Y aconteció que como acabaron de comer el trigo que trajeron de Egipto, díjoles su padre: Volved, y comprad para nosotros un poco de alimento.
And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

Israel disse: "Por que me fizeste este mal, dizendo ao homem que tínheis outro irmão?".
Y dijo Israel: ¿Por qué me hicisteis tanto mal, declarando al varón que teníais más hermano?
And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
Israel said, “Why did you treat me so badly, telling the man that you had another brother?”
Eles responderam: "O homem perguntou detalhes sobre nós e nossa família. Ele disse: 'O vosso pai ainda vive? Tendes outro irmão?'. Respondemos conforme essas perguntas. Como podíamos saber que ele diria: 'Trazei o vosso irmão?'".
Y ellos respondieron: Aquel varón nos preguntó expresamente por nosotros, y por nuestra parentela, diciendo: ¿Vive aún vuestro padre? ¿tenéis otro hermano? y declarámosle conforme á estas palabras. ¿Podíamos nosotros saber que había de decir: Haced venir á vuestro hermano?
And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
They said, “The man asked directly concerning ourselves, and concerning our relatives, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?’ We just answered his questions. Is there any way we could know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
Judá disse para Israel, seu pai: "Envia o rapaz comigo. Nós nos levantaremos e iremos para que vivamos e não morramos, tanto nós, como tu, e também os vossos filhos.
Entonces Judá dijo á Israel su padre: Envía al mozo conmigo, y nos levantaremos é iremos, á fin que vivamos y no muramos nosotros, y tú, y nuestros niños.
And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones.

Eu serei a garantia por ele e tu me terás por responsável. Se eu não o trouxer de volta e o apresentar perante ti, então, serei culpado para sempre.
Yo lo fío; á mí me pedirás cuenta de él: si yo no te lo volviere y lo pusiere delante de ti, seré para ti el culpante todos los días:
I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:
I’ll be collateral for him. From my hand will you require him. If I don’t bring him to you, and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever;
Pois, se não tivéssemos demorado, certamente já teríamos voltado aqui pela segunda vez".
Que si no nos hubiéramos detenido, cierto ahora hubiéramos ya vuelto dos veces.
For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

Seu pai, Israel, disse-lhes: "Se tem que ser assim, fazei isto. Peguem alguns dos melhores produtos da terra e coloquem em vossas bagagens. Levem para o homem um presente: um pouco de bálsamo e de mel, essências aromáticas e mirra, nozes de pistache e amêndoas.
Entonces Israel su padre les respondió: Pues que así es, hacedlo; tomad de lo mejor de la tierra en vuestros vasos, y llevad á aquel varón un presente, un poco de bálsamo, y un poco de miel, aromas y mirra, nueces y almendras.
And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

Levai em vossas mãos dinheiro em dobro. Levai de volta o dinheiro que foi devolvido na abertura de vossas bagagens. Talvez tenha havido algum engano.
Y tomad en vuestras manos doblado dinero, y llevad en vuestra mano el dinero vuelto en las bocas de vuestros costales; quizá fué yerro.
And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight:

Levai também o vosso irmão. Levantai-vos e ide para o homem.

Y el Dios Omnipotente os dé misericordias delante de aquel varón, y os suelte al otro vuestro hermano, y á este Benjamín. Y si he de ser privado de mis hijos, séalo.
And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

Os homens pegaram aquele presente e levaram em mãos o dobro de dinheiro, junto com Benjamim. Eles se levantaram, foram para o Egito, e se apresentaram diante de José.
Entonces tomaron aquellos varones el presente, y tomaron en su mano doblado dinero, y á Benjamín; y se levantaron, y descendieron á Egipto, y presentáronse delante de José.

O administrador fez como José dissera. Ele trouxe os homens para a casa de José.

Os homens estavam com medo porque foram trazidos para a casa de José. Eles disseram: "Isso é por causa do dinheiro que foi posto de volta em nossas bagagens na primeira vez que fomos trazidos, porque o homem está buscando uma oportunidade contra nós. Ele pode nos prender e nos tomar como escravos, e levar nossos jumentos".
Y aquellos hombres tuvieron temor, cuando fueron metidos en casa de José, y decían: Por el dinero que fué vuelto en nuestros costales la primera vez nos han metido aquí, para revolver contra nosotros, y dar sobre nosotros, y tomarnos por siervos á nosotros, y á nuestros asnos.
And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.

Eles se aproximaram do administrador da casa de José, e falaram com ele à porta da casa,

Aconteceu que, quando chegamos ao alojamento, abrimos nossas bagagens, e eis que o valor total do dinheiro de cada um estava na abertura de sua bagagem. Nós o trouxemos de volta em nossas mãos.

And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man’s money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

O administrador disse: "Paz seja convosco, não temais. O vosso Deus e o Deus do vosso pai deve ter colocado o dinheiro em vossas bagagens. Eu recebi o vosso dinheiro". Então, o administrador trouxe-lhes Simeão.
Y él respondió: Paz á vosotros, no temáis; vuestro Dios y el Dios de vuestro padre os dió el tesoro en vuestros costales: vuestro dinero vino á mí. Y sacó á Simeón á ellos.
And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

O administrador trouxe os homens para dentro da casa de José. Ele lhes deu água, e eles lavaram seus pés. Ele deu comida aos seus jumentos.

José apressou-se para sair da sala, pois ele estava profundamente comovido por causa do seu irmão. Ele buscou um lugar para chorar, foi para seu quarto e ali chorou.
