1So brach Israel mit all seiner Habe auf und kam nach Beerseba. Da brachte er dem Gott seines Vaters Isaak Opfer dar.
2Und Gott sprach zu Israel in einem Nachtgesichte. Er sprach: "Jakob! Jakob!" Er sprach: "Hier bin ich."
3Er sprach: "Ich bin Gott, der Schutzgott deines Vaters. Fürchte dich nicht; nach Ägypten zu ziehen! Denn dort mache ich dich zu einem großen Volke.
4Ich selber ziehe mit dir nach Ägypten und ich selber führe dich wieder herauf. Und Joseph wird dir die Hand auf die Augen legen."
5Da brach Jakob von Beerseba auf, und Israels Söhne hoben ihren Vater Jakob, ihre Kinder und Weiber auf die Wagen, die Pharao gesandt hatte, ihn zu holen.
6Und sie nahmen ihre Herden mit und ihre Fahrnis, die sie im Lande Kanaan erworben hatten. So kam Jakob mit seiner ganzen Nachkommenschaft nach Ägypten.
7Bei ihm waren seine Söhne und Enkel, ferner seine Töchter und Enkelinnen, brachte er doch seine ganze Nachkommenschaft mit sich nach Ägypten.
8Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Israels, die nach Ägypten kamen, Jakobs und seiner Söhne: Jakobs Erstgeborener Ruben.
9Rubens Söhne sind Chanok, Pallu, Chesron und Karmi.
10Simeons Söhne sind Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin und Sochar sowie der Kanaaniterin Sohn, Saul.
11Levis Söhne sind Gerson, Kehat und Merari,
12Judas Söhne sind Ger, Onan, Sela, Peres und Zerach; Ger und Onan aber starben schon im Lande Kanaan, und des Peres Söhne sind Chesron und Chamul.
13Issakars Söhne sind Tola, Pua, Job und Simron.
14Zabulons Söhne sind Sered, Elon und Jachleel.
15Dies sind die Söhne der Lea, die sie Jakob zu Paddan Aram gebar, sowie seine Tochter Dina; alles zusammen 33 Söhne und Töchter.
16Gads Söhne sind Siphjon, Chaggi, Suni, Esbon, Eri, Arodi und Areli.
17Assers Söhne sind Jimna, Jisma, Jiswi, Beria sowie ihre Schwester Serach; Berias Söhne sind Cheber und Malkiel.
18Dies sind die Söhne Zilpas, die Laban seiner Tochter Lea mitgegeben; sie hatte diese dem Jakob geboren, sechzehn Seelen.
19Die Söhne Rachels, des Weibes Jakobs, sind Joseph und Benjamin.
20Dem Joseph aber wurden im Land Ägypten Kinder geboren, die ihm Asenat, die Tochter Potipheras, des Priesters von On, gebar: Manasse und Ephraim.
21Benjamins Söhne sind Bela, Beker, Asbel, Gera, Naaman, Echi, Nos, Muppim, Chuppim und Ard.
22Dies sind Rachels Söhne, die dem Jakob geboren worden, zusammen vierzehn Seelen.
23Dans Sohn ist Chusim.
24Naphtalis Söhne sind Jachseel, Guni, Jeser und Sillem.
25Dies sind die Söhne Bilhas, die Laban seiner Tochter Rachel mitgegeben; sie hatte diese dem Jakob geboren, zusammen sieben Seelen.
26Aller Seelen, die mit Jakob nach Ägypten kamen, seine leiblichen Nachkommen, ohne die Weiber der Jakobssöhne, waren es sechsundsechzig.
27Und der Söhne Josephs, die ihm in Ägypten geboren wurden, waren es zwei. Aller Seelen des Jakobshauses, die nach Ägypten kamen, waren es siebzig.
28Nun sandte er Juda zu Joseph voraus, daß er vor ihm Gosen benachrichtige. Und sie kamen ins Land Gosen.
29Da ließ Joseph seinen Wagen einspannen und fuhr hinauf nach Gosen, seinem Vater Israel entgegen. Als er vor ihm erschien, fiel er ihm um den Hals und weinte noch lange an seinem Hals.
30Dann sprach Israel zu Joseph: "Jetzt sterbe ich gern, nachdem ich dein Antlitz gesehen und weiß, daß du lebst."
31Joseph aber sprach zu seinen Brüdern und zu den anderen Hausgenossen seines Vaters: "Ich will vorauf, es Pharao melden und ihm sagen: 'Meine Brüder sowie meines Vaters Hausgenossen, die im Lande Kanaan waren, sind zu mir gekommen.
32Schafhirten aber sind diese Männer; denn Viehzüchter waren sie von je. Sie haben ihre Schafe, Rinder und alle ihre Habe mitgebracht.'
33Wenn euch nun Pharao rufen läßt und spricht: 'Was ist euer Gewerbe?',
34dann sagt: 'Von Jugend auf bis heute sind deine Sklaven Viehzüchter gewesen, wir wie auch unsere Väter', damit ihr im Lande Gosen bleiben dürft; denn jeder Schafhirte ist den Ägyptern ein Greuel."

1Y PARTIÓSE Israel con todo lo que tenía, y vino á Beer-seba, y ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.
2Y habló Dios á Israel en visiones de noche, y dijo: Jacob, Jacob. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.
3Y dijo: Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre; no temas de descender á Egipto, porque yo te pondré allí en gran gente.
4Yo descenderé contigo á Egipto, y yo también te haré volver: y José pondrá su mano sobre tus ojos.

10Y los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, y Jamín, y Ohad, y Jachîn, y Zohar, y Saúl, hijo de la Cananea.

31Y José dijo á sus hermanos, y á la casa de su padre: Subiré y haré saber á Faraón, y diréle: Mis hermanos y la casa de mi padre, que estaban en la tierra de Canaán, han venido á mí;
32Y los hombres son pastores de ovejas, porque son hombres ganaderos: y han traído sus ovejas y sus vacas, y todo lo que tenían.
33Y cuando Faraón os llamare y dijere: ¿cuál es vuestro oficio?
34Entonces diréis: Hombres de ganadería han sido tus siervos desde nuestra mocedad hasta ahora, nosotros y nuestros padres; á fin que moréis en la tierra de Gosén, porque los Egipcios abominan todo pastor de ovejas.

1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
14And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

27And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
34That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

1Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.
2God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “Here I am.”
3He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.
4I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph’s hand will close your eyes.”
5Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt—Jacob, and all his offspring with him,
7his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and he brought all his offspring with him into Egypt.
8These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

29Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30Israel said to Joseph, “Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”
31Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father’s house, “I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, ‘My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.
32These men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.’
33It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, ‘What is your occupation?’
34that you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
