
6for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?
8But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children.
9Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
10For they indeed for a few days disciplined us as seemed good to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.
11All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
12Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees,
13and make straight paths for your feet, so what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
14Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,
15looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you and many be defiled by it,
16lest there be any sexually immoral person or profane person, like Esau, who sold his birthright for one meal.
17For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for a change of mind though he sought it diligently with tears.
18For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,
19the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them,
20for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”.
21So fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.”
22But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,
23to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.
25See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,
26whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.”
27This phrase, “Yet once more” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.
28Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
29for our God is a consuming fire.
