17"So sollt ihr zu Joseph sagen: Ach, vergib doch deinen Brüdern ihre Missetat und Sünde, dass sie so übel an dir gehandelt haben." So vergib uns nun unsre Missetat, da wir (doch auch) dem Gotte deines Vaters dienen. Joseph aber weinte, als sie ihm das sagen liessen.

17So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

17‘You shall tell Joseph, “Now please forgive the disobedience of your brothers, and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ Now, please forgive the disobedience of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
