LA carga que vió Habacuc profeta.

The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

The revelation which Habakkuk the prophet saw.

Fino a quando, o Signore, griderò io, e tu non mi esaudirai? I getterò alte strida per le violenze, ch'io patisco, e tu non darai salute?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, clamaré, y no oirás; y daré voces á ti á causa de la violencia, y no salvarás?

O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

LORD, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?

Perchè mi fai tu vedere dinanzi a me iniquità, e dolori, rapine, e ingiustizie? E i contenziosi, e rissosi prevalgono.

¿Por qué me haces ver iniquidad, y haces que mire molestia, y saco y violencia delante de mí, habiendo además quien levante pleito y contienda?

Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

Per questo è straziata la legge, e non arriva al suo fine il giudizio; perocché l'empio ne può più, che il giusto; per questo i giudizj sono corrotti.

Por lo cual la ley es debilitada, y el juicio no sale verdadero: por cuanto el impío asedia al justo, por eso sale torcido el juicio.

Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.

Gettate gli occhi sopra le genti, e osservate: resterete ammirati, e stupefatti; perocché è avvenuta una cosa a' vostri giorni, la quale da nissuno sarà creduta, quando si annunzierà;

Mirad en las gentes, y ved, y maravillaos pasmosamente; porque obra será hecha en vuestros días, que aun cuando se os contare, no la creeréis.

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe though it is told you.

Perocché ecco che io farò muoversi i Caldei, gente cruda, e agile, che scorre tutta quanta la terra, per occupare le case altrui.

Porque he aquí, yo levanto los Caldeos, gente amarga y presurosa, que camina por la anchura de la tierra para poseer las habitaciones ajenas.

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation who march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

Ella è orribile, e tremenda: ella da se stessa semenziera, e gastigherà.

Espantosa es y terrible: de ella misma saldrá su derecho y su grandeza.

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

I suoi cavalli son più leggeri dei pardi, e più veloci, che i lupi sul far della notte; e i suoi cavalli si spanderanno per ogni parte; i suoi cavalieri verranno da lungi, voleranno com' aquila a far suo pasto.

Y serán sus caballos más ligeros que tigres, y más agudos que lobos de tarde; y sus jinetes se multiplicarán: vendrán de lejos sus caballeros, y volarán como águilas que se apresuran á la comida.

Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.

Verranno tutti al bottino: la loro presenza è un vento, che arde: e metteranno insieme gli schiavi come l'arena.

Toda ella vendrá á la presa: delante de sus caras viento solano; y juntará cautivos como arena.

They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

All of them come for violence. Their hordes face forward. They gather prisoners like sand.

E quegli trionferà dei regi, e si farà beffe de' potentati: egli si burlerà di tutte le fortezze, e alzerà la trinciera, e le espugnerà.

Y escarnecerá de los reyes, y de los príncipes hará burla: reiráse de toda fortaleza, y amontonará polvo, y la tomará.

And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

Yes, they scoff at kings, and princes are a derision to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they build up an earthen ramp and take it.

Allora si cangerà il suo spirito, e svanirà, e caderà: tale è la possanza di quel suo Dio.

Luego mudará espíritu, y pasará adelante, y ofenderá atribuyendo esta su potencia á su dios.

Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

Then they sweep by like the wind and go on. They are indeed guilty, whose strength is their god.”

Ma non se' tu fin da principio, o Signore Dio mio, mio Santo, e noi non morremo? Signore tu hai destinato costui a far vendetta, e per correzione nostra lo hai fondato in possanza.

¿No eres tú desde el principio, oh Jehová, Dios mío, Santo mío? No moriremos. Oh Jehová, para juicio lo pusiste; y tú, oh Roca, lo fundaste para castigar.

Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Aren’t you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed them for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

Gli occhi tuoi son mondi, né tu puoi vedere il male, e tu non potrai mirare in faccia l'iniquità. Perchè volgi tu lo sguardo a que', che fanno del male, e taci allorché l'empio divorasi chi è più giusto di lui?

Muy limpio eres de ojos para ver el mal, ni puedes ver el agravio: ¿por qué ves los menospreciadores, y callas cuando destruye el impío al más justo que él,

Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

E tu fai degli uomini, come de' pesci del mare, e come degli insetti, che non hanno re.

Y haces que sean los hombres como los peces de la mar, como reptiles que no tienen señor?

And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things that have no ruler over them?

Quegli ogni cosa ha tratto fuora coll'amo, tira colla sua sagena, e ammassa colla sua rete. Di questo egli si goderà, ed esulterà:

Sacará á todos con anzuelo, cogerálos con su red, y juntarálos en su aljerife: por lo cual se holgará y hará alegrías.

They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.

Per questo offerirà vittime alla sua sagena, e sagrifizj alla sua rete, perchè per mezzo di queste si è accresciuta la sua porzione, e il suo cibo gradito.

Por esto hará sacrificios á su red, y ofrecerá sahumerios á su aljerife: porque con ellos engordó su porción, y engrasó su comida.

Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious and his food is good.

Per questo stende la sua sagena, e non si resta giammai dal fare strage de' popoli. Mentre il Profeta aspetta risposta da Dio, gli è comandato di scrivere la visione, e di aspettarne l'evento in pazienza. Babilonia distrutta per le molte sue scelleratezze. I suoi idoli non saranno buoni a difenderla.

¿Vaciará por eso su red, ó tendrá piedad de matar gentes continuamente?

Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

Will he therefore continually empty his net, and kill the nations without mercy?
