O mordomo os alcançou e repetiu-lhes essas palavras.

And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words.

And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing:

Vê, o dinheiro que achamos na boca de nossas bagagens, trouxemos de volta para ti da terra de Canaã. Como, então, poderíamos roubar da casa do vosso mestre ouro ou prata?
He aquí, el dinero que hallamos en la boca de nuestros costales, te lo volvimos á traer desde la tierra de Canaán; ¿cómo, pues, habíamos de hurtar de casa de tu señor plata ni oro?
Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord’s house silver or gold?

"Aquele dentre vossos servos com quem a taça for encontrada, morra, e nós também seremos escravos do meu senhor".

With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord’s bondmen.

O mordomo disse: "Ora, seja conforme as vossas palavras. Aquele com quem a taça for encontrada será meu escravo, e vós outros sereis inocentes".
Y él dijo: También ahora sea conforme á vuestras palabras; aquél en quien se hallare, será mi siervo, y vosotros seréis sin culpa.
And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless.
He said, “Now also let it be according to your words. He with whom it is found will be my slave; and you will be blameless.”
Então, cada homem apressou-se e colocou o seu saco no chão, e cada um abriu seu saco.

O mordomo buscou, começando pelo mais velho e terminou pelo mais novo, e a taça foi achada no saco de Benjamim.

And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.

José perguntou-lhes: "O que vós fizestes? Não sabeis que um homem como eu pode adivinhar?"

And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?
Joseph said to them, “What deed is this that you have done? Don’t you know that such a man as I can indeed do divination?”
Judá disse: "Que diremos ao meu senhor? Que falaremos? Ou como nos justificaremos? Deus descobriu a iniquidade de teus servos. Vê, seremos escravos de meu senhor, tanto nós como aquele na mão de quem a taça foi achada".
Entonces dijo Judá: ¿Qué diremos á mi señor? ¿qué hablaremos? ¿ó con qué nos justificaremos? Dios ha hallado la maldad de tus siervos: he aquí, nosotros somos siervos de mi señor, nosotros, y también aquél en cuyo poder fué hallada la copa.
And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.
Judah said, “What will we tell my lord? What will we speak? How will we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants. Behold, we are my lord’s slaves, both we and he also in whose hand the cup is found.”
José disse: "Longe de mim fazer isto. O homem na mão de quem foi achada a taça, este será meu escravo, mas, quanto a vós outros, subi em paz ao vosso pai".
Y él respondió: Nunca yo tal haga: el varón en cuyo poder fué hallada la copa, él será mi siervo; vosotros id en paz á vuestro padre.
And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.
He said, “Far be it from me that I should do so. The man in whose hand the cup is found, he will be my slave; but as for you, go up in peace to your father.”
Então, Judá aproximou-se dele e disse: "Meu senhor, por favor deixe teu servo falar uma palavra aos ouvidos do meu senhor, e que a tua ira não se acenda contra teu servo, porque tu és como Faraó".
Entonces Judá se llegó á él, y dijo: Ay señor mío, ruégote que hable tu siervo una palabra en oídos de mi señor, y no se encienda tu enojo contra tu siervo, pues que tú eres como Faraón.
Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord’s ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh.
Then Judah came near to him, and said, “Oh, my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord’s ears, and don’t let your anger burn against your servant; for you are even as Pharaoh.
Meu senhor perguntou a seus servos, dizendo: 'Tendes pai ou irmão?';
Mi señor preguntó á sus siervos, diciendo: ¿Tenéis padre ó hermano?
My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother?

E respondemos a meu senhor: 'Temos um pai, um velho homem, e um filho de sua velhice, um pequenino. Porém, seu irmão está morto, e ele é o único que restou de sua mãe, e seu pai o ama'.
Y nosotros respondimos á mi señor: Tenemos un padre anciano, y un mozo que le nació en su vejez, pequeño aún; y un hermano suyo murió, y él quedó solo de su madre, y su padre lo ama.
And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him.

And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.
We said to my lord, ‘The boy can’t leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’
Então, tu respondeste a teus servos: 'A menos que vosso irmão mais novo desça convosco, nunca mais vereis de novo a minha face'.
Y dijiste á tus siervos: Si vuestro hermano menor no descendiere con vosotros, no veáis más mi rostro.
And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.
You said to your servants, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you will see my face no more.’
E sucedeu que, quando nós subimos para teu servo, meu pai, falamos a ele tuas palavras.
Aconteció pues, que como llegamos á mi padre tu siervo, contámosle las palabras de mi señor.
And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
When we came up to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
Nosso pai disse: 'Ide novamente e comprai algum alimento'.
Y dijo nuestro padre: Volved á comprarnos un poco de alimento.
And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

Então, dissemos: 'Não podemos descer. Se nosso irmão mais novo estiver conosco, então, desceremos, pois não teremos permissão de ver a face do homem a menos que nosso irmão mais novo esteja conosco'.

And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man’s face, except our youngest brother be with us.

Teu servo, meu pai, disse-nos: 'Vós sabeis que minha mulher me deu dois filhos.

And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons:

Um saiu de perto de mim, e eu disse: "Certamente ele foi despedaçado, e nunca mais o vi".
Y el uno salió de conmigo, y pienso de cierto que fué despedazado, y hasta ahora no le he visto;
And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:

Ora, se também tirardes este de mim, e algum desastre lhe acontecer, fareis os meus cabelos brancos descerem com tristeza ao Sheol'.
Y si tomareis también éste de delante de mí, y le aconteciere algún desastre, haréis descender mis canas con dolor á la sepultura.
And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
If you take this one also from me, and harm happens to him, you will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.’
Ora, portanto, quando eu voltar para o teu servo, meu pai, e o jovem não estiver conosco, visto que sua alma está ligada à alma do garoto,
Ahora, pues, cuando llegare yo á tu siervo mi padre, y el mozo no fuere conmigo, como su alma está ligada al alma de él,
Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s life;
Now therefore when I come to your servant my father, and the boy is not with us; since his life is bound up in the boy’s life;
acontecerá que, quando ele vir que o garoto não está conosco, ele morrerá. Teus servos faremos com que os cabelos brancos do teu servo, nosso pai, desçam com tristeza ao Sheol.
Sucederá que cuando no vea al mozo, morirá: y tus siervos harán descender las canas de tu siervo nuestro padre con dolor á la sepultura.
It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.
it will happen, when he sees that the boy is no more, that he will die. Your servants will bring down the gray hairs of your servant, our father, with sorrow to Sheol.
Pois o teu servo se fez de garantia pelo garoto para o meu pai, dizendo: 'Se eu não o trouxer a ti, então, levarei a culpa diante do meu pai para sempre'.
Como tu siervo salió por fiador del mozo con mi padre, diciendo: Si no te lo volviere, entonces yo seré culpable para mi padre todos los días;
For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.
For your servant became collateral for the boy to my father, saying, ‘If I don’t bring him to you, then I will bear the blame to my father forever.’
Ora, portanto, por favor, permite que teu servo fique no lugar do garoto como escravo para meu senhor, e deixa o garoto subir com seus irmãos.
Ruégote por tanto que quede ahora tu siervo por el mozo por siervo de mi señor, y que el mozo vaya con sus hermanos.
Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.
Now therefore, please let your servant stay instead of the boy, my lord’s slave; and let the boy go up with his brothers.
Pois, como eu posso subir para meu pai se o garoto não estiver comigo? Tenho medo de ver o mal que sobreviria ao meu pai.
Porque ¿cómo iré yo á mi padre sin el mozo? No podré, por no ver el mal que sobrevendrá á mi padre.
For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
For how will I go up to my father, if the boy isn’t with me?—lest I see the evil that will come on my father.”
