A lo que dijo el faraón: Anda enhorabuena y sepulta a tu padre como se lo prometiste con juramento.

Así diréis á José: Ruégote que perdones ahora la maldad de tus hermanos y su pecado, porque mal te trataron: por tanto ahora te rogamos que perdones la maldad de los siervos del Dios de tu padre. Y José lloró mientras hablaban.
So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

No temáis, pues; yo os mantendré a vosotros y a vuestros hijos. Y los consoló y habló con expresiones blandas y amorosas.

Pasadas todas estas cosas, habló José a sus hermanos en estos términos: Después de mi muerte os visitará Dios, y os sacará de esta tierra para la tierra que tiene prometida con juramento a Abrahán, a Isaac y a Jacob .
